Apple Wasted Three Years of Development

Fall out of my ears in about 10 seconds unless I'm sitting still. Hey it's cool I shouldn't walk or run and also try to listen to music.

    Really People?

I dont know why these are getting such good reviews. They came with my iPhone 5. I couldn't find my Sony's one day so i figured i would give them a shot. I didn't know Apple had managed to make plain plastic earbuds MORE uncomfortable. They have zero weight so they don't hang properly in your ear and the sound is thin and hollow. These have zero redeeming value, not even as a backup pair. I would give 0 stars but that isn't an option.

    Sound great...won't stay in place

I love the sound quality of the new EarPods but they do not stay in my ear for more than a few seconds before I have to adjust them. I have all but given up on them at this point.

Better earphones but still falls out

They def sound better, however they constantly fall out of my ears. I recommend trying them first because its a waste if you can't even use them. Can't even use headphones after spending 300 bucks on a new iphone..... fail

    volume control too sensitive

    • Written by from steep falls

12 of 27 people found this useful

The control piece (remote) in the wire when it touches my shirt collar or even my skin turns the volume down to basically off constantly!!! Almost impossible to get volume turned back up, have to use the buttons on the side of the phone. It's got to be defective. No one else is complaining about such a problem so tomorrow going to Apple store to exchange for another pair. They fit my ears great even when sweating stacking wood and better sound Quality than my old pair. I got them with my iPhone 5.

    Ears are weird....

....but mine must be weirder than most! These are way too big for my ears and they hurt when you try to shove them in. I'm sure it is next to impossible to fit every size ear....nice try though!! I 'll stick to my old ones!

    Way too big

    • Written by from Chicago

40 of 63 people found this useful

The ear buds are just too large, and the hard plastic is not fun. If I want to use them I have to force them into my ears, and naturally they hurt my ears after awhile. The hard plastic is brutal, and of course, has no give. Apple needs to make these in a smaller size or make them more moldable/softer.

    Painful to Wear

    • Written by from North Hollywood

Purchased these having read all the great reviews, and what a mistake.
Won't stay in the ear if you're moving at all. If you really twist them hard into your ear, they'll stay put, but then they're extremely uncomfortable, and cause actual pain.
Very disappointed, especially after all the glowing reviews.

    EarPods Too Big (Again)

    • Written by from Rochester

Like other people, I could not use the prior Apple earbuds, because they simply didn't fit in my ears... they were just too big. After having this problem with each iPhone I've had (and I've had them all), I was really hoping the redesigned, more inner-ear type would finally work for me. Alas, no such luck; they repeat the one-size-does-not-fit-all design of the prior earbuds. The earpods stay in only if I don't move, and since they're barely in, I only get a portion of the sound with a lot of ambient noise. I guess it's back to strict inner ear type for me, where you get different size cushions to give the proper fit your ear needs. So, if you had this problem with the old Apple ear buds, look elsewhere for your ear phone needs.

Really great but poor connection to iPhone 5

    • Written by from El Cerrito

These fit great in my ears and I think they would actually stay in my ears but cannot use them because unless I hold the jack tightly in to make the connection they don't work...the sound still comes from the speakers unless I am pushing in on the jack...this is a problem... I will try a new pair...returning these to Apple Store and will review again. Disappointed.

    Doesn't fit all ears

    • Written by from Orlando

These are the worst fitting earbuds, I have owned. Obviously, most users like them, but they definitely won't accommodate everyone. If I sit motionless, they are comfortable enough. However, they fall out when I simply walk - forget about jogging, jumping, or moving my head around in any direction.

The sound quality is OK, but nothing that sounded better than other earbuds I have owned. This could be due to the bad fit for my ears. Seems like the design-fit actually aided the sound. With a bad fit, comes mediocre sound I guess.

Try 'em before you buy 'em if at all possible.

    1star rating for terrible headphones!!!!!

I have no clue how these headphones got such high ratings.. And I am went to purchase them based on the overall rating, which were high!! BUT DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!! I purchased $20 dollars headphones and they are much better!!! The APPLE EARPODS have one thing going for them- their name!!! But I am absolutely flabbergasted in how people think these EARPODS are great?? I have to assume they have never purchased great earbuds.. I have tried over 5 different brands and have spent over 150 dollars for earbuds and these 30 dollars are not worth 5 dollars to me because they do NOT FIT IN MY EAR. They DO NOT provide Noise Cancellation. Who ever engineered these should go back to the drawing board and figure out a way to provide a more UNIVERSAL fitting earpods!!! And to provide noise CANCELLATION!! Sound quality is good but not awesome! But for $30 dollars sound quality is good!

    Earbuds slip out easily

I know these were re-designed to fit better in the ear, but maybe using a general shape for all wasn't a good idea. I have to constantly put them back in even when i'm standing still. Not a fan of these new earphones. Sorry. I will need to go back to my old ones.

    Just like the old pair...

    • Written by from San Diego

These things still don't fit right (for me, at least). They just float around in my ear hole. Because of this, the sound is still tinny and boring.

I've now noticed the inline remote works with my MacBook Pro, but that's about it. Just as weak as its predecessor. Save your money for something better...

Painful and do not stay in

    • Written by from Fresno

I bought these to replace the original ones that came with my 4S after loosing them. This was all they had at the Apple store. The description states that they rest comfortably inside and stay inside a variety of ear types. They do not rest comfortably or stay inside my ear. They did not stay in my ear at all. I tried moving them around hoping that would make them stay in and found they pinch the inside of my ear and cause pain.

I bought the EarPods last week and the sound quality is excellent, but they hurt my ears, and they go out very easily, not as comfortable as I was expecting, maybe in the next update.

The headphones still don't stay in your ear, even after the new design they still slip out when walking or moving your head. I would never recommend anybody buy these.

..if I could. Somehow Apple managed to design these to stay in my ear WORSE that any of their previous designs. When I put them in, bloop, they fall right back out. At least the ones that came with my iPhone 3gs would pretend to stay in place for about 5 minutes.

I will continue using my Bose mie2i earphones. They sound good and fit AMAZING. I suggest purchasing a set from BestBuy with their accidental damage warranty...well worth it.
