Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
Comfortable, Quality Experience
Written by CJ from APEX
Apr 18, 2008
Okay, I consider myself quite informed musically. But I am not certain I would rely on my hearing to sway another person's purchase of headphones. (Ever since high school when I cranked Santana on headphones and about blew my hearing altogether). But I love these headphones.
* + The sound is balanced and wonderful. I am testing them currently on DARK SIDE OF THE MOON: "Us And Them" (what else) and they are providing a nice listen.
* + They sit comfortably on my head and ears.
* + Much cheaper than BOSE options (see below).
* - The only downside is I have them adjusted as far as they go and they make it just to center over my ears. (Maybe I should reflect on my rather bulbus cranium?//)
I also am a husband and father and must be attuned to the screaming of children so I prefer the on top rather than around the ear format.
I did go in-store and tested the Bose over and under the ear option which were quite nice. But I prefered the sound of the over-the-ear and need on-the-ear so I kept exploring.54 of 96 people found this useful

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
great for my ipod touch
Written by EM from Vienna
Apr 4, 2008
The guy at the apple store basically did not want to go get it for me when I asked for it because he said it was not selling because of poor sound quality. He said he could get it for me but I would have to buy it first. I did not think it could be that bad. So i decided to go to the Bang and Olufsen store. There I tried it out, one that has been broken in, and it was awesome. I played with the ipod's equalizer a little and got it just right. The new ones I have dont sound quite as good as the demo version but I expect them to after 30 hours (recommended time by the B&O guy). 3 yr warranty is great and sound leaks but its supposed to as they are semi-open headphones. It doesnt really leak until 2/3 volume. Comfy fit. Good bass, solid construction, love the sound, its my style. I listen to The Beatles, Alicia Keys, Linkin Park, basically everything and it all sounds solid. I had a pair of $100 sony in ear phones which i thought were great but these are just a little better

These will amaze you
Written by MF from Halifax

These are the headphones to get if you love music and wear glasses. Personally, I find on-ear headphones uncomfortable after about 20 minutes, but these are great for extended use. I found them to be especially comfortable once I adjusted the swivelling ear pieces just right. These are semi-open so people near you will hear what you are listening to. However, the subtleties that you will hear as soon as you put these on will blow you away. They aren't very good for blocking out noise, wore them on a fairly short flight a couple of weeks ago and had to turn up the volume quite a bit more than with the closed model I used on the previous flight. If I were a frequent flyer, I'd probably rate them less, but then again, I would invest in a set of noise-cancelling headphones.

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
Superb
Written by JC from Toronto
Mar 11, 2008
I tried this out, along with the BOSE quiet comfort and On-ear models. The quiet comfort added pressure to my eardrums and it felt really weird. I also heard a lot of white noise which I did not like at all. The BOSE on ears were pretty good except they picked up the bass drum a lot better than the actual bass which made it difficult to listen to.
BOTTOM LINE: If all the BOSEs were the same price as the Form 2s, I'd choose the Form 2s. Also, the chord length is now normal length. They must have updated all models. That seems to be the only thing people are complaining about here.55 of 95 people found this useful

Simply Fantastic.
Written by RL from Kihei

Just got these and I must say that they are superbly comfortable, very adjustable and the best $100 I've ever spent on a headset/headphones. The depth of the sound is stunning for headphones. Also, it should be noted that the product has changed recently (and since older reviews on here) and the cable is no longer "super long" and really is the perfect length for use with a laptop or an iPod. You will LOVE THESE!

Uncomfortable

Lot of style but unfortunately very uncomfortable against the ears after about 10 minutes. The metal band puts too much pressure on the ears. I returned mine the next day.

Im so happy with my purchase! Ok, I dont know if it is just my BO headphones or are the new ones have short cable? People were complaining for a super long cord the headphone has but mine is quite short, just like my apple's earphone. Overall, it's an excellent headphones.

Form over function
Written by LS from Belmont

Unfortunately, our local Apple store doesn't allow people to try on headphones in the store or I would never have bought these. I have to flex their metal headband so far to put them on that the ear pieces press uncomfortably hard against my ears. In addition, the metal band is cold against the top of my head (and I have lots of hair!). They are so uncomfortable that I never even plugged them in to test the sound. They're going straight back to the store.

my hunt for the great white
Written by HD from portland
Nov 15, 2007
This get pretty good sound, but more importantly they're totally chic. My only complaint: why don't they come in white?? Shockingly as I flipped through a Vogue from earlier this year I saw them- in white! I don't know if they were custom done or a prototype or what- all I know is that Bang & Olufsen better release them.

