I owned all of the sime games for my windows and it ran so slow and i could only have one expanisionpack on at a time, when i saw that mac came out with the sims i was excited. I bought them all and it runs lightening fast on my g4 and i can have all the expansion packs on at the same time, i am mad tho that they havent come out with open for business, i played it on windows and it is by far the best expansion pack yet.

    The Best Game Ever Made!

    Written by SH from Toronto

The Sims 2 offers an amazing update to Sims 1! Being a big fan of The Sims 1, I was skeptical to see what would happen with The Sims 2 but when I got it I was incredibly happy! This game offers so much and is incredibly fun!

The genetics idea is great and works well (for the most part). Every once in a while you'll get some weird kid that has a really square jaw or a small nose and really wide eyes, you know, just strange. But that's rare and the genetics are mostly fantastic!

    I LOVE SIMS 2

    Written by JH from MINNEAPOLIS

I have an ibook g4 and imac g5. I couldn't play the sims2 university on my g4 but I can on my imac g5. It kept crashing on my g4, so I only play sim2 without the university expansion on my g4. I can play both games on my g5. I hope I can play the new expansion pack on my g5. If not, i will have to uninstall sims2 university and install sims2 nightlife. I prefer nightlife to the university. We have all the sims games for windows. I can hardly wait for the release of sims 2 Nightlife.

I am very surpised to see this incredibly high performance demanding title work so smoothly on my 1.25Ghz eMac (1GB of ram) with only 32MB VRAM, even with a bit of lighting and shadows turned on!

The game is awesome, and what's better, I don't have to go out and buy a new computer to play it!

    Not slow on my iBook!

    Written by AS from Watertown

I loved the Sims for PC but bought an iBook G4 last year. When the Sims 2 came out and I saw how great it was on my sister's PC, I wanted the Mac version. The scrolling is sometimes a bit slow but really manageable. Once in a blue moon the sound cuts out, and to remedy this problem, I just save and go to the neighborhood screen, and then go back into the family. I hesitated to buy this because my iBook was just barely meeting requirements and not the "optimal" configuration, but I'm glad I did—it's so addicting!

    Love it to death

Written by GK from Oak Park

I'm sorry to hear that the requirements are screwing people over on the mac end. For me I had the reverse- I had come back home from college to find my brother had put on 5 viruses on my old computer. So I bought the mac version and it works great. Graphics are better and more consistent, and I can still download the user made skins and houses from the Sim exchange. I don't think I can upload stuff, but I'm more of a taker than a giver. Sometimes the game play is a little slow, but since stuff is running in the background that's expected. I just hope that Aspyr will come out with the expansion packs fast enough.

    4 *'s for The Sims2!

What a great game! Four stars for sure! ... I think the best improvment from the original sims to the sims two is that your charecters age and someday die. I remember playing the first sims game and and having a happy little family then having a baby between two sims and the baby would stay a baby forever! Well not anymore! Your original charecters will live on even after death though their children and childrens children.

    Major Disapiontment

Written by DC from Great Falls

I purchased a copy of this game for my 12 inch PowerBook, only to find that the frame rate was about 2 frames per second. My mac met all of the minimum requirements, but the game was about 3 times slower than my PC version of the game. Apparently, the game runs properly on a G5.

I don't know what the deal is... freezes on my PB 1.25 with 2 Gigs of Ram, and it's extremely buggy on my G5 to the point where it's not runnable. are the macs in my house just windows-tarded or what. it's probably a quick fix, but i wasn't expecting to have to do troubleshooting right out the box

    Great Addicting Game!!

Written by AE from Maple Grove

    Dec 30, 2005

With all the reviews of the game being slow on people's computers I was prepared for the worst on my 1.25 GHz mac mini, but it works fine. I tweaked some of the graphics options to make sure it wouldn't run slow and I didn't lose anything fro the game by doing so. Maybe everyone who is having problems should adjust their graphics within the game or get more ram (I have 1 GB). The only complaints I have is that the game is too addicting and I wish the people could do a little more for themselves. Having a family of four is a hard thing to manage, especially with a baby. And some sims let some of their needs get way too low. I guess it's my job to help them! Anyway, fun game to play and I have had absolutely no problems running it on my computer.
