Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
Unbelievable headset
Written by EW from Lake Forest
Jan 28, 2007
These headsets are superb! The highs and lows are so well balanced that the sound is so crisp and clear. I have tried and used Bose, Sony, and Sure and this headset from Bang & Olufson comes nothing close. It is worth every penny. While the headset comes with a mini plug, it includes the regular plug for stereo systems where I can watch movies and TV shows without waking anyone in the house…yet I forget I am wearing headsets. They are so comfortable and lightweight. Highly recommended. Oh….and if you wear hearing aids, these headsets are for you since they sit on my hearing aids beautifully.

Good home/office headphone
Written by JW from Cary

For different reasons I purchased Bose QC2, Bose QC3, Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro, B&O Form 2, Bose In Ear, V-Moda vibe. (in that order)
I ranked it with comment. This is just my personal opinion.
1. Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro (+ best sound, comfort, base, fit, noise cancelling via tight seal; - hard to carry, fragile, rubbing noise when you run wit it) *If I can only own one this is it.
2. Bose QC3 (+great noise cancelling, sound quality, base; -gets hot around ear, weak battery life, need to carry a charger)
3. B&O A8 (+ clear sound, gorgeous form, comfort, durability, craftmanship; -ok base, no noise cancelling)
4. Bose QC2 (+same great bose sound quality, base: - ear gets REALLY hot, big and ugly design - I feel like a dork when I wear it)
5. Bose In ear (+adequate sound step up from apple, comfortable, convenient placement; -weak base)
6. B&O form 2 (+BO sound quality, decent base, style; - not very comfortable, not somthing you want to use it outside, not made for noise cancelling)
7. V-Moda vibe (+cheap; -not refined sound, gastly distorted base, ill fit in ears, waste of money, save money and keep the apple headphone)320 of 505 people found this useful

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
Amazing sound, ugly retro design which I love
Written by RC from Mamaroneck
Jan 18, 2007
I fell in love with these headphones from 15 feet away when I saw them at the Apple store, retro, ugly yet simple and slick. I was very skeptical at first until I put them on, they were extremely comfortable and the sound, my god the sound is amazing. I compared them to the Bose Triport and I gotta say these performed much better with the bass. I would highly recommend these to anybody out there looking for a new pair. Design wise they are genius very simple and different that would make a some people turn heads or ask you about them.

Sweet Sound/Swedish Style
Written by CC from Austin
Dec 25, 2006
These headphones were the highlight of my Christmas gifts. The sound is great. I'm hearing sounds I've never heard before from my other headphones. The bass is perfect - not overwhelming but definitely there. I listen to a lot of hip-hop so this was important to me. The styling is also amazing... retro, yet extremely sleek. My only complaint is the cord length... unbelievably long at 9.8ft. I could jump rope with this thing while listening to my music. Aside from that, I have no other complaints. Definitely worth a listen.

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
Made for SQ
Written by CK
Dec 25, 2006
These are far superior to Bose in SQ, and for 1/3 of the price. They do not hold out ambient noise very well, however. I use these for home listening, where it is usually rather quiet. When listened to in a noisy environment, they seem lackluster; however, when given a proper chance, these shine. Bass is very tight and musical, not boomy. Mids and highs aren't as clear as I'd like them to be, but they are still above average: on some songs better than others. Sometimes it depends on the track.
Good value for the money.10 of 12 people found this useful

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
these are great!

First off, I'll disclose that I've had B+O sound systems for 20+ years.
I've carried Form 2's with my cassette Walkmans travelling for a long time and found them great. I've a big head so they get a little tight, but the sound is worth it!
Noisy places like airplanes, no problem. Can send them through a splitter too, no sweat!
Speaking of sweat, my local B+O place sells replacement foam pads (not cheap, but available) and I've broken a headstrap and managed to buy another one.
I love them!8 of 10 people found this useful

I don't have a enormous head. its average. just try these on at your local apple store before buying, or else you might not have a place on your head to place them.

dont do it...

b&o make great products but these headphones arent ipod friendly...
the cord is INSANELY long... literally you would have to wrap the cord to a huge ball of cord just to make it the length of the default ipod earbuds...
i returned this thing in a hurry, right after opening the box.
i think this was bang & olufsens home headphone and they decided to aim it at the ipod market. poor poor choice.
save yourself 99 bucks.

