    • Written by from Fortaleza

After 3 months of use, the iphone in the dock get some space, going a little bit forward and backward.
The space is enough to not charge anymore, is I pull a little , start to charge again.

So, is a not a good quality product !

Everyone at Apple should be embarrassed.

    • Written by from Fargo

This is the worst Apple product I have ever used.

    1. It is too light. You can't simply lift the iPhone up, you have to hold the dock down with one hand and wiggle out the iPhone with the other.

    2. The front of the dock blocks the home button. Because of this it is difficult to use Touch ID to unlock the device. It is also more difficult to use the home button in regular use of the phone.

    3. There is no support behind the phone, just the cutout at the very bottom (that causes point 2.). In combination with point 1., the dock and phone tend to slip and totter all over the place when you push the home button or tap the screen. It does not inspire confidence.

    4. Speaking of the cutout, it only fits an unsleeved or uncased phone. No matter how thin your case, no matter if you are using Apple's own cases, the phone will not fit unless it is bare.

    5. It loses support for the Apple Remote compared to previous Apple iPhone docks.

    6. It disables the audio controls on the iPhone. This, combined with point 5. means I have to stand up and walk across the office to adjust volume since I have this plugged directly into a pair of powered bookshelf speakers & sub instead of a receiver.

    7. And not only does it disable the audio controls, it pumps audio out of the 3.5mm "Line Out" connector at 100% volume. Make sure you have speakers or a receiver that can handle this ridiculous signal. My THX-certified Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system in my office cannot handle it. Turning its volume knob more than a fraction of a degree from mute results in ear bleed-inducing volume.

This poorly-designed product fails at every single thing a dock needs to be good. It is simply terrible. Shockingly terrible. The iPhone 5s is a masterpiece of design. It is one of the best things I have ever owned, it's one of my favorite things to use. To have one of its accessories be this bad is a tragedy, an embarrassment. Shame on Apple for letting this product be sold under its name.

    • Written by from Aalborg

I bought this dock for office in order to easily recharge and make iPhone 5 phone called with headset.
Although there is a headset connector, the headset are not working for phone calls - only for listening to music.
    Hello! This is not ok!

    Miss the remote control!

    • Written by from Campbell

I like the new doc for its sleekness and simplicity...but with my 4S, that doc would work with a remote control for easy remote on/off and volume control etc. Why reduce functionality but keep the cost up? To use my older models I had to buy an adaptor at the same cost of the doc, essentially doubling the cost of a doc. However, this adaptor did raise the iPhone up to eliminate the cumbersome access to the thumb print button mentioned by another reviewer. If it would have come with the remote, I would have given it a 5 star...but without, it only gets a 3 star.

I really don't know why this is getting less that 4 stars?

    • Written by from London

This dock is one of the nicest docks I have used, it has a 3.5mm headphone line out for your speakers or headphones which is nice. A lot of people and I mean a lot of people are complaining about using touch id with the 5s, I have had no problems with my 5s touch id; the button is covered up a tiny bit but everything works fine with it for me and there is no problems at all. It is very easy to get your iPhone 5 or 5s in and out even with one hand only. ABOUT THE CASE PROBLEM: As you can see in all of the apple pictures no case is on the phone, and the opening is small enough to just fit an iPhone, so I'm not sure why it is so surprising and disappointing for everyone to find out because it seems like people purchased the dock without even looking at it.

Doesn't work with earphones and with original leather case

    • Written by from Downingtown

C'mon Apple!!! What happened here? I use the dock at work, like I did with iPhone 4S and the old dock. Now, I cannot put the iPhone in with the original leather case - and getting the iPhone out of the leather case is very very hard! Additionally, you cannot use earphones with this iPhone any more - you cannot control the volume AT ALL! You nead loudspeakers with active volume control... The (passive) volume control of the original earphones is not working, it's just so loud, my ears still hurt :( I should have read the reviews before :-( I'd like to throw this thing away, pretty as it may be!

Does not fit with apple case!?

    • Written by from Toronto

Incredible. So annoying. I ordered it online, and no doubt it will be a hassle to return it (I'll have to return to the store, no doubt). And all because I trusted Apple to be compatible with their own products...especially at a price like this. I'm pretty disappointed.

Not workable with Apple leather case

The phone must be naked to be plugged in the dock. Not like a an "Real" Apple Product. The designer must be a fresh one :(

Don't buy this; you can have mine. Because I put an Apple leather case on my iPhone and so this base isn't usable. Does Apple really expect us to take the case off every time we want to put the phone in the base? Or use the iPhone without a case? Dumb dumb dumb.

Good, steady and beautiful but doesn't work every time with touch-id.

    • Written by from Hinnerup

I find the dock extremely steady and the iPhone fits perfectly without a case. The thing though, is that it doesn't work every time with touch-id - be aware of that.

    Waste of money.

    • Written by from CORAOPOLIS

Huge Apple fan but this is a dumb product. The fit is so tight that even a skin on the iPhone 5s won't allow the dock to accept the device.

Works fine, but where's the remote

    • Written by from Yass

When I had a 4S I had a similar dock which I connected to a speak in my office and listened to music. I could turn the volume up and down with a remote, or off when the phone rang. The new version does not seem to support this. Yes, it enables me to keep the phone charged whilst I listen to music, but the lack of remote is an oversight.

    0 stars. Worthless.

    • Written by from New York

You cannot use this dock if your iPhone 5s has a case (including official cases from Apple). The seat of this dock is molded exactly to the size of the phone. In order to attach your phone to this dock, you must remove the case. This eliminates any efficiencies you hope to gain by using this case. Additionally, there are third party docks compatible with iPhone 5s which do not have this problem (and also come with cables). Buy one of those. You will only return this product. The Apple iPhone 5s Dock should be removed from Apple's stores. Buying this was a complete waste of my time.

Does what it was designed to do and does it well

    • Written by from Tehachapi

This dock does exactly what it was designed to do, hold the iPhone while charging, Just like all the previous generations of iPhones and iPhone docks it will only work for the ones who also use their iPhones as they are intended sans case. The iPhone is an achievement in design and is a work of art. If you are one of the sheeple who needs to cover the iPhone up in a plastic sheath and put some saran wrap of a skin or screen shield. Don't blame Apple.
I was going to start by saying i can't believe how dumb some people are but I can't do that. It is unfortunately very clear. If you spend any time outside of your home you will certainly see this day in and day out also spending any amour of time on the internet it becomes abundantly clear.

    Are you serious Apple!!!

    • Written by from Plano

This is a really great dock. Your iPhone 5s will fit into it perfectly, and confidently. But!! That is also part of the problem. If you have...oh...let's say, one of Apple's beautiful leather cases for your phone, then everything nice, I've just said, goes out the door. You have to have a naked iPhone 5s, to use this dock.

So in other words, if you prefer your iPhone 5s nude, in it's beautiful self, then this dock is pretty perfect. The audio jack is a nice touch, and will work with any 3.5mm jack. BUT, if you have any kind of case on your phone, forget it.
