I love the sound (and I'm a professional musician)

    • Written by from NEW YORK

Love the fit and the sound. Most earbuds are too big for my ears, painful to wear. The sound is great. I have no idea why people say the silicon buds fall off, I've never had that experience and I wear them a LOT. Maybe they chose the wrong size out of the three that come with the earphones? Just a guess.

    Great Earphones!

    • Written by from Ottawa

These are truly worth the 90 Dollars I paid for them. First off, let me just say that the review that say the bass is weak are wrong. The sound is actually balanced without boosting a single frequency. The sound is wonderfully accurate and the tone is very accurate. I highly recommend these as they are truly worth the money.

no bass, not worth the price

    • Written by from Mérignac

It's all in the title, this headphone delivers almost no bass sounds. I am very disapointed with this purchase, especially considering the relatively high price. I wasn't expecting Apple to ship this kind of poor quality product,

    DON"T BUY!!!

    • Written by from LA CROSSE

As much as I love Apple. I don't like these in-ear headphones with remote and mic. They are built very poorly. I got these for free because the original Apple in-ear remote/mic stop working after 2 years, so Apple was kindly enough to send these for free. But I kept on having to buy replacement buds on Amazon every 3 weeks because they kept on falling off and I couldn't find them.

So I advice you to purchase the new earbuds with mic or the ones without mic.

Seal the ear well enough - like ear plugs

    • Written by from Woodway

I use mine to block out the loud noise of a roommate (&TV) or the snoring of a spouse. Besides, you cannot beat the comfort of wearing these throughout the night. I just love these, even more than the ones from my iPhone 5

    Poor durability, good sound quality

    • Written by from San Francisco

    Pros:
    - Good sound quality (for price)
    - Much more comfortable than "earpods"

    Cons:
    - Very fragile. I'm on my 6th pair (seriously!)

Fortunately Apple has replaced my for free every time they've broken, but it's annoying to go into the store so frequently to have them replaced.

I wish these can be included with iPhones

    • Written by from Richmond

I used to use a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which came with some really good in-ear headphones. However, I got an iPhone 4s to replace it because of a carrier switch. I still liked the in-ears but they wouldn't be able to control an iPhone so I decided to turn to Apple to find some. These are what I bought, and they're exactly the same sound quality and comfort as the Samsung ones, and they can control an iPhone because that's what they were designed for. The only con I have is that they're separately purchased items from the phone, but that's OK because they're well worth the $80.

    Apple In-Ear Headphones

    • Written by from Bethel

I bought these headphones about a week ago as a treat to myself. I will admit these headphones do a horrible job at making a good first impression. My advice? Be patient. The first mistake I found myself making was using the incorrect size of earbuds. I recommend you sit sown make a playlist of your favorite tunes. Load your playlist into you iPod/Phone, and start experimenting/sizing the perfect ear bud cap size. At first, I thought that I was a small, after a few days later I was ready to just give up and return them. I decided to do a resize and tried the medium size caps. Best decision of my life. The sound quality improved so much. You might think you have the right cap size on and that these head phones are being stupid, but give it a second try after a bit of use and you'll see you were wrong the entire time. One thing to really keep in mind is, these headphones tend to be quite honest in delivering sound. What I mean is, forget about the fake boomy basses. You won't get that out of these headphones. As for Apple, you lost a start for quality. They feel flimsy and fragile. Other than that, GREAT product!

    Decent price and quality

    • Written by from Flushing

I wanted to get an in ear headpiece. Narrowed it down to the Sennheiser MM30i and this one. I usually use headphones (over the ear type) if I listen at home so this was basically when on the move outdoors. The Senn has much stronger bass, but I suppose the trade off is the clearer sound... but the apple in ear is much more clearer with the sound and just felt much better to listen to the type of music I usually listen to. Spoke to a friend who is a sound engineer and he explained that I ll mainly be using it in noisy environments (subway, bus, while walking on the streets etc) and that a strong bass the Senns offered may not be the most ideal for ear health and best music experience.....so I went with these.....one thing I must say about the bass if you find it lacking...using the EQ settings on the iPhone for "bass boost" does make a noticeable difference....just gotta play around with the preset modes and you get the best out of the headphones. That s just my experience. Hope that helps

Great Headphones, but are without replacement tips and good Isolation

    • Written by from Waterford

These are great headphones, but they don't isolate as well as I'd like. My only reason for buying In-Ear headphones is for isolation. I eventually bought Etymotic MC5 headphones because they have much better isolation.

