Rubber Ear buds fall off very easily and get lost right away. Design flaw and not worth it for the price.

    Poor Build Quality

    • Written by from Pottstown

I got a pair of in-ear headphones when they were redesigned a few years ago. The sound quality is quite good, for the price and for in-ear headphones. However, after a few months, the left earbud would no longer produce any sound. I took good care of them, wrapping them and storing them safely whenever they were not in use, so I didn't think it was a problem on my end. I took them into my local (read: 45-minute away) Apple Store, and had them exchanged for another pair, as they were still under warranty. Again, good audio quality, but the same problem happened in about six months. To save some time, I'll just say that today, my sixth pair (all replaced under warranty) died in the left earbud. Apple told me last time that they will no longer give me any replacements, even though the warranty is technically renewed every time I brought in a broken pair, and I am still within a year of the last exchange.

Thank you, Apple, for poor customer service on your poorly built headphones. I'll be getting my headphones from a trusted manufacturer, this time.

    Best

    • Written by from WARRENVILLE

I listen to high quality music and hours upon hours a day - everyday- and these are the most comfortable, best sounding I have ever worn in my life. I've owned Sony's, Bose's, Stein's, and Panasonic's, etc. I throw out the original headphones that come with the Iphone's in the box because their ya know :) Comfort is the most important, and then sound quality, sound immersion/isolation, and these deliver. Amazing... Just believe me and get them.

    Best I have found.

    • Written by from UNIVERSITY PLACE

These are still my go-to in-ear headphones. I hear the music in very crisp, clear tones, not muffled like so many of the VERY EXPENSIVE in-ear and over-ear headphones I have purchased. I also do a lot of dictation, and the quality of these earphones is so far above, yes, the expensive ones.

    I was surprised

    • Written by from Watauga

I got these as a Christmas gift 2009, well they're still going strong. The mic doesn't work but I don't even use it anyways. These ear buds have been through A LOT, I've probably washed them in the washer like 5 times and have been through the dryer twice. Still sound as good as they day I unwrapped them, and the inline volume and music controls still work. But with their age they are beginning to fall apart a little, but for the 80$ we paid, I'd say they were well spent.

    Not worth it

    • Written by from Waipahu

I thought that at $80, these would sound better than the free set that came with my iPhone. Playing the same song on my iPhone, I tried all three sizes of silicone in-ear buds, pushed and held them in as far as I could comfortably handle, and they still didn't have the frequency response of the ear buds that came with my iPhone. They sounded like they were EQ'd for AM radio. Fully unimpressed. If I can't return these for full credit, I would trade them straight up for the cheaper ones.

    Higher Expectations...Especially for the Price!

    • Written by from Grand Prairie

These headphones cost more than 2x as much as the regular 29.99 ones, but the sound quality is literally the same, but that's not the worst part: the little plastic earbuds fall off all the time! I've already lost the one in my size, so I can only have one earbud in my ear. For the price, you'd expect to have these for at least a year, but no can do. Apple, please fix this ear bud issue, I can't use mine anymore and I've only had them for a couple of months.

    Don't waste your money

    • Written by from Glasgow

I wish I'd seen these reviews before I bought these headphones a month ago. The site I purchased thru didn't have this much feedback. I'm very disappointed in the lack of bass...the earphones that came in the box with my iPhone 6 have better sound quality, but won't stay in place. I've tried all three tip sizes that came with this earphones and these still won't fit properly or give the sound quality I'd like. I don't know if I have really small ears or the tips don't give enough variety of sizes for a correct fit. Based on some of the reviews I've read here, I may have to try some kind of replacement tips to see if it will help. Read all the reviews herecarefully before you consider if these are for you.

    Still love them.

    • Written by from Calgary

I've had these for 2 years now. With lossless content, great sound. However, the soft tips do only last several months. I've been able to get replacements from the Apple store, which works for me.
Keeping them in the original case all the time has kept them well.
The sound from these is fairly flat, but I like that because I can use the equalizer settings in iTunes to customize it for the genre I'm listening to.

    Beautiful but terrible.

    • Written by from RENO

Beautiful headphones, but terrible sound quality, as well mine didn't come with the extra mesh protectors. Great highs terrible lows. Doesn't matter which cushions you use. The headphones that come with the iPhones and iPods have way better sound qualities. Too bad they don't fit as well as these though. Not worth $80 due to sound qualities. Also why wouldn't these earbuds come with Apple products?

    Not Good

I had the other ear phones that cost $30 and they were way better, these in ear ones aren't as comfortable and these don't last as long at least in my case, not worth the extra money.

The earbuds just don't fall off! Good pair, little pricy for what you get.