FORM 2
Written by JM from BROBY
Nov 7, 2007
First of all I must say that I'm pretty familiar to B&O's products.
I Bought their A8 earphones about two years ago, and I've been using them almost every day since then and they are still producing the same sound quality since day one.
Five out of five stars!
About two months ago I bought a pair of FORM 2, and i must say that the weight of these surprised me since it was a way lower than expected.
The quality of sound is as usual amazing. I listen to a lot of classical music and jazz, and almost everything except techno. And There is still nothing to complain about. The sound is so pure and the bass is also very clean.
What you would expect from the great peoples at Bang & Olufsen.78 of 114 people found this useful

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
poor selection
Written by JF from Salt Lake City
Oct 20, 2007
I was sadly unimpressed with these. I was looking for a open or semi-open headphone, Bang & Olufsen is a name that is familiar to most. I found the speakers tinny on the high end and lacking the warm and smooth sound B & O is known for specifically the real sound of guitar strings being played, maybe I got a bad pair. After reveiwing the selection at my local store I think Apple is pandering to those who know names but not quality, just look at the fact they are selling Nike headphones, come on apple get it together. Since the selection at my local store was so lacking I bit the bullet and ordered Grados. I'm giving them 3 stars since the company has been good in the past.

i've finally found the one!
Written by OL from Trois-Rivieres

sorry for my bad english i live in Quebec so i speak french ;)
I'va found the best for the price headphones...!
And imagine what..they shortened the cord to about 4 feet...what a surprise...i was looking for the rest of the cord, thinking they gave me some "used" phones...lol
and for the sound...it's really good, i hear sound i never heard before, even with a Onkyo home theatre system with infinity speakers.
The soundstage is verry good, the basse are there but not invading, the mids are well defined and the high...do i need to say something about the high? ;)
in the end, if you're looking for the best quality headphones around 129$ (the price in canadian) 100$ US. don't look any further, you've found it!
(i give them a 4 because i was waiting for headphones with long cord 'cause i was looking to buy the A8's for the walk/bus thing...too bad i'll use them until a received my A8...)

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
Give me a break
Written by TL from Fairbanks
Jul 29, 2007
Bought these at an Apple Store while visiting my youngest in NYC. Prior to purchase I listened to ALL of the demo headsets and the B/O's IMHO give the 'most bang for your buck' (pun intended). I am able to hear tones and words on old favorites, that I haven't heard in years except on the highest quality home systems. I'll let others with more expertise address the techno-quality of this headset...but I would like to address some of the other issues raised by reviewers. Length of cord: Give me a break idiot...shorten it! If you are uncomfortable with a wire cutter and soldering iron, use a 'smartwrap', wire twist tie, rubber band or piece of tape...geeze...to condemn a headset because of the cord is like condemning a pair of shoes because of the length of the laces! Some have objected to the 'open' nature of the ear pcs..I prefer this style as I am able to hear other noises around me while 'out and about' that are often blocked by 'full-cup' headsets. (might add that it was in the mid 80's while in NYC and these are a lot more comfortable in hot wx)

The Name says it all, B&O
Written by PP from cambridge
May 24, 2007
There aren't many reviews available on the net about these phones, but I think that they sound great. BUT if you plan to use it with an Ipod, the wire may become a problem. its really long, meant more for a desktop setup. but this is a minor problem, something a smartwrap can easily solve. The wire is thick, which is good, It wont easily break like those lower end earphones. The Highs are crisp and mids are clear, Bass as well is amazing for a semi open headset. it also has that stand out style. definately cool. I'd recommend it to anyone. Enjoy

B&O Awesome As Usual ;)

Great Sound, Great Style, Great Comfort!
The headset is designed for mainly inside use & the chord is lightweight, soft flexible & gives you plenty of room to move around.
I also enjoy using them outside & use a belkin chord wrap with them when I do.
(placement of the wrap is the key, so start the wrap where you want the weight rest or be stored.)

better than expected...
Written by JR from Fort Wayne
Mar 8, 2007
I think that the Form 2's are great for all uses outside of exercising. They are comfortable on my head. My favorite part is the thick cord. So often, my headphones with skinny cords have shorted out in a matter of months. The cord on this is long (which I don't care one way or the other about) but i think it's the thickness/sturdiness that counts when you are looking to not have to turn around and replace them in six months.

Nice sound, poor design
Written by WJ from Kansas City
Mar 1, 2007
I love B&O products, they make amazing beatuiful stereo gear from the highest quality components. Brushed metals, and shiney plastics. So what happened with these headphones? They sound great but they also broke in less than 6 months.
1. The vertical distance of the overhead assembly isn't long enough. If you have a long head they will not cover your ears if you place the yoke over the top of your head.
2. Because you have to flex the earphones at the joint where the metal armiture insterts into the plastic yoke, over time you create stress fractures that will lead to breakage. Mine took 6 months of daily use.
While thy look great and sound good, the bottom line is unless you have a small head, and can take them off with out flexing any part of the black plastic over head yoke, these guys are going to break. At this price point they need to re examine the quality of materials and the overall form factor of the product.24 of 38 people found this useful

Great Sound, Good Value
Written by MO from Melrose
Feb 7, 2007
These headphones are well worth the price in my opinion. They have a good range of sound and all types of music sound good with them. I compared them to several Bose headphones, and they sound just as good if not better...the mid range is more distinct. They are not noise cancelling, however, but if you are using them at home or don't mind that you can hear traffic noises, etc. you will probably like them. I find them comfortable to wear, and I'm glad I spent $99.00 as opposed to $179.00 for Bose.

Its a luxury good...
Written by US from Ann Arbor

I just got them in the mail and tried it. Umm..no difference whatsoever to the ipod earplugs. I can admit the fact that its a headturner...only because the passerbys can hear the music as loud as you can. Its a dud and quite honestly I feel duped. It might look sexy in a metrosexual way but it doesnt justify the three digit price tag
dont get me started on the cord...you gotta be kidding me...
Use the phones that just came with the ipod...atleast not these.17 of 42 people found this useful
