The headphones sound better than most in ear headphones in this price range, but they constantly fall out or move out of position.

    Disappointing!

    • Written by from Huntersville

I bought these EarPods to replace the original earbuds to use while running with my iPod. I have small ear canals and I was really disappointed while running with these because they kept falling out of my ears. I was constantly adjusting and readjusting but they still kept falling out. The biggest difference with these compared to the original is that these have no rubber gaskets around the earpiece to keep them in place, so they just come loose and fall out. I went back to the originals and they stay in place better than these EarPods. If you have small ear canals, don't buy these. It seems to me that Apple should sell 2 sizes, small and large. Although the sound is great, really disappointed with the fit!

I don't know what is wrong with my ears, but I cannot get these EarPods to stay in. I thought they would be better than the original iPhone earpods, but they are just as bad. Very disappointing.

    Apple New EarPods.

    • Written by from Marion

Just bought these today a Best Buy 10/13/2012 these things are horrible they do not stay in your ears at all, they hurt. I have a $5.00 pair I bought at Wal-Mart that work better and also stay in the ears no matter what your doing. The only plus is the remote and mic buttons, thses EarPods have a better sound then the origanal ones, Sorry Apple you made some thing that does not work well.

Microphone isn't as good as older models.

    • Written by from Antioch

So these are better in every way EXCEPT for one and it's a pretty major one as it's the only reason is use earbuds. For PHONE CALLS! People always tell me they don't here my voice as clear as they normally did when I were these. I wish they could bring back the old mic with the new designed speakers and fit... :(

The mic is inside the plastic or somewhere you can't even see it so it's no wonder people find it harder to hear me!

    Too big

    • Written by from Portsmouth

The sound on these is acceptable and would likely be better if they fit well. I'm a 6'0, 31 year old male and the headphones are too big for my ears. They constantly fall out and so they are a downgrade from the original apple headphones for me.

I use the BOSE mie2i and they are amazing! worth every penny and the fit is second to none!

    Not for everybody!!

    • Written by from Quebec

So, here's the deal with those earphones. They sound great but they're not for everybody. On the previous model, i used the mid-size rubber earphones. If those or the smaller ones fitted your ears, the new model won't fit. They're always on the verge of falling off. If you move your head too much, they'll fall at the first occasion. The other thing, the plastic shell is freezing in your ears if you live in a northern corner of this planet. I just came back from a walk while it was 6 Celcius and it was very uncomfortable. And 6 is not near the worst we'll see on a normal winter in Canada. So, for me, it's 35$ down the drain. The perfect headphones for the Californian with big ear holes. If that's not you, forget about it.

    ok for non-sports use

    • Written by from El Monte

...a much welcome upgrade to the original buds from the past, but is worse in my ears for anything involving moving, like jogging for instance. it constantly bobbles out of my ears and shifts itself, needing adjustments almost always. Maybe its just my ears, but I've heard same complaints from other users. other than that, great stock buds, but will need to get a real form-fitting, tight-sealing buds for jogging and other moving sports and activities.

    Amazing sound but they hurt

    • Written by from Ailertchen

These new earpods sound really good. They also have a great bass. The problem is, that they don't fit well and my ears start hurting after using these after about an hour. Apple tested more than 600 ears but my size was not in that survey.

    great sound...incredibly painful

    • Written by from Atlanta

The sound quality is unmatched for $30 earbuds. The greatest improvement over its predecessor is the bass without a doubt. However, if you have a chance to "try out" a pair please do so. They fit pretty well in my right ear but my left ear is in constant pain and I am constantly having to re-adjust them.

Nice sound, but does not stay in your ear

    • Written by from Irvine

Although the sound and features are wonderful, the EarPods do not stay in your ear. This is rather disappointing and inconvenient, particularly when driving or exercising. I expected better from Apple. Please do not use you edge.

    Fall out during running

    • Written by from Denver

The sound of these headphones are much better than the previous model. However they don't stay in my ears very well at all while running. Sitting stationary they work fine and sound decent. The built-in microphone and volume control piece on the cord is heavy and the weight seems to pull the earpod out of the ear during motion. Disappointed after all the hype, but they come with the new products and are only $29 on their own so we can't expect too much.

don't stay in ears while jogging.

    • Written by from Fort Wayne

I must have an ear shape that apple did not cover in their quest for a better pair of ear pods. They do not stay in while jogging, or even when doing pull ups at the gym. I thought, after opening the box, that I would have trouble w/ the EarPods because they looked thicker than the old model, and confirmed this when i went for a jog. I love the sound quality, but, after awhile they start to hurt (30 min. or so). when I'm sitting at my desk, or lounging on the couch they're great. I will however, be returning to my old head set for more vigorous activities.

    Still fall out

    • Written by from Denver

These headphones still fall out of my ear. I would almost venture to say that they fall out easier than the original headphones. Since I can't keep the earphones in my ear I guess it doesn't really matter what it sounds like. I'll be keeping these in the box for when I end up selling this phone.

One size does not fit all

    • Written by from MOUNT DESERT

And again, millions upon millions of pairs of white plastic headphones will go into customers' closets, never to emerge again. What a waste. These newly designed Apple earbuds have OK sound (above average, but no big whoop), and are slightly inferior to both my Sennheiser CX-300 earbuds (which punch above their weight at just $20) and my Zagg smartbuds ($50). I ask you, is smooth shiny hard plastic really the nicest material to shove into the human ear? FWIW, the left bud stays put when I move but the right one falls out of my ear after a minute or two -- go figure. Apparently this is news to Apple: People's ear canals have different shapes and sizes! Why would the company once again force this Procrustean one-size-fits-all "solution" on us, instead of delivering different-sized rubber or silicone tips that we can pick and choose for a snug fit? Oh, also: white earbuds with a black iPhone 5? Kinda jarring-looking.

I always use the Apple earphones (the $100 pair) because they fit so well in the ear but these are actually a lot better but not for small ears.

APPLE MAKE A SMALLER PAIR PLEASE
