I love this came and it plays fine on MY macbook. I have the white macbook with 2Ghz processor (i honestly don't know what that means just trying to give information) and I have the first generation macbook. I bought the sims 2 when I bought my computer and have been playing it weekly ever since. I love it.

The Sims 2
Not for the MacBook
Written by CF

This is a great game when played on any PC or iMac or Mac Pro, but if you buy this on the MacBook or MacBook pro it'll be your money down the drain. I bought the sims 2 on my MacBook and it ran horribly and though I turned the graphics to minimum it was still choppy (plus there was freezing!) All together though, it is a fantastic game.

The Sims 2
Alot better than I thought!

After reading some of the reviews about how the Sims 2 ran on laptops I was a bit concerned that I would be in the same situation. I got the Sims 2 and was relieved to find that the game ran perfectly fine. I was even able to set all of the graphics at the highest without so much of any kind of slow down. The only thing that really annoys me is that you can't set the graphics to have smooth edges. I have the Sims 2 for PC and I was able to and it made the game look 10x better. Besides that I have no complaints. If you are worried about how the game will run then don't buy it if you have the minimum requirements. Make sure you have at least the recommended.

The Sims 2
no probs for my macbook

I just got the Sims 2 for Christmas and the box said it was Universal and system requirements included "Intel chipset." I don't know if this is a recent development or not, but I played for about 4 hours and didn't experience any of the problems that people have reported on the MacBook like distorted faces, freezing, or cutting off. Overall a great game so far! I'm already addicted.

I love the sims. I played the original with my cousin and when she got this it was soo much better. If you download the insiminator you can do awsome things like age, grow younger, be abducted by alliens, make people love eacother instantly, or have them be mortal enimies. The people desining is sooo much better you can go down to the smalest detail. Another cool thing is you can have babies and it will have some of it's parents charicteristicts.

I love the sims 2, and on my friends PC it goes SOOO fast and its perfectly smooth. But when I got it for my MacBook, I was disappointed. It is VERY choppy and freezes a lot. Sometimes, the sims 2 even quits on its own. I think its better on PC, alot.

Runs too slow! Not as good as Sims 1. Not designed for a laptop

I bought the Sim 2 over a year ago. I have hardly played it. It is hard to navigate. I have navigated through 3-D modeling programs with less crashs, and more easily. At least the box looked nice.

The Sims 2
Addictive
Written by CW

This has to be the most addictive game I've ever played. I had to quit cold turkey though, because my current computer is crazy slow and has a tiny hard drive.
It's much more customizable than the original Sims. You could make your Sim look like anybody you wanted. I'd go online and download expansions like new skin tones, hair styles, different make up, and clothing, and hold up a picture of pretty much anyone and make their Sim clone. The body type isn't as customizable as I'd like, but you can download those from Sim fansites, too, if you really want. The face, however, is very, very customizable and you can tweak everything from the smallest details on the shape of the eyebrows to height and severity of cheek bones, to mouth shape.
The game is a graphic artist's dream because of its customizability. With a little instruction, anybody who knows how to use a good graphics editing program can create a new "skin" for their Sims, which means different clothes, makeup, etc, or wall and floor patterns. And anyone who can operate a 3D program as well can further customize the shape of the clothing and even create furniture.
The Sims 2 really offers an interesting life simulation with its incredible customization capabilities for the visual environment while offering, in relation to real life, few options for social interaction or actions in general. You can't, for example, as SimYou, decide to break all the lamps in your house or say or do just anything to your neighbors or housemates. It may just make you think about the excess in our lives today in that visual department and see why The Sims is so, perhaps eerily appealing: you look however you want, you can cheat your money into high figures- heck, you could even use sketchy programs from online to tweak your relationship stats with other Sims! You can choose to make it anything you want.56 of 65 people found this useful

Okay almost all of you reading this know this is an essential game to have because the expansions don't work without it...... still it could be better but if this is your first sims game my advice buy the game with an expansion. You have to give them their credit way better than the PS2 games I mean the expansions have way more but the game itself ROCKS! It's really fun I mean sure all you make is a family ,and a house but just go get pets ,business ,nightlife ,and university it will rock trust me! I definitely recommend it and love it!!!! TWO THUMBS UP ASPYR!

Imac is the only way to play Sims2

I recently bought an imac 20 inch and have always loved playing Sims. I bought Sims2 for the mac and WOW, and MORE WOW. Now I know now how this game is meant to be played - the game is amazingly real and easy. I have all the game settings on the highest graphics and it works beautifully. I love Sims2 for mac, I will probably never, ever play another game on my old dell pc. I love the imac and I love the Sims2, it is a 100% better than on my old pc. It is a must have game is you love role playing - don't waste another minute without Sims2!

The Sims 2
For MacBook Users
Written by RB from Van Nuys
Oct 15, 2006
Alright. I bought "The Sims 2" on a whim a/b a month ago. I was bored w/ some downtime. I don't usually play computer games, but you know. I have a 13inch MacBook that I installed it on. I carefully read all the reviews on the game and most of them said that it ran pretty slowly with the notebooks. I figured I would take the chance. At first yes it did run very slowly. It was an extremly fun game, but the freezing was rather annoying. I changed the graphics to the lowest possible setting(by the way, it didn't really affect the look of the game either)and the game ran fine. When Sims were changing clothes was really the only time I would have a delay of maybe 1/2 a second. It worked great for me!!!
As for the game: The game is really fun. It passes the time and it has a lot of ins and outs that you can play with. I'm happy with the purchase. I have a lot of fun with it.1296 of 1632 people found this useful

This is a fun game. Plus, even though it doesn't show a box with the universal symbol, the one i got in the mail is universal. It runs great on my intel iMac, no freezing problems at all.

Froze Again!
Written by CG from Van Nuys

The game itself is so much fun. I could play it for hours at a time. The only problem is it runs horribly. It's constantly freezing, and I'm always having to restart my computer. As much fun as the game is, I never get to that point because it shuts down. I'm starting to feel the game just isn't worth it! Is it just me?

this game is the best!!! it's totally addictive. i get so into it when i play!! the graphics are WAY much better than the first one. they can do SOOO much more stuff. the only thing that i can negatively say about the game is the loading..i guess that depends on the computer though..mine goes pretty fast, but all my other friend's computers goes really slow...and it also could take up alot of space. overally its exellent!!!
