My only complaint
Written by MH from Fort Mill

The sound is excellent, the styling is wonderful... my only complaint is that the volume knob is hard to grab onto to. The knob is pointy which makes it harder to grip.

The sound quality is really awesome! Sleek and sexy look works with the new Macbook pro, ties it all in together. Easy to set up. GREAT product!

Fantastic sound for a reasonable price!

I bought these on a whim, basically just looking for something other than the built-in speaker on my MBP. I absolutely adore the clarity of the sound, not to mention the volume that I can get out of them! Being an audio engineer on a budget, I highly approve of these speakers!
The only complaint that I have is that the knob is rather difficult to turn on.17 of 18 people found this useful

Good but...

Very happy with the speakers but they seem to react to cellphones as they will emit a loud electric noise just at the same time my cellular rings... Annoying to say the least.

Amazing sound and value

These are a pretty close match (color-wise) to the iMac, and the sound is really nice. It's probably going to be difficult to beat these in the $50 range. I had to buy them because of the pathetic excuse for speakers in the new iMac (honestly, my G3 iMac from 2000 blows the new iMac away for sound, and my G4 iMac from 2004 was great). The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is the huge kludgey power brick. It reminds me of PC speakers from 10 years ago. C'mon Harmon - you can do better than that.

Good But...

I've had these speakers for about 8 months, and i have concluded that these JBL speakers are the best out there, even better than the Bose Companions, but my only problem is that
1. the volume knob gets "sticky" or kind of stuck when you turn it loud.
2. It has a lot of static noise... especially when i hook it up to my MacBook Pro, it is really static-iy and it is really annoying, which is why i'm going to buy new ones, or different speakers...48 of 67 people found this useful

For the money...

These speakers are ideal for low volume playing. Don't try blasting your tunes especialy if its got alot of bass. All in all it a decent set of speakers for the money. Its got a wide range of highs and lows.

Solid speaker

I have had these speakers for about half a year now and i love them. They are good speakers if u live in a dorm. They are pretty loud but not like WICKED loud. They are easy to set up and move around, so that is a deffinate plus. I just wish that they had a subwoofer because the bass is a little crumby when you turn the volume up a ways. overall a good buy.

For what they are, they are good

I purchased these with my iMac because I know that the speakers on the iMac would not have the punch that I desire. I was not disappointed. For their dimunitive size, the have a nice low end warmth and clarity through the mids and highs. You will be able to overpower them (they do not have a seperate sub) with ultra lows, but for the money, they crank just fine (based on work in a mid-sized studio with far more expensive full range speakers...) and reproduce well.
I am very happy with this product.13 of 20 people found this useful

You can actually get them cheaper...

I concur with the positive reviews . . . one thing I would mention is that you can actually get them cheaper if you take a few minutes to search the internet. I got mine for like $25 and they have been working perfect for almost a year now.

For the Value is very good!
After 11 months one speaker died .. JBL is replacing though .. hopefully next time doesn't overheat (since my warranty expires next week) but i guess the chances are very low ... i love the quality the sound is very clean and they are very well designed!
I'm happy also with the quick response from them .. i'm just waiting now for the speaker replacements!5 of 7 people found this useful

These speakers aren't the best speakers on the market but they're definetely worth the fifty bucks! I am a college student in San Francsico and I can honestly say these speakers are the best on my dorm floor!

yes, like everyone else, i think these speakers are great. i don't know too much about speakers, but i was looking around the student store where I bought my powerbook and these seemed like the best fit for my powerbook. I love them! they don't take up too much space on my desk, and i can listen to the music from anywhere on my apartment.
