Overall good, but could use improvement

    • Written by from New York

These earphones are great. The sound quality is so much better than the old ones, and others can't hear what you are listening to (like the old ones). However, I do find that these earphones don't last very long. Apple should find a way to improve durability so that they last longer.

    Good Set

    • Written by from Norfolk

These are a way better set of head phones then previous sets that Apple was distributing with there devices. They fit well and don't fall off when I run. Sound quality is not great, but its not horrible. There don't have much base, but they are clear. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

    Wow I was Surprised!!!

    • Written by from Amsterdam

Being that my lab partner of the past two years, initially made a connection off the strength of having the same Mac Pros, I can say whole heartily that I trust his just judgment, but even I was hesitant when he said that these pods, where on par with his $100+ Bose.

Being that I'm really particular about sound, so much so that I own a $250 pair just for gaming, still after seeing how happy he was i wanted in. Picked them up today and after getting past the difficult packaging they slide gently in my ear, and I was surprised at what was coming thorough these small, comfortable, but hard shelled pods. Really nice bass, and lows, highs a little lacking but really happy with the product.

Great Job Apple, you amaze once again, with your Engineering and style!

Great sound if they fit your ears

    • Written by from Jersey City

These earphones have a quirky design. I typically use bud style earphones and they fit me the best. But if I wear the left earpod into the right ear and right into the left ear, they fit me quite well (not for hours use, as they start hurting a little). The previous Apple earphones were a disgrace to sound but they felt more comfortable. Not sure why they didn't keep the rubberized edges on the earpods. Alright, enough about the fit. If they fit you, then read ahead...

The sound is phenomenal. And by phenomenal, I mean faithful and crisp. The bass isn't overpowering but punchy, mids are present and the highs are not shrieking in your ears. For someone looking for a great earphones pair (non bud style), Apple earpods should be tried!

    Review from an Audiophile

    • Written by from orcutt

The only reason I have these is because they came with my iPhone 5. That being said, If you are looking for cheap ear-buds your search stops here.

If you don't care what type of headphone it is (in-ear/on-ear/over-ear) you just want the best sound for $30, then I say go for an on-ear or over-ear headphone instead.

Companies like Sennheiser and AKG produce on-ear and over-ear headphones that sound significantly better for the same price.

But if you specifically want ear-buds for $30 you should definitely buy these. If you are willing to pay more for ear-buds with higher quality then look elsewhere such as the brands I previously referred to.

And remember if you are going to spend a lot of money for quality and not a fashion statement, do not buy Beats by Dre/Bose/Skullcandy, those are jokes in audiophile communities.

Very Comfortable with Great Sound but not if you have small ears

    • Written by from Pacifica

I bought these for my wife for Christmas but was disappointed that they were too large and the hard plastic poked uncomfortably into her ear. For me this is not a problem however and I love the way they fit and feel. So I'm keeping them for me. :)

They stay in comfortably for me and their sound is really excellent with decent base and clear highs.

So if you have ears that, for in-ear headphones, need the tiny/smallest ear cushions to get them comfortably in your ear canal, these might not be the best choice.

    A steal

    • Written by from San Jose

As someone insane enough to have spent more on his earphones than his iPhone, I have to say that these are amazingly good for the price. They not only deliver good sound, with bass to spare, but have a cord that refrains from being excessively long, well-designed controls that you can maneuver purely by touch and feel, and a microphone that doesn’t produce spurious noise by rubbing against clothing.

    Shure, take note.

    Awesome with minor drawbacks

    • Written by from hyderabad

I am using Apple New earpods....

    They are great.......
Main great thing is its BASS......Awesome BASS....I LOVE IT

only DRAWBACK is.....may find difficult to fit into you ear in starting...bt in due ourse you will get them fit perfectly....

SUGGESTION TO APPLE : If the End speaker part of earpods are covered with Ear Buds.....they would have been 10/5 rating........

Coz they can fit well and long duration hearing doesnot give pain........

    just go for it.....dont hesitate

great - seams to have a problem to skip songs

    • Written by from montreal

I would give this a 5 stars for quality of sound and design; altought it seams to have trouble to skip songs on my new iphone 5 - it skips but most of the time just put on pause - maybe I'm just not used to it but on my mbp there is no problems skipping the songs at all.

other than that, great headphones, good sound and bass, and it holds well in the ears.

Great sound and design for everyday normal use.

    • Written by from Lexington

Normaly I use the AKG-240 headphones, but thought I would give these an evaluation.

These have to be one of the best sounding earbud style units I have ever had in my
ears. Comfort is marginally okay. Not the best, but better than than the last design.
The only issue I have is the lack of noise insulation from room noise. These are great if your in a quiet room. However if you are in a mall, airport, or anyplace that has a lot of ambient noise, it's hard to hear. When this happens, instinct is to turn up the music. A lot of the time, this is the cause of hearing loss in younger adults. So if they could design a gel mold like the Bose system has, I think it would greatly reduce ambient noise, and raise the value of these earpods.

Just make sure the earpod that has the mic is in your right ear, and the other in your left. And be careful when you take them out.just dont pull them out by the cord.

    Great with helmet

I very much like the new in-ear contour buds. Bass is better and sound is clear. Additionally, they work much better under a helmet.

    Best headphones for $29

    • Written by from Somerville

Not perfect, but close. For $29 dollars there isn't anything with such a universal fit and well balanced sound. They also took the time to improve the buttons.

    Apple EarPods

    • Written by from Batislava

Today I bought thr new Apple EarPods and I am totally happy. I putted them in my ears and Idont feel any hurt. Even after 3 hours of listening I dont feel as I have any headphones in my ears. And they are not falling out of the ear! The range of music frequency is from 20Hz to 2000Hz. Its the average of usuall street headphones. But sound from the new EarPods sounds more clearly and they are more comfortable, as I mentioned. I one of the greatest things is that when I am listening, walking on a street, I dont hear any backgrounds noises from my surrounding,... just listen the music. And they couldnt hear what Iam hearing :)

(BTW sorry for grammar, Iam from Slovakia)

    Superb

    • Written by from Nepean

My old apple earbuds lasted me 3 years with daily workout, jogs etc. Pretty unheard of. They weren't terrible sounding except that it was near impossible to isolate the sound leaving much to be desired. These new earpods are superb. Traded in my 200$ earbuds for these and i'm thrilled about it. Rich sound, base and great fit. Will see how they hold up again sweat, fingers crossed but honestly for the money you'd be hard pressed to find such an awesome package (sound+mic+in line controls).

One thing I wish apple would consider designing for these are some sort of rubber tips.
