(Macsoft) Age of Mythology
Good Game

This game is incredible! The graphics are stunning. The reference to real mythology is neat. The game definitely lives up to standards. I rate the game 4 1/2 stars. Not 5 because the game does take awhile to save, but still.

Great Game

I really love this game! Great graphics and very fun! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that mine tends to kick me out every once in a while. It can really get on your nerves. The campaign is done very well! That seems to be where I get kicked out the most though :(. Even with that, I highly recommend this game!

Age of Mythology- PC version
Written by SS

Pros: variety of civilizations, god powers, and units; interesting mythological and historical tidbits
Cons: would like individual campaigns for civilizations, tend to label gods of death as 'evil'
Other: More gods would be nice, probably in the expansion. Wouldn't mind seeing some other civilizations (asian, north american, etc)
*Important*: This game is sold in two versions - win/pc or mac. Re complaint about core duo (unclear mac or pc)- I just installed the Windows version on my new Windows XP Core 2 duo machine and its fine.

Good, But...

I love the mythology aspect of the game. The only thing I wish it had though was the choice of nation at the beginning of the Campaign 1-player mode. I like Norse, but it forces you to be Greek :( Other than that, it is a very addicting game. You can play it for hours without realising it!!

Lives up to standards

This game definitely lives up to the standards of Ensemble's award-winning real time strategy games. The only reason it is not a 5-rating for me is the fact that mac doesn't have the expansion yet, the Titans expansion and that the map editor is confusing until you have used it millions of times(like me).

This is a great game in which you can choose how you want to play the game being you want to be a major military power or a peaceful nation. I love the way you can build mythical untis and that you choose minor gods and these choices affect the game in a great manor. Great game cant wait for the expasion.

Fonts and Tiger
Written by SL from Lausanne

I had the same problem as above with AOM on Tiger. It was showing little squares instead of characters, making the menus impossible to use. I disabled (and then deleted) a font called Giovanni and everything is fine now. Don't know what this font is about anyway.
I absolutely love the game. The big downside is that you can't play with PC users online. I bought the game especially for that and I revert to using my PC for gaming because of this. Yeah, I bought the game twice (once on pc, once on mac), just to have a valid license to play on my mac.. but with the mac I can only play on gameranger which has very few players, while all my friends and most people actually are on ESO.

...receive the ability to shower meteors on your doomed enemies.
Based upon a typical turn based strategy games, Age of Mythology brings the civilizations of lore come to life.
LAN play is fantastic and campaign play has a rich story.
