Doesn't support controllers
Written by MJ from Ambler
Jan 31, 2009
This game is great if only one person is going to play or if you only intend to play with the keyboard. We had two people playing with controllers. The game was mixing signals up on the controllers and freezing up on menu screens. I called the manufacture and they said that this game is not made to support two of the same controllers. I went to the store to by another controller with a different model number and it did not improve. The manufacture verified that there was a problem with using controllers. What a disappointment! There is no problem with Star Wars Lego II. When I expressed this to the manufacture they said that they did not make Star Wars II, they only made Star Wars Lego I. Don't buy!!!!

Awesome!

I bought this game a few months ago for PC, but it wouldn't let me play. So then, we got a mac, and I got this for Mac, and it's AWSOME!!!! I even got my sister to ply with me! The graphics are really good, too. Although, the installation instructions don't tell you that you have to copy it into applications if you want to play on a user that's not the Admin. Bottom line, horrible for PC, great for Mac.

Great Game!!!

I am 7 years old and I love this game. You get to battle the darkside in many different ways. Its fun getting new weapons and new characters as you move further into the game. Within each of the three episodes, there are 5-6 doors with different battle scenes. My favorite part was battling Darth Maul. I can't wait to save enough money to get Star Wars II.

Initially Entertaining
Written by MB from West Henrietta

This is an excellent game and a 'must play' for any Star Wars or Lego fan.
The two player drop in and out makes for entertaining game play and the multiple objectives provide longer lasting interest in the levels. Unfortunately, once all objectives have been reached (all levels open, jedi status achieved throughout and all canisters have been collected) this game is no longer as entertaining. By playing through each level once alone, then once with a friend, however, the addictiveness of the game will last longer.
Overall, this game is incredibly entertaining while you try to beat it, just be sure to have a copy of Lego Star Wars II to occupy yourself once you have completed all levels of this game.202 of 347 people found this useful

Great game for everyone
Written by AO from Brentwood

This game is VERY addictive! I'm not a huge gamer on my Mac but I picked up this game to play while traveling. Definitely written for kids but I know many adults that enjoy this one as well. The controls are easy, tho the arrow keys get a little cramped when I've been playing for a while.
There is only one attack button, tho the game controls a lot for you. The characters with blasters aim for themselves, just enough to be useful, and the Jedi/Sith characters each have their own attack moves/combos. You have to play them as you unlock them, but each Jedi/Sith moves and attacks different from the others.
I only gave the game 4 stars for problems I have encountered just recently. There is one flying/ship-based level in each of the 3 Episodes. Episode 2/Level 5 makes my PowerBook freak out! The podrace level in Episode 1 worked fine, just a little choppy... Ep5/Lvl2 is just too much, unplayable to the point of the game crashing. I'm running 1.67Ghz w/ 1GB RAM, on the lowest video setting, so I may come back to the game after I add more RAM.
Great game all in all. Lots of fun for everyone, and like one of the first reviewers says, invest in a USB controller... makes the game much more fun to play.89 of 142 people found this useful

Great, but MUST get a controller
Written by MO from palm beach gardens

This game sat on our shelf for months until I bought a gaming controller that was fully mac compatible and programmable. Without a controller it is nearly impossible to play and definitely impossible to enjoy. With the controller (a NYKO programmable) it is an awesome experience. My 6 year old son and I spend hours playing it together.

A Melding of Pop Culture
Written by DH from Portsmouth

Two of the greatest pop culture symbols meet: Legos and Star Wars. This game is great. Kids and adults will love this game. The controls are very simple, yet it can be quite challenging at times. The great thing about this game is that it is fun and beatable for everyone. You will enjoy playing your favorite levels over and over again.
Flat out one of my best investments in my timewasting.88 of 146 people found this useful

Great fun. Played with my 7 yr old son. Can't understand a true Star Wars fan who wouldn't like/enjoy this game. Wish there was one for the original trilogy.

Does not work with Intel Macs
Written by TK from Goldendale
Apr 24, 2006
We bought this game thinking that it would work with our new Mac Mini Core Duo. We can play about 5-10 minutes of it and then it crashes. Up until it crashes it looks and works wonderfully. We have contacted Aspyr, they said a patch might be created sometime. We wish it worked. It is a great game otherwise.

Ok... not what I expected 3.5 Stars
Written by CE from Parksville
Jan 30, 2006
This game is not bad.... in fact, I could go as far as to say it's even good. But it is VERY repetitive, with breaking everything in sight to get little coins, and you only have to press one button to attack. There are ALOT of extra featres in this game, that you buy with the coins.... new characters, cheats, etc. I would give it a 3.5 star, but it doesnt have it so 3!

Aweful. Buy the real thing. Clunky controls.

Even my 6 year old can't be bothered to chase thousands of lego explosions. In fact my Lego crazy six year old has turned his nose up at this game, preferring the S/W Battlegrounds... which he probably shouldn't play. Also what's with no mouse capability and the bizarre choice of default control keys? Isn't using the arrow keys a little 80's? Very frustrating to play using keys and awkward point of fixed view. Very disappointing to find this such a clunker after the real star wars games and all these glowing reviews. These should be fun for parents so that we want to teach our kids how to play. I was hoping for more. Look on eBay for this one if you must buy... mine will be there shortly! What's next a Barney "skin" to mechandize Star Wars even further?

Lego Star Wars is a great game. It is short but is 2 player and has good co-op mode. You can join or drop out when ever you want. EVERY CHARACTER YOU USE OR SEE IN STORY CAN BE USED IN FREE PLAY!!!! It doesn't ruin the movies much for those who havn't seen them. Lego Star Wars is by far the best lego game ever and I couldn't recomend it more.

good game a little easy though

I FOUND THIS GAME TO BE INCREDIBLY ADDICTIVE AND FUN. THE ONLY PROBLEM BEING THAT ITS RATHER EASY TO BEAT. YOU HAVE TO GO BACK 800 TIMES TO GET ALL THE LITTLE GAME WITHIN THE GAME PARTS AND THAT BECOMES KIND OF ANNOYING. I RUN A G5 DUAL 2.0 AND IT LOOKS CRISP CLEAN AND DOESN'T LAG AT ALL.

Perfect
Written by CB from Greenville
Nov 21, 2005
This is probably the best designed games I have ever seen. My 6-year-old, with little experience with video games and a very low frustration-threshold, loves it. His dad, an old gaming veteran from Doom II and Marathon days, is hooked as well. There are lots of challenges, some greater than others, but since nothing really bad can happen to the player-characters, my son doesn't feel much pressure. He loves collecting the game's currency and buying characters--he was beside himself when he was able to buy a Droidaka (sp.?). If you are considering buying any game, you would be nuts not to get this one. (Be prepared to help younger kids a lot on the pod-race level, though.)
