GREAT DEAL - GREAT SOUND!

I just ordered these speakers on Saturday and they arrived on Monday! After I had them set up to my PowerBook G4 I was amazed! The sound quality is great and these babies even pack a little "punch" (bass) as well! Definitely a GREAT DEAL and they SOUND GREAT! I recommend these to someone who isn't happy with the sound level of their MAC product and want a louder quality sound! Great for a small gathering NOT a huge party! If you take them around a lot with you, be sure to find proper storage... they scratch easily when they bump up against each other.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that you have to plug these into the wall as well... And the AC adapter is very heavy... Other than that I LOVE THEM!

I have had these speakers for 3 years now, they still sound just as good as when i bought them. They are very durable and the sound quality is amazing. This is a must buy for anyone.

I got these for christmas and they are the best speakers i have ever had. they ROCK! I use them for my iPod, MacBook or anything that has a headphone jack and that i can plug them into. GREAT PRODUCT! DO NOT HESITATE! BUY THEM TODAY!

For $50 I was expecting mediocre sound compared to speaker systems I've bought over the last 50+ years, some for many hundreds of dollars each. But the sound just blew me away I had to write my first product review ever. These will not disapoint, good base, good overall sound, loud- everything you'd expect for twice the price. For only $50 (retail) APPLE should use them instead of the cheap crummy one in the iMac. [I can't speak to the problems some users have had with their speakers not working- but I wish them well].

I had no idea what speakers to get for my iMac. I settled on these for their looks and the price. To my surprise the sound is fantastic. I have had these for over a year now and have had no problem. They have great range. I like all types of music, classical, rock, western, R&B and pop. They are quite loud for their size. I am very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend them.

Good sound when they work

I got these speakers as a result of my taking part in the class action against Apple for the iPod battery issue & now I wish I spent my certificate on something else. They worked right out of the box & sounded great on my laptop then a couple of weeks after getting them, they didn't work. No power coming out of the adaptor. So, I contacted Apple who then told me to contact JBL for parts replacement. I did & they sent me another adaptor. The speakers worked for the next day or so & went dead again. Contacted JBL & requested a replacement set of speakers. Got another adaptor. Which promptly died when plugged into the speakers. Obviously there is a problem in the speakers & I am now awaiting a response from JBL. Take your chances with these if you must...

IT HAS A GOOD SOUND, BUT ONLY ONE SPEAKER ITS WORKING...
THE MAIN SPEAK IS NOT WORKING.

I just purchased a macbook pro and was looking for a speaker system that is very portable and, has very good sound quality for the size and price. This system does not dissapoint. The bass response is surprisingly good for such a small system. If you are looking for a very portable , well priced , and excellent sounding system for a notebook or iPod , look no further than the JBL Duet.

One speaker dead on arrival but still worth it

Despite being disappointed with the malfunctioning of one of the speakers upon arrival, I'm definitely impressed with the sound of the other *only* working speaker. I will have to return them to the nearest apple store which stinks, but I think the trip should be worth it... it beats listening to music with my laptop speakers.

I give 3 stars only b/c of the imperfect product and the hassle of going back to the store.

Worth Well More!

I had to decide which speaker set to buy based entirely on price and reviews. I saw some bad reviews for this but mostly good, and the price was nice, so i went with these. To those who think that this doesn't provide enough bass... Why do you hate music? For anyone who is looking for a good computer, ipod, or cd player speakers, buy this! I'll tell you everything about these... They provide very clear, loud, quality listening with good bass for being so small. The only time you would here static is when they are all the way up, and these little things are so loud that no one would! The electricity in your fingers causes small crackles when you tough the metal volume knob, but it is not very noticeable (and who listens to music by holding the volume knob the whole time?) They must be plugged into an outlet, so listening at a park or public pool isn't an option. They provide extremely good surround sound, and work best after you set the EQ to how you like it. These babies are worth near $100, and having to earn the money to buy these myself, the value for the price means a lot!

Loud and Crisp

These speakers are amazing. Listening to them in the Apple Store I worried that they wouldn't be loud enough; but I thought wrong. They can get really loud and the sound quality is amazing. They get loud enough to hear throughout my whole two story house while maintaing a clear crisp sound without static.

Solid speaker

I have had these speakers for about half a year now and i love them. They are good speakers if u live in a dorm. They are pretty loud but not like WICKED loud. They are easy to set up and move around, so that is a deffinate plus. I just wish that they had a subwoofer because the bass is a little crumby when you turn the volume up a ways. overall a good buy.

I thought I would be cutting myself short by only spending $50 on these speakers. The gentleman at the MAC store told me they actually had the quality that the speakers you dock your IPod in, for the price of around $250. The day I bought them, we went to the pool, and these little things blasted the entire pool area out. You could even hear the music when you were swimming under water. I would definitely recommend, esp for the price!

I'm low on my budget, but my love for music has compelled me to seek a pair of quality speakers, with a great bass, sexy look and loud volume. After reading many reviews and painstakingly turning down $300 speakers and docks, I settled on these. For a pair of decently priced speakers, they catered to all my desires, and now I'm having extravagant dance parties with these boomin' puppies. Absolutely fabulous.

I purchased these with my iMac because I know that the speakers on the iMac would not have the punch that I desire. I was not disappointed. For their dimunitive size, the have a nice low end warmth and clarity through the mids and highs. You will be able to overpower them (they do not have a seperate sub) with ultra lows, but for the money, they crank just fine (based on work in a mid-sized studio with far more expensive full range speakers...) and reproduce well.
I am very happy with this product.

thes speakers are absolutely terrible. the sound is completely muddy. i wouldnt be so angry if i didnt spend 50 bucks on these things, which you can get a similar pair for like 10 bucks
