I Love The Sims 2 However....
Written by NH from Goose Creek
May 23, 2009
I use to have the Sims 2 on a PC however I came over and purcahsed the IMAC, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!! SIms 2 started off working fine, very addictive. The only issue I have found thus far, and I have had it for my IMAC for only a week is the Dart Board. It worked fine initially however the last two times I logged in to play it, I click on the Dart Board for them to play and they go stand next to it and just look at the board...I even went in to try to delete the board and add it again to the house and it will not allow me to delete. It states, Cannot delete object in use....checked the people and no one in the house is using it or anything. Frustrating but I love the rest of the game. I am taking it back to Best Buy to get a replacement copy, to see if it is just a problem w/ that copy. Ready for Sims 3 to come out, how exciting!!!

I bought The Sims Life Stories and my children loved it so I bought Sims 2 and it started off working well and we never had a problem with either games... until my children stopped playing the games for a short amount of time and when they would try to play either games it wouldn't open up.
>>> If anyone has any suggestions , their greatly appreciated.<<<39 of 65 people found this useful

The Sims 2
Half and Half
Written by DH from Chicago
Mar 24, 2009
At first 'The Sims 2' was a great, fun, computer game. It worked, for me, for about 2 months... then it wouldn't let me enter into some of the 'towns' (such as Pleasent View, Verona Ville, Strange Town) so I created my own towns. That worked for about 4 months. And now that I recently installed 'The Sims 2 Bon Voyage' (after using it ONCE by the way) the game is not allowing me to play at ALL! It is really annoying! :-|
Of course this is not Apple's fault, I'm serious! The CD is probably just screwed up.43 of 73 people found this useful

Try out the Demo Mode of Joe Sim
Written by TG from Hillsboro
Mar 9, 2009
If this is the first game - that you get that lets you move the camera to get different shots... please play the Demo Mode, with Joe Sim. Some of the stuff can seem very intimidating at first - - - but keep watching how the characters in the three neighborhoods interact with each other.
There isn't all that much of a choice - in terms of clothes, make-up, and the ability to design their lifestyle just yet...
Very important to keep your Sim Character - constantly socializing and inviting people to come over as often as possible. This will help you win REWARDS, and FAVORS to rise higher in your CAREER track.

A very fun game that performs well
Written by WR from Bradenton

This game is surprisingly fun and addicting! It's performance is great-it will never crash or freeze and the graphics are great (as long as you select the correct options, which are not the defaults). My only negative comment is that after talking to a few of my friends, I realized that there are a few minor glitches in this game that do not exist in the PC version, but they will not get in the way too badly.

Just great!!!
Written by MI

I've been a huge fan of The Sims game for a long time. I used to play for hours in my PC, even though I had to wait an eternity for it to load. Recently I switched to Mac and I decided to buy the game. I was worried because of all the bad reviews it has concerning the graphics and the game specs. Well, I've been using it for about a week now; both in my iMac and in my Macbook (which by the way are not top of the line), and the game runs just smoothly. It runs even better than it did in my PC. Loading time is way shorter and graphics are awesome. The only problem I had was when I first installed it, it said that I had not enough space, but then, I tried for a second time without making any changes and it just worked! Since then I've been hooked all over again and I'm planning to buy the expansion packs very soon! Buy it, you'll enjoy it! And if you've played the game in a PC, you'll enjoy it even more seeing the difference!

The Sims 2
Great but not excellent
Written by EB from STATEN ISLAND
Dec 30, 2008
i have to say: the game is great and entertaining. I never got bored of it and it holds you in your seat. However, the graphics are a two thumbs down. The players have 2 fingers, for the 4 are combined as one and your thumb is the second. The players talk JAPANESE, only the actions and headings are in english. Some actions are just stupid and the relationships are not as other life-stimulations game should. You can come to a stranger and kiss him right away. Is that right?? But if you just want that Sims feel we all love, you should still buy this game and hope Sims 3 would be better.

PC Version is way better!
Written by AS from Elmwood Park

There is not a bigger Sims fan than me. I had all of the original sims and I own all of The Sims 2 games and expansion pacs for PC. I recently purchased a Mac and got The Sims 2 as a gift for my mac and the graphics are awful! everything looks fuzzy. Now I find myself using my old PC just to play the sims. I really hope that The Sims 3 for Mac is a lot better.

Old Sims Made New
Written by DD from Brown Deer
Oct 26, 2008
Having played the original version from the very first days on a PC and then the Complete Sims on a Mac, I was very reluctant to buy a new version no matter how much it had advanced. But a 2.8ghz MBPro has the speed and graphics oomph, so ... Let me say that WOW! is an understatement. Nothing jerks anymore, even at the highest resolution with all effects maxxed. Buildings are no longer limited to two stories, and like Sim City, there's an actual night. Sim interaction is literally just like the trailers for Sims 2 add-ons -- those ARE NOT in-game cinematics -- with the usual thought bubbles, learning bars, and emotion pips above their heads. This is certainly the game to get if you couldn't stop playing the original.

best game ever!
Written by AW

Since I played the sims 1, it is very addictive!
Compared to the sims 1, the sims 2 is far more interesting upon the fact that it has better graphics, more life stage details, and of course great expansion packs.
The sims 2 also more challenging than the sims 1 because it has wants and aspiration.
The sims 2 is the only game which worth your money!82 of 94 people found this useful

The Sims 2
Torn Between Mac & PC
Written by LL from Chicago
Oct 14, 2008
The Sims 2 is my biggest addiction! I played it every night on my old PC laptop. My boyfriend had the game in his collection, so I popped it in my comp one night & was hooked! There is so much you can do with this game & the expansion packs are just as addicting! I love that you can download additional items online, too. I started creating my own webisodes using the Sims 2 game + expansion packs. The cheats help with that a lot.
A week ago, I received a used Mac Powerbook G4, so I had to get the game for it. Unfortunately, the Aspyr Sims 2 game doesn't work very well on this old Mac. It's super slow, the quality is low (doesn't have smooth lines on objects), most of the cheat codes don't work, & the video capture quality for my webisodes are poor. It was quite the disappointment.
I would normally suggest this game to everyone, but if you don't have a Macbook, it might not be worth it. Actually, after reading reviews about the game not working on a Macbook, maybe you should wait for the Sims 3 in 2009.21 of 28 people found this useful

The Sims2 doesn't work!
Written by LM from Columbus
Sep 23, 2008
I bought The Sims2 when it first came out for the Mac. I have a Power Mac G5. It meets the system requirements. All it does is crash. I have only been able to play it a few times. I call Aspyr and get the same answer. They just tell me to reinstall it and blame my computer. The patches seem to make things worse. I am very upset and I want some answers. It's too expensive to not work. If someone has a suggestion thay I may not have tried yet, please post it. I just want it to work.

The Sims 2
No good
Written by SM from Anchorage
Sep 22, 2008
I got this game for my Mac because I got a new computer and I have all the sims for PC, so when I got it for Mac I thought it would be great. Its wasn't. This worked well at first, had some minor problems with the picture that I could deal with. But, one day it just quit working. This game no longer works on my Mac. My suggestion is to buy the PC version, partition your hard drive with windows and download it on your mac that way.

System Requirements
Written by IM
Sep 2, 2008
I bought the Sims 2 even though i did not have the minimum system requirements, despite all the warnings, and it works great. I'm really pleased with the game but i know people with all of the recommended system requirements who have bought this game and it has not worked for them, so if your gonna buy it its luck whether it will work or not.
