    Misleading Reviews

    • Written by from Maroussi

I rarely write reviews for products. But while I was taking a look at the reviews that were written for Apple In-Ear Headphones, I felt that some stuff must be named the right way.
The product has an exceptional value for money. For 89 EUR (Greek Price) NO other competitive headphones offers the volume, quality and precision of sound In-Ear Headphones does. Just for that product deserves five stars. Additionally the isolation level is high and a frequent air plain traveler with hundreds of flight hours with either turbine as well as propeller engines, say that.
Complains about on ear stability cannot judge a piece of sound reproduction and can easily be settled using different ear tip size or by keep them clean.

You'll be sorry you bought these

    • Written by from Cambridge

The earbud tips pop off all the time (simply taking them out of your pocket will cause them to fall off). And once you lose the tips, these $80 earbuds are useless.

For those that are already suffering this miserable design, I found that you can buy 12-pack replacements on Amazon for $10. If you are traveling, you'll want spares.

Also worth noting, if you use these while exercising, they will short out causing your iDevice to skip songs or jump into fast forward mode.

One of the rare examples of an Apple product that is truly awful.

    Very Disappointing!

    • Written by from Anywhere

I purposely upgraded from the standard ear buds to the high-end model, fully expecting a dramatic improvement in sound and comfort.

To be fair, these are noticeably more comfortable than the standard issue model, allowing extended usage without wearer fatigue, common with the lesser model.

Unfortunately, the improvement in audio is only marginally better, and specifically limited to high frequencies. The single greatest drawback of these ear buds is their shocking inabliity to reproduce low frequency sound faithfully. I thought I was listening to an old AM radio when using these!

Switching between the different size silicon inserts offered no improvement in fidelity or even appreciably improved sound isolation from exterior noise.

To convince myself I wasn't imagining all this, I did an A/B comparision with a pair of J-Labs J6 J-Buds. There was no contest. While both reproduced high frequencies admirably, the J-Labs were so vastly superior with low frequencies, there simply was no comparison at all.

Do yourself a favor and save yourself $80 with these. J-Labs are just better and at a fraction of the cost (I got mine for $24.99 at Amazon).

As a professional broadcaster for 37 years, take my word for it - these AREN"T worth it!

    The Worst of all

    • Written by from LONG ISLAND CITY

    pros:
-it's more comfortable than the old ones
    - louder
    Cons:
-I returned it twice to apple because of technical problems
first time it keeps playing and changing songs by itself
second time: the volume keeps breaking off and on by itself

i have the old apple headphones they were not a disappointment like the new version and for 30$ not worth it.

    very unhappy

    • Written by from Carlisle

The plug broke off in my iPad and could not be removed. Because it was deemed to be physical damage to the iPad (less than a year old), the warranty did not cover damage to the iPad.

Earphones no longer useable, and iPad destroyed, no thanks to Apple.

    Replacement Sleeves/Tips

    • Written by from Indianapolis

These headphones rival the best out of the box. However, if your looking for replacement sleeves/tips, Sure EA306 Triple Flange Sleeves will only make them better. They can be purchased for less than $10 and you get three sets. For those with complaints, I encourage you to give these a whirl. I did make a slight modification to fit my ears by cutting off the smallest flange, thereby leaving two flanges.

    Best I have found.

    • Written by from UNIVERSITY PLACE

These are still my go-to in-ear headphones. I hear the music in very crisp, clear tones, not muffled like so many of the VERY EXPENSIVE in-ear and over-ear headphones I have purchased. I also do a lot of dictation, and the quality of these earphones is so far above, yes, the expensive ones.

    I was surprised

    • Written by from Watauga

I got these as a Christmas gift 2009, well they're still going strong. The mic doesn't work but I don't even use it anyways. These ear buds have been through A LOT, I've probably washed them in the washer like 5 times and have been through the dryer twice. Still sound as good as they day I unwrapped them, and the inline volume and music controls still work. But with their age they are beginning to fall apart a little, but for the 80$ we paid, I'd say they were well spent.

    Excellent Sound & Comfortable

    • Written by from Longview

I really like these earbuds, but I keep losing the rubber ear pieces. I cannot get replacements unless I buy a new set of headphones...

These are great for flying on planes since they cut our external sounds.

    • Written by from Olomouc

    Pros
    - they look cool
    Cons
    - $15 earbuds soundquality, not better
    - when walk the cable constantly rattles in your ears
    - doesn't play equal, highs and bass changes dramaticall when a little moving speaker in ear
    - rubber pieces lose
    - remote has shar ends which often take hold on clothes
As a big fan of Apple products i'm affraid this is big disappointment. i bought new $30 and it works much better for strolling the streets and enjoying the music.

Bass is bad. Returned to Apple.

    • Written by from Austin

I am very exacting about my music. To give you an idea of my taste; I have a custom music surround system at home, i.e., Denon Receiver, Paradigm speakers, monster cables, etc.. You get the idea right..

These by far reproduce bad music. Bass is totally bad. If you compare this even with the old round earphones you can find the difference. The new Apple's ear pods are far superior compared to these. I bought them and I am totally satisfied with the product. I strongly recommend the EarPods with Remote and Mic (MD827LL/A).

    Amazing headphones... Minor problems

    • Written by from Parleys Islans

These are the best in-ear style headphones I have ever owned. Sound quality and comfort are exceptional. Only problem Ive found after a year is the mesh screens becoming blocked/clogged. This is easily fixed with a can of dust off. Overall great headphones.

    Great Fit

    • Written by from Edinboro

I've had these headphones for over a year now and they still work great even after going through the wash. They fit in my ears better than the iPhone 4 or iPhone 5 standard headphones, and stay put very well while I'm running

sound is good, but ear piece keeps falling off

    • Written by from Edgewater

and typical apple, you can't just buy a replacement of the ear piece, but you'll have to spend the whole $75 again for buying the whole headphone again ... would rather go for something that doesn't have an ear piece
