The Sims 2 For Mac is brilliant. There are a couple of problems on mine but it still works fine!

    works fine

    Written by DM from Lima

We have 2GHz intel core 2 duo imac with osx version 10.4.10. The game works good. the only problem, which isn't a problem if your sims are in the area, is that when you are buying or decorating the lot will turn blue. When this happens you just adjust the view, or bring 1 of your sims into the area and all is well. The kids love to play, and so do the adults. A great game!

    Doesnt play well on iMac

    Written by FT from Hollywood

I got this iMac to play with Sims 2 last month. 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and You'd think it would play well and no. Buggy especially on the building mode and buy mode. Everything else seem correct.

....I was nervous to buy this after reading all the reviews about it not working for the intel macs. Well, I have a Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro and it plays beautifully. Just don't forget to download the patch from aspyr!! I'm going to get the Pets ep tonight :)

Sim's 2 Just Doesn't Work on a Mac Book Pro...

    Written by AM from Clayton

    Aug 19, 2007

I've sat at my computer now for, a good two days trying my best to get this sim's game to work, but it just wont. it instals. it starts. but it stops 10 seconds later! why cant there just be a simple answer, like, Sim's dont work on mac book pro, or, download this patch to make sims work. Why do these things have to be so frustrating!?! if your looking to buy this game and have a mac book pro, i'd buy it in store and have the apple guys install it.

    Runs Great on my iMac!

    Written by CC from Shelby

    Aug 13, 2007

This game is awesome and addictive! I play it a lot, and my iMac is still fine. It runs so well on it, probably because I got the 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with ATI Radeon graphics card instead of the cheaper 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo with Intel graphics. I don't know how well it runs on a MacBook, but if you have a desktop Mac, it should run fantastic! The graphics work great, it basically all works great! I really suggest this game

This game is amazing.. at first when i tried to download it, it said that I didn't have enough memory. If yours says that re-download it. Because when i re-downloaded it, it started to work. Anyways, this game is great and it runs great. It will have you addicted for months and its really easy to play this game for hours each day! this game DOES work on a macbook. I highly recommend this to anybody who loves the sims.

Macbook DOES NOT = Good Performance

    Written by AB from Pleasanton

    Aug 7, 2007

The sims 2 is a great game, but it has a few glitches with people that have a macbook.
    (1) it takes a while to change outfits in Create-A-Sim
Other reasons are because since the Sims2 was specially made for PCs and if you wanted to have really good performance, i would suggest using an iMac, because I haven't tried but because it is a Larger computer than laptops, the Sims 2 will run more smoothly. The only thing i have left to say is also that the Sims2 universal game does not support 2 GHz Intel Core Duo, since it is new, which is why there are some malfunctions on the Macbook.
butttttt don't let that get to you, because apple has this installing updater for the sims2 Mac so it can run smoothly, just type in: The sims 2 rev in the apple search box and it should be in downloads. HAven't tried it yet but i guarantee it will fix some of those problems. i just need to get the disk from my parents back because i got computar grounded...LOL

    not on my macbook pro

Written by JF from Hyde Park

    Aug 4, 2007

I had bought this game a few months ago, knowing that I would eventually end up with something more powerful than my G3 iBook. Welp, with my lovely new MacBook Pro on my lap, it turns out that this game won't run on my Intel Core 2 Duo. Mac support was not much of a help at all (though they are usually great), and Aspyr, rather than just sending me a patch, has suggested a ridiculous head-patting-stomach-rubbing set of steps that 'might work.'

How's that for a $50 silvery plastic disk?

i dont own this game my friend does though and i go over to her house to play it all the time and it doesnt seem to take too much memory up the rest of the computer run really fast also another thing that all these people forgot to metion is that it has excellent picture but one thing is i would not buy this for anyone 10 or under because it has sexuality in it and some kissing if you are thinking about buying a sims game for a 9 year the origanal sims is good!! or just check with their parents before you buy! also sims pets is a great add on to sims you get to make your own cats and dogs and get them a job and train them its a lot of fun! the only down thing about the game is its price!!! 50 dollars for a game is unfair but its worth the money!!!! ~~~~~~~~HOPE U ENJOY~~~~~~~~~

The Sims 2 on Intel iMac

Written by NS from Winter Park

    Jul 26, 2007

Well, this is a really great game and all and I can play for hours on end but it really bothers me that this game runs so slow and the framereate is very choppy at some points in the game. For example whn a sim changes clothes and they spin in a clous of smoke it runs slow and choppy. And when someone visits iit also runs slow. And the graphics are horrible I wish I knew what to buy to enhance the graphics and performance of this game.

    Not Bad

Written by ML from Oakland Gardens

I have been playing the Sims 2 on my Macbook Pro for the last few days and I am quite pleased with how it's going. Although there were a few minor glitches at times (solvable by closing the game & laptop for a couple of minutes), it did not subtract from the gaming experience. Aspyr has also updated its universal binary patch recently, but I have tried playing the game without the patch and it was fine.

All in all, Sims 2 worked great on my Macbook Pro.

    intel core *2* duo?

    Written by CG from Conroe

    Jun 30, 2007

i just bought the updated macbook pro, and bought this game. the game would run great, and fast, but after about 10minutes of game play, the game would crash.
after talking to the geniuses we determind that the "universal update" on the sims 2 only supports intel core duo, but not intel core 2 duo.

i run the game on my mac mini right now, and it runs fine, its a great game

I love this game, but it takes up so much memory I could scream! Listen, if you want to play this game with no problems, buy a separate computer to house this game. Otherwise, you should devote the computer you install it into to Sims. Forget your other software, this takes up so much memory.