Awesome clarity for Jazz, Classical, Pop, Vocals
Written by AM
Oct 31, 2006
I visited the Apple store at Eaton Centre at least 1/2 dozen times and compared these headphones to the Bose Triport, the Sennheiser PX1 00, and the Bose Quiet Comfort 3, and the Bang and Olufsen is the best choice if you like Jazz, Classical, Pop, and any music where there is accuracy and midrange. The Bose lean toward the Bass side which is good for R&B, but for Jazz, you need clarity to hear the Bass, Vocals, Piano, and other instruments. They sound pretty close to my Grado Labs SR 80 which are very good for this music as well.

Looks great, sounds terrible
Written by SG from Oklahoma City

I'm no audiophile ("oh, listen to those lovely woodwinds!"), but I do know when something sounds good, and these just don't. I bought these based on the brand and great looks to replace my Koss Portapros (ugly, 80s design... half price... sound wonderful) but they don't live up to the price. I honestly would have been unhappy with the sound even if they were $10 -- they're that bad. My iPod headphones have better sound. Also, unless I have a gigantic head and didn't know it, these are pretty small and tight. Not recommended!

Amazing!!!
Written by AB from Brooklyn

I was at the Apple Store on 5th Ave last night looking to buy the "in-ear" phones. No stock...I looked around and came across these. They look the coolest so I gave em' a listen. OMG! It's a whole new world. As a musician and music lover, I couldn't believe I waited so long to get these. Great bass sound! Now I have the most stylish headphones on the L train. Yeah, the cord is long, but that will come in handy at home or for dj action. Buy these, you won't regret it. Also comes with a 1/4" adapter and 3 year warranty!

Ideal headphones for home!
Written by MP from Issaquah

I love these things while on my laptop after the kids are asleep. They also match or beat the quality of my m audio studio playback speakers I have for my Garage Band setup. Super comfortable as well and with the style element that perfection in design and style that no other headphones I have seen of its type have had.

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
Sleek Stylish and Everlasting
Written by MS from Rohnert Park
Apr 12, 2006
I purchased these headphones along with the Form 1 model. I purchased both pairs over 10 years ago and they work just as well today as they did back then. The Form models from B&O are some of the greatest home headphones out there. The cord is a little long on the Form 2 but thats nothing a little electrical tape can't handle. I have had to order some new ear pads for the mini speakers attached to the headband. They are not typically ment for ipods because of the MP3 format. Everyone is complaining that the sound quality is not up to par. No sound is up to par when the music you are listening to is compressed into an MP3. I reccomend any product that B&O put out on the market. The quality is unsurpassed. 10 years and running.

VERY clear, VERY comfortable....
Written by SS from Tucker

but a little flimsy feeling for $99, and the bass response isn't as good as it could be.
still, these are very clear sounding, open and full headphones that will certainly give you better sound quality than your average headphones, but with less bass respose than most people would probably like.6 of 8 people found this useful

Bang & Olufsen Form 2 Headphones
oh so close
Written by HB from New York

Great feel, great look, but ultimately the sound is not materially better than the standard I-pod headphones. I really liked just about everything about these headphones. The were comfortable, looked cool with their sleek looks and B&O emblem. I initially thought the difference might be the limited power of the I-pod amp but with the handy standard headphone jack adapter I tried them and the stock I-pod headphones with my Rotel home system. Both sounded equally better but I couldn't tell the difference. I am a B&O fan and have a 1970s vintage system that I love but the truth is I couldn't justify the additional cost for these.

Cranius Maximus, Look Elsewhere
Written by BB from Los Angeles
Feb 20, 2006
Most of the pros and cons of these headphones have already been discussed. Great sound, long cord, etc. My only beef with them is that the headband isn't really too comfortable. I've got a larger-sized head and even on the largest adjustment the earpads don't fit properly on my ears without cutting into my head. So if you've got a small to medium sized heard, by all means, buy these headphones.

Style over Substance
Written by ES from Sacramento

Like the ladies that wear summertime clothes in the winter just to look good at the club. . . In all honesty the B&O A8's has a very unique sleek mod design. If your aim is to turn some heads these will do it. As for the sound quality... I could blabber on and on about "bass response, highs, mids, and yadi-dadi." I won't do that because these are not in that echelon of earphones. These are basic earphones for the casual listener, to put it plain and simple I give em a 7.5 out of 10 for sound quality. They are very light and are comfortatble enough to wear for extended durations. The cord is very long, this is because they are intended for home use (plugging into your TV and sitting back on your couch) the Sumajin Cord Wrap is an ideal solution or use the twisty tie from your loaf of bread. I almost gave em 4 stars if I didn't know that there are earphones that sound significantly better for less than half the price. but then again you wouldn't "look" as cool.
