Reviews for iPad mini Smart Cover - Blue

I made the mistaken assumption that this cover will be similar to one for the Ipad - covering both sides. What a disappointment to find it offers only a cover for the front. This was a gift, so I can't return it.

This is thing is perfect!

If you enjoy putting the cover back on when it comes off (repeatedly) AND picking your iPad up off the table when the weak little tri-fold stand gives way, by all means GET ONE!

Otherwise, go find something else, anything else.

Shame on you Apple.

I just got my iPad mini as a Christmas gift, and this cover is okay. It keeps the screen clean and clear when I'm not using it, however it has a few downsides.

1. Cover falls off a lot because the magnets aren't very strong.
2. Stand always collapses if it is touched gently or unbalanced and the iPad falls.
3. When I drop it, the cover falls off and the iPad screen is exposed, which is exactly what the cover is supposed to protect in the first place. :(

Overall the cover gets a 3-star review because it keeps the screen clean, and adds color to the iPad, but the inferior quality is a problem.

You let me down, Apple.

My main issue is the size of the cover. It is just slightly wider than the iPad mini so that it buckles when the iPad is held from the right side. Other than that, the magnets are satisfactorily strong.

Cover comes off easily, especially when carrying. Back is unprotected. The cover concept is disappointing. I hope Apple makes a case for the Mini very soon.

The smart cover is a great looking product, but it doesn't perform it's function very well. I've tried many times to make the iPad stand up using the smart cover, and it works... but only for a few minutes before gravity causes both of them to topple over. The worst however is that the magnet that attaches to the iPad is very weak. One day I was holding the product as I was walking and the cover became dislodged, causing my iPad to tumble down onto hard tile. My screen is cracked as a result. I wish I got a real case that worked and offered proper protection.

I went to Apple store near by. They did not have any 3rd party case or cover. So I bought. So far I enjoyed as stand to watch video and as cover to protect. Easy to detach. Not so bad option as I wish price could be little less.

It fits and stays on well, and most importantly to me stays tightly closed! Since I carry mine in my huge hobo bag and things get bounced around a lot, I worry about the screen getting scratched. However, this never has slipped open or off my mini. Great, can't-do-without accessory for the price!
