    Well made but design flaw

    • Written by from Cupertino

The execution of the case is very nice: material, fit and finish are five stars. Design is two stars, maybe even one, because I cannot for the life of me figure out how someone at Apple let that ugly, in the way, eyesore of a hinge bump be produced. It is not a design necessity (the top cover hinge of the faux leather Invellop case is beautiful designed and it sits in a recess in the back shell). I will also comment about the lack of dark brown and navy blue, but since I am not going to keep it for other reasons, that wouldn't help it this time.

    Good case

    • Written by from Doylestown

This is a good case...no issues in my experience..fits snugly, closes well everything lines up. It is difficult to change volume as the buttons are covered by case 'bumps'...not sure how else to describe. You need to press very hard to engage the actual button. Keeps the low profile of the air which I like. More expensive than it should be.

    Good case but too expensive

    • Written by from SEABROOK

I got this case for Christmas and it does everything it says it does except holding it up on portrait mode. I am mostly satisfied with this case but think the price is outrageous. I would NOT have paid over $80.00 for it.

    A brilliant case

    • Written by from Bedford

I got my ipad air for Christmas and I wanted to protect it from scratches and dinks I searched Amazon for cases as this case was quite expensive I found a few but they looked flimsy and cheap so I bought this from apple. It is a great case feels luxurious when holding and is a great stand for watching films on netflix. Well worth the money!

    Great Case.

I think this case is great it protects the iPad air very well if you have an iPad or are buying one I suggest buying this case I think the price is a little high but in the end very well worth it.
I gave it 4 stars only because I think the price should be a little lower but overall it's a great case and a must buy.

    Smart Case iPad Air

    • Written by from Peru

I like this case. I made a loop out of 1/4 inch elastic to keep it closed and also placed a row of binder clips in the folded edge to make a better crease. After removing the clips, it does close flat. I wish the design would include a silicone bump on the 4 corners to give a little more drop protection, but otherwise am happy with this case. I did purchase it with my Black Friday gift card offer and would not have paid $80 for it. But it is sleek, lightweight, and the cover does provide some resistance that may keep it from slipping out of my hand.

    Excellent case

    • Written by from DAVIS

I purchased the black case for my new black iPad Air after looking at many other cases and reading hundreds of reviews. My case fits perfectly in all respects. The back provides excellent coverage, and the cover fits very well and turns off the screen without any problems. Sure it is expensive, but in my opinion it is a quality product. Lightweight too, and no problems accessing all controls and ports. As others have commented, the cover supports the iPad in landscape mode if you are careful to fold the leather to the inside so that the microfiber is on the outside, and the flap fits into the seam next to the fold. This assures that the magnets hold it in place. Finally, this case works perfectly just like the smart cover did on my iPad 2 for reading in portrait mode. Other cases I looked at had covers that did not fold completely back for reading in portrait mode.

Not as good as previous cases...

    • Written by from Toa Alta

It feels great. It is very light, and looks good. I think they need to improve the front cover, it does not lay flat when it's closed. Also is not good when is used as a stand. I don't use it because it does not feel secure. Overall, looks good, feels great, not as good as previous models.

    Great Case

    • Written by from Lansing

The leather brown case is perfect. The feel is amazing and it gives the iPad a more sophisticated look. At first I was worried about the sturdiness while watching a show but the support is great! The only think which I hope will change over time is the cover doesn't lay completely flat. It still puts my iPad to sleep, I'd just prefer it completely flat.

    Quality is just so-so

    • Written by from Battle Ground

I find the case to be flimsy and not what quality I have come to expect from Apple. I have chosen to spend another $20 and get another brand of case with a keyboard.

Must be their worst ever.poor fit around edge, irritates hand, slippery outer finish.Makes for a poor stand.had the first gen iPad with cover and still use, that was a great cover.Wish this one was similar.

Great for a cover, terrible stand.

    • Written by from Santa Monica

I don't usually write reviews, but thought I'd leave one for this. I needed a quick case for my ipad and picked up this one. Protects it great and fits perfect, but the stand part I'd horrible. You have to get it in the perfect spot or the stand won't hold and fall. When more cases come out I think I'll be looking for a replacement.

    Less is not always more...

    • Written by from Troutman

I love the look and feel of this case. However, the design is not as good as its predecessor; the leather Smart Cover. I do like the fact that it covers the front and the back. What's missing? One fold.

The cover for previous generations had 4 flaps that folded nicely into a triangle which provided a solid support / stand. This version only has three and it doesn't hold together nearly as well. Assumedly, it's because of the width reduction of the iPad Air, but in my opinion the scale and width of the four folds should have been scaled accordingly.

    Pricey and not very functional

    • Written by from Westfield

I don't know why Apple discontinued their polycarbonate cases. The only option they currently have for the Air is this leather version. The leather does have a nice feel to it. While it does have magnets in the cover to turn the iPad on and off, the cover is nearly impossible to fold properly in order to get the iPad to stand. The polycarbonate version could lock into position; the leather one curls in on itself. While I realize that leather isn't cheap, this seems like a high price to pay for something that doesn't do what it's supposed to.

    Not worth the money

    • Written by from Taunton

I have been using it for a week and I am sending it back. As a stand its very flimsy and if you don't fold it just so it doesn't stand up well. Def not worth $80. I am returning asap. Now, if you just want something that looks good visually and protects the outside then I guess it would be worth" the money?

    IPad Air Case

    • Written by from Spartanburg

Very disappointing for the price. Feels llike plasticl, not a soft leather. Fits case however cover does not close tightly, and light shows, doesnt put it to sleep. Very annoying when using at night. Stand is floopy, doesnt hold it up and constantlly slips. Tab is very stiff and needs to be massaged and loosened before slipping into slot to hold pad up, or close. Very shoddy product for Apple to choose to use with this great new product! Very surprised at lack of quality. How about some nice new bright colors? This cover will have to do until something else comes out, but Apple dropped from the tree on this one.

    Color and material

    • Written by from Alexandria

3/5 durability and color not what I had hoped for

I wish there was a non leather option (as is the cover offering) for those of us who would prefer not to use leather or would like something more durable - and I wish that there was a bright green offered (as there is in the cover offering).

    - wasn't there a synthetic case in green for the last iPad?

    HORRIBLE case!!!

    • Written by from Prairie Village

I so much wanted to like this lightweight form fitting case which shows the top bezel. However, just like the flimsy cover version, this case is almost totally non functional. It won't stand up on my lap, it falls over, and the leather feels fake and cheap. Back to Piel Frama I go for real leather, real functional cases. I've had 6 of those and loved every one. Oh well. Apple rocks their core business, but cases aren't it.

You Get What You Pay For

    • Written by from Miami

The quality is top notch and the functionality is too.

It wakes and sleeps automatically upon opening and closing.

The leather will wear in over time and give your case character.

No complaints. Expensive and worth it.