My other problem is that Apple doesn't sell replacement eartips and mesh caps for them. Without replacements eartips and mesh caps, these headphones become useless as soon as you lose either the eartips or mesh caps.

    • Written by from Estero

I have had tow pair of these and now use a very small motor winding wire to run around the silicon ear buds to keep the from coming off.

If you loose the the apple store will give you a new set instead of replacement buds

Very satisfied for the price I paid -- Better than $150 Bose, etc.

    • Written by from Cedar Park

Just got my iPhone5s. Ear pod that comes with the phone is good but not for workout. I bought and returned 3 pairs of high-end ear buds (Bose, and others) but none of them worked for me.

This pair did it for me. For the price I paid you can't go wrong. Yes it has lack of bass but it's not that bad. Excellent sound clarity and it stays in your ear. I highly recommend it.

    Great Sound - Badly Made

    • Written by from Newcastle Upon Tyne

Amazing sound, however the plastic ear buds keep falling off and i lost my replacements within a few month... I got another pair thinking it might have been a fault, however same again. The metal screw-in, which also helps to keep the buds on fell off as well. Apple don't sell the replacement buds so I'd spend your money on another brand.

    Good sound but poorly designed

    • Written by from Omaha

I like the sound of the earbuds. The frequency is very balanced very close to the professional studio monitors I use. If you are like the majority of people who like a loud bass, these are not your choice. If you look for a balanced and accurate sound, these are perfect.
While the sound is very good, the design is pretty bad. Most earbuds I've owned, they all have some sort of a lip/ring on the earbud tube that goes into the tip and there is also a ring on the tip to lock to the earbud tube. The Apple version is a smooth tube on the tip and earbud. As you use them, grease gets between the surfaces and tip slides off very easily. It's not difficult to solve the issue by offering a filter in a bigger diameter and retool the tip tooling to add a ring inside the tip tube so they interlock when tip is on the tube.

    Ho Hum

    • Written by from San Diego

Not great earphones. As other reviewers have mentioned, poor bass.

I have plenty of ear pieces as I'm on my fourth set of these. I stopped losing ear pieces when I stopped dragging the headset out of my pocket - otherwise, they do come off easily.

Notice I said I'm on my fourth set. They are not a durable product. They have the iPhone controls and they work good for phone calls. They also stay in your ear more securely than the set that comes with the iPhone. I've just reconciled with the fact that I have to buy a pair every six months.

They stink for music and when I sit at my desk, I use the new design buds that come with the 5s. Eons better for music.

Like a lot of Apple faithful, I buy their junk because I'm a sheep and I need the iPhone controls.

    Join me if you're rich!

    pretty good

    • Written by from Deux-montagnes

Its been more than 2 year, and they still works great. The left one laggs when the volume is a the max (since last month), and the biggest thing is that they are loosing up after a year of use, so you have to be carefull not to loose them. In general, I think they are extremly good for earphones, in sound quality and quality in general, they take less space than any headphones, so thats good too. I'm buying an other pair for the next two years when they break, and I totally recommend them ;)

    Good sound, small package, fragile

    • Written by from Franklin

These have great sound, if they fit your ears properly. When fitted in, they block most external sound and provide good bass, without needing to crank the volume, even on airplanes. However, the silicone buds do tend to come off easily and often, usually in my ear when removing the headphones. Also, the sound can get distorted after debris builds up in the tiny mesh.
Overall, I'm very happy with them and used them regularly for at least two years.
