I like the way I can be creative when creating my character. I get the freedom to create an alien Jedi. The story made total sense but the graphics weren't all that great. The weapon system was not confusing at all but its hard to remember which button uses which force power. 4 stars

    Don't Buy for MacBook

    Written by PB from Milan

I just bought a new MacBook, and was looking to get a couple of games to play on it. I saw that this one had really good reviews, so I bought it. No matter what you do, this game will not open. You just get a weird humming noise and then it "quits unexpectedly". Do not waste your time or money with this game if you own a MacBook. The video card in a MacBook does not support the graphics in this game. I wish I had paid more attention to that before I bought it.

    Woooooooooooooooooooooo!

I know I'm only 10, but this game is FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! You get to wield a lightsaber of your very own, get loads of force powers and weapons, and create your guy with Jedi clothing! My favorite force power is the Sith lightning. You get to shock everyone in your path! The single player mode is sweet. To choose your own missions is really cool. If you know the cheats, you can get a second or double-bladed saber immediately. You can use god mode, go to the place you want to go whenever you want, choose any vehicle, and tons more. (I recommend Gamespot for cheats.)
I love this game. It's mostly all I think about. Any Star Wars fan or video game lover would be crazy not to get this game!

    Amazing Game

Written by BT from Santa Cruz

I have never actually played the multiplayer portion of this game and I hear that it is one of it's greatest strengths, but the rest of the game I can vouch for. I have spent countless hours playing this game and experimenting with all the light saber moves and jedi powers and such. I have to say though that nothing is more fun than picking someone up with the Force Grip and then Force Lightening or Force Pushing your enemy to oblivion. I highly suggest using a multi button mouse and having a keyboard with F-Keys 1-12 but with a lot of practice one can preform decently on a laptop.

I love this game! Excellent action, I just couldn't get enough of charging into each level to get crazy swinging my lightsaber! :) I like the graphics too. I really got the feel of being immersed in Star Wars and being a kick-butt Jedi. The story was enough to make me feel like there was a point to what I was doing. I wish they would keep cranking-out sequels to this game, I'd buy a sequel. I did try the multi-player briefly too, lots of people still playing, though so far I'm more a fan of the single-player portion.

    Not for Next-Gen Gamers

    Written by JF from Phoenix

I picked this game up the other day and there were some really cool elements. As I played more and more the more familiar the game got until I realized I played this game for the Xbox a years ago. It was then I realized, "Man I just blew $40." All the fun the game had going was instantly lost and my senses came to. I realized the graphics were pitiful. This is all the much sadder due to the fact that the only reason I purchased this was because my Xbox 360 was sent back due to the Three Rings of Death and I needed to get my gaming fix. Anyways I wonder what the Apple Stores return policy is...

    Single Player somewhat lacking

    Written by S- from -------------

    Mar 18, 2008

The multiplayer on this game is incredibly fun, in my opinion. Mods such as the Lugormods have really advanced the gameplay and given players a reason to go back and play it some more. The graphics are a bit old, but they aren't too bad yet. However, although it has an amazing multiplayer, its Single player is extremely lacking. Most levels are so easy that you can go through them in 20 minutes with very little replay value. The storyline itself is exceptionally weak and very predictable. This game is decent, but only for its multiplayer.

Theres only one way to play it, and if you dont do it exactly right theres no way to beat the end game boss. You cant play it a second time and have a new or different experience. So the only thing to do is uninstall and throw it away.

    Do not buy this game

Written by CB from Chevy Chase

This is,, hands down the most ill conceived game from the star wars genre I have ever played. It has animated footage that tells the story as you go along, with varying angles and character dialog, much of which is very contrived and, worst of all, you can't advance through it to get back to game play. You actually have to wait through the animation (which is not very good) before you can continue to play. Trust me, its not worth your time or money.

This game is great and it never gets boring! You can play it for hours straight and not get tired of it. The main game is great for getting used to the game, but after a while you'll find that the multiplayer mode is more fun, since it's different every time. Still, it's a great game and I would definately recomend it!

Excellent Sequel with Fun Gameplay and Very Good Performance

Written by JK from Los Angeles

    May 29, 2006

I just finished playing through this game and it was really excellent! The lightsaber and force customization features are what really make the game interesting because it is a radically different experience depending on which force powers you use and what kind of lightsaber you choose (the game offers you a single saber [with three different "combat styles" available], two sabers, or a dual saber). The plot isn't terribly interesting, but it's more than good enough to keep the action flowing along. Some of the levels are extremely well designed (you can tell the attention to detail) and most are a lot of fun to play. Your character also has access to the lightsaber weapon from the very beginning of the game, which makes the game interesting right from the start.

Performance is very good on my PowerBook G4 12" 1.5 GHz. I was able to set the geometric complexity to max, texture quality to medium, filtering to medium, and turn on dynamic glow (included in the free update patch available for download from the game maker--makes the lightsaber look amazingly real) and the framerates were still very good in most levels. The graphics still are not the absolute best of any game I've ever played, but the game still looks good. The dynamic lighting and glows and lightsaber effects are very well done.

Like Jedi Outcast, the controls in Jedi Academy are pretty easy to learn, easy to customize, and easy to invoke. The game's lightsaber engine is pretty well refined and some of the moves are really neat looking. Within no time at all you'll be engaging in lightsaber battles that look like they came right out of the movies. It's really a lot of fun.

i played this game on both pc's & Mac's with both an ati radeon 9200 and it sucks but other radeon cards like 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800, & 9000 cards work well, so Mac users with an iBook, PowerBook, iMac & Mini with radeon 9200 don't buy. But PowerMac users with a radeon 9200, upgrade your video card and get it and everyone who does not have a 9200 get it too

One of Best Games of all time

    Written by DH from Bellevue

Many other reviews talk in depth about this game. This game was first released around November of 2003, and it is still widely played and purchased! This speaks for itself. I think this maybe the best game I have ever played... It is certainly a game I compare all others to.