    • Written by from Ponte Vedra Beach

I hate to hear people say the earbuds fall off of their ears. That's because they don't know how do wear them or they have never tried inear earbuds before. I have been wearing inear headphones for four years now. Till this day there has been no problem of earbuds falling off of my ears. Because I try all sizes of earbuds and go for the right size. And these Apple inear headphones earbuds just don't fall off. They are really comfortable and air tight if you choose the right size. I have bought a dozen of inear headphones in recent years.
I am not particularly impressed for the sound I get for the price I paid. Maybe because I tried Shure SE425 right before trying these for the first time or they haven't burned in yet. Still it's a decent pair. I've had klipsch Image S4 a few years back and they sounded slightly better than these. Because I suppose they were tuned to sound wonderful regardless what a music is supposed to sound when it was made. Just like Bose headphones adds 'fake but good' sound I heard. My AKG K77 I bought to practice guitar sounds better than this, too. Cause it has different specs, it's made for a different purpose. But these Apple inears sounds good for they give original sound I think. I bought them because they are the most affordable dual driver headphones. Design wise it's perfect, two drivers to fit in in such a tiny little thing. Other headphones have unnecessary shapes that I hate. I think these are good but little pricy for the sound. If you don't care for the dual drivers, go for the Klipsch Image S4, it was chosen as the best affordable in-ear headphones by CNet. Otherwise Apple in-ears are very nice, too.
Again, the earbuds just don't fall off. NO, THEY DONT!

    Second Pair - Very Satisfied!

    • Written by from Richardson

I see many of the mediocre reviews, but having used these headphones for two to three years and now buying a new pair, I think these are great. I've always felt the bass is good and the overall sound quality is high. You just have to make sure they fit snugly into you ear and get "seated" which takes a few extra seconds when putting them on. Once there, you're all set!

Most inconvenient headphones I've ever had, especially for the price!!

    • Written by from CHAPEL HILL

The earbuds fall off constantly even with basic movement. I am now conditioned to treat them like something that could fall apart at any moment. It's so terrible that I've considered superglueing them on, but at this point I've lost almost all the rubber buds so the ones I'm using are mismatched. I would never buy these again unless they figure out a better way to connect the tips to the headphones. Way too expensive to be this poorly built.

    Good buds...

    • Written by from Calgary

I must admit the sound quality is really good. However, living in a dry climate (Calgary) like I do, I have noticed, after time, static electricity build up on the metallic speakers to which the rubber buds attach to. Sometimes the discharge of static electricity is quite painful, so I remedied the situation by taking clear tape and adhering to the speakers on both the left and right side. It definitely solved the problem, but I hoped I wouldn't have resorted to such measures. Out of really good ear buds that I've used, these are good except that.

    Thanks for your attention.

Remote is great; sound not so much

    • Written by from Los Gatos

These are great if your audio is limited to mono conference calls with your boss. If you're interested in listening to much on these things, make sure it's not rap, as there is 0% bass. The remote is awesome, enabling you to shuffle through your music (sorry, conference calls) quickly.

They sound tinny, shrill, and way too bright for anything other than Brian Eno or EDM. Into dubstep? Do NOT buy these headphones.

It's a good headphone but Apple is not making headphones as their main thing so I suggest going with the Apple EarPods their are extremely great sounding headphones I have ever seen and it's just $30.But,if you like In-Ear Headphones go with the others or take this one.

Decent performance and great ergonomics but not for audiophiles

    • Written by from Huntington Park

These in-ear headphones are great. They do a great job at canceling out outside noise and while still providing crisp and clear audio. However, they lack range in bass. They are a comfortable fit and if they seem to be of great quality, but we'll see how long they last. They are worth a look if you're looking for headphones that are a comfortable fit, lightweight, and want outside noise canceling. When I blast these headphones I'm able to completely isolate myself from the outside world and the best part is nobody knows what I'm listening too. There is minimal sound leak which make them perfect for use in quiet areas. I'm a college student and think they are worth it if it fits these needs, but if you're looking for the best sound with rich deep bass, then you should look elsewhere, but at this price range, you'll be hard pressed to find similar headphones with this kind of sound quality and beautiful ergonomics.

In detail, but sound field is weird.

    • Written by from muncie

This is a pair of good in-ear headphone. Light weight, well designed, comfortable. This is one of the cheapest two unit in-ear headphone that you can get now. The sound is good in detail and balanced. But the sound field is weird; it shapes like a triangle, listener is like near one of the corner. At the same time, the voice may sound thinner than studio-level monitor headphones. But in general, it is a pair of good in-ear headphone that goes with any mobile devices.
