    Wish it was better

    I have the original smart cover for my full size iPad and for the most part, the iPad mini smart cover works the same way.

    I like how there are no metal parts to this smart cover since it did leave some scratches on my full size iPad however I've noticed the cover itself has wiggle room. It's pretty annoying when I have my iPad mini in my bag and all I hear is clicking as the iPad is waking up and sleeping since the smart cover is not staying put.

    Of course if that wasn't an issue, the maximum number of stars I'd give for the cover is 4 stars when we consider the price and the lack of coverage for the back of the iPad.

    Why there is not cover for both sides?!

    I really like the color and material ,but I wish it would have cover for the back of ipad mini.
    For Ipad 2 I bought the same color and that one is more safe because it can cover the both sides.

    I am an Apple aficionado but this cover is only partly right.

    The magnet works, it fits, is available in several colors but.....the stand position does not work not when it is new and not now after several weeks of use.

    No back protection and for the fashionistas under us the colors are harsh.

    Will probably replace this with a another cover that fits my needs.

    My advice, wait and seek another cover.

    I wish ipad mini had a cover like the ipad that it would sit into. I find the smart cover works as a cover, but as a stand it is always coming off the magnetic strip.

    I should note that I am a big fan of the Smart Cover. I have forgone other, more protective cases in favor of the look, feel and usability of the Smart Cover on our iPad 2. And as far as look and feel go, the Smart Cover for the iPad Mini lives up to its predecessor. My Product (RED) version looks stunning against the slate and black of my Mini.

    Unfortunately, when it comes to function, the Smart Cover for iPad Mini begins to fall short. There are two glaring issues that I have already come across multiple times in my short 2 days of use:

    1. If you are not careful when putting the Smart Cover on, it very easily latches on too high or too low on your iPad Mini, forcing you to pull it off and try again. Is it particularly difficult to attach correctly? No. But still a minor inconvenience nonetheless, as my use case scenario involves taking the Smart Cover off of the iPad Mini each night and reapplying it the next morning.

    2. I am not sure whether the following results from the new fabric covered latch, the smaller size of the Smart Cover or a combination of both, but the new Smart Cover for iPad Mini is almost useless as a keyboard stand (the terminology that Apple uses to describe the Smart Cover folded up to slightly prop up the iPad when in a horizontal position) on your lap. It seems to work fine when on a hard surface like a table, but when used in this manner on your lap, the iPad Mini slides towards you, flipping the Smart Cover up and leaving your iPad Mini flat on it's back on your lap.

    I don't think that these two issues should stop you from buying the Smart Cover for your iPad Mini, but just be aware - all is not perfect.

    iPad Cover vs. Case

    The iPad Case is required for such a delicate product. The cover is cool but not sufficient.
