    Like it but....

    • Written by from Watertown

I have all apple products and love them all!! I like the smart case but I wish I bought black because it gets so dirty. Also I really do like how it stands.
When I open it the lines from the inside are on the screen. I don't think it is worth the money.

I had bought the Smart Case for the iPad 2 and I was in love with every aspect except the price. My only concern was that the Product Red iPad 2&3 Smart Case was quite flimsy and felt a little cheap. On the other hand, the functionality is exceptional and the protection this case offers makes the iPad seem like it was made to be with this case. I recently purchased an iPad Mini and I decided to purchase this case to go along. I have an iPhone 5s with the leather case and it is not only protective but quite stylish. Unfortunately the case does wear very poorly and it is not as appealing to look at as it did originally. But I do not use my iPad as much as my iPhone so I don't believe it should wear as poorly because I will not be sliding it in and out of my pocket. So far (the past 2 weeks), I have quite enjoyed this case because not only can I put my iPad into multiple positions, but it looks amazing. I would recommend this case if you will be using your iPad for work or school because for the style and protection, it seems like a suitable price. If you will be using your iPad for in-house use, I would not recommend this case because it would not be worth the price. Hope this was helpful!!

    Great case

Just bought this case for my iPad mini with retina display and I love it so far. It does fall down somewhat easily , but that is easy to deal with, looks great, and recommend.

    NOT as shown, not working

    • Written by from Brooklyn

It's a shame that I have to give it a star. The pictures shows a 60 degree standing angle, but actually, MORE THAN 90 degree, which means it can't stand on a desk by itself. Use your hand to support it or left it shallow which I would not recommend.

    Does not protect if fallen

    • Written by from Los Angeles

Very badly desgined case. The iPad mini easily slips off the case, and if fallen, absolutely does not protect the iPad in any way -- indeed, after one fall, iPad screen completely cracked. The iPad first landed on one of its sides (leading to the cracked screen) and then the iPad itself slipped off the case. Conclusion: this case doesn't even protect from side impacts. Also, viewing angles are very inconvenient, and the front cover does not stay closed (it easily opens).

    A nearly-perfect case

    • Written by from New City

When I first got my ipad mini, I bought a Speck FitFolio cover to go with it. I liked the fit of the Speck cover, as it was lightweight, protected the front of my mini, and propped up well. The problem was that fit in my hands rather awkwardly when I'd fold the cover back to hold it. Also, there was no auto wake/sleep feature, which started to irk me after a few weeks of use.

So when Apple released a Smart Case for the mini, I rejoiced - I loved the luxurious look of the case and was delighted that one was finally available for my ipad.

After several months of use, I can say that the Smart Case for iPad Mini is the perfect case for my needs. It's extremely lightweight and has a wonderful texture. It's not the most protective case for the mini, but I have (accidentally!) dropped my mini from several feet without any harm coming to it. The cover folds back perfectly, and allows for comfortable one-handed reading (have I mentioned the mini is an amazing ereader? because it is!). And even though the hinge-fold on the left irked me at first, I soon discovered that a small stylus clips onto it perfectly!

Really, my only quibble with the smart case is that it does not prop up well. The only two available angles are really not the best viewing/typing angles, and they do not secure that well - in this regard, the Speck case is definitely superior. However, I will not be switching cases again, ever. It's an expensive case, yes, but why outfit an expensive electronic device with something cheap and inferior?

I love the brown leather case. Has the look of a nice leather book, and doesn't add much in weight.

Great if you never use it

    • Written by from Cumming

The first impression of this case is incredibly positive. This is a gorgeous case.
After about three weeks with moderate use, the case completely falls apart. The leather starts to sag. The small area near the lightening connector will break. It overall feels like a deflated balloon.

    Not functioning properly

Very disappointed. We are an Apple house and love all our accessories..but this specific one is a lemon. My husband has an iPad 3 and his works perfectly. Don't be a dope like me and keep your wrapping and receipt ;)

    Best case I've owned

    • Written by from Leavenworth

Listen, I'm a bit of an iPad case junkie and this was the LAST case I thought I'd like, but it's perfect for me. Pros: an exact lightweight fit; the leather (it's aging nicely); the cover stays on well. Cons: the three-way stand isn't great, but I have various use stands at home and office, so this is not an issue. Also, it's leather, so if you're all OCD about marks, scratches, etc., choose your color carefully.

Well let me start of by saying I like the way it feels on my iPad mini and the look of it.
I also like the stand for it. However I gave it 4 stars as the case looks slightly loose and it looks like the iPad can easily fall out.

Works well but here is a suggestion

    • Written by from WINTER PARK

Why not add some clips on the sides to the folding cover so it can use the entire cover extended to sit upright?

The triangle fold design works for upright position but only on firm and even surfaces. Using the entire cover would give it a firmer stance.

Overall this is a functional apple product but more of that great Apple creativity could be added to it

    It's "Okay"

    • Written by from Meridian

The other reviewers are "spot on".....it's a really nice cover, protects the mini well, love the leather (I have the black one), but the magnets are so weak, you can't use it horizontally on a desk for typing. It continually falls flat. Go for a different case.

Well. Case looks nice, fits etc. BUT......

Three positions to use the iPad..

Flat.. which of course is ok.

Then for some fracking reason, Apple designed two
use angle of like 20 degrees and 80 degrees.. They
must have put there "C" team on the case design !

What where they thinking.. To low to use and to high
to use, basic Human Factor stuff. Need 30,45, 70 degrees.
Goodness, If they had tested or tried to use it for
    a minute.

For 70 dollars no less, you CAN GET WAY MEGA
    better cases for less money.

Useless case, doesn't fit the iPad right

    • Written by from Lafayette

I love the idea, love the look, but in reality, this case is extremely lacking.

My main issue is that it does not fold all the way back. There always seems to be a hump when folded back. The triangle stand function does not stay together and the iPad constantly falls. Then, the magnets are not strong enough to stay together when closed and it flops open constantly.

I would not recommend this case.

this case is awesome! the brown one looks great with the space grey iPad mini and has a great feel! the only drawback is that the colour begins to darken and wear off within days - if not for this, then this case would have an easy five stars
