    Nice improvement

First, I think all earbuds are flimsy by nature - it's the trade off you make for small portable headphones. They will fall apart if you exercise with them or carry them around in your pocket or bag, even if you pay $120 for the Bose ones.

Second, to those who can't get the buds to stay in their ears and find it has lousy sound quality: is it possible that you were not aware of the new feature, which is that they actually have a dedicated left and right bud? They won't fit in your ears if they are swapped and the sound will suffer. But all people's ears are different, so it's possible they are not right for everyone.

I find they fit nicely, feel comfortable and the sound is great. Mine are starting to act funny after over two years, but I expected that with the abuse I put them through.

    Extremely uncomfortable

    • Written by from Charlotte

These, as well as the previous set I had, are extremely uncomfortable. They will not stay in my ears. The sound is horrible. Come on, Apple. You can do better.

    THESE HEADPHONES ARE EXTREMELY FRAGILE!!!

    • Written by from Aurora

I love the sound quality of the headphones. They feel great in your ear and the sound quality is great. But they are EXTREMELY fragile. I've barely had mine for six months and already the right earphone has a crack in it, and the sound is a bit 'un-balanced' because of the right earphone. And my brother, who takes better care of his headphones than I do, accidentally put them in the laundry. Nothing to worry about, right? WRONG! Now both headphones have blue stains on it AND the right headphone is completely cracked and broken (still works better than my headphones, but the right headphone is EXTREMELY uncomfortable in your ear. So I just have to give it 3 stars. The sound quality is great, but they are extremely fragile.

Does not fit my ears - very uncomfortable

    • Written by from Pittsford

I got those with my iphone 5s. They are unusable because they don't fit my ears. I have to really push them into my ears so that they dont slip out. However, that makes them too uncomfortable to wear for a long time. The sound is not that good either. I stick with my Samsung ear pads. They have nice rubber pads and sound MUCH better.

An ordinary earphone of $3 worth

    • Written by from Moscow

    Cons:

    - not incredibly comfortable as advertised
    - definitely not stable in your ears
    - can't do sports with this earphone at all
    - wires do tangle easily

waist of money - there are better choices on the market

Awesome in every way and for every uses, except isolation.

The EarPods are just great. It has nothing to envy to more expensive ''audiophile'' headphones.

It has it all: decent speed, clarity, a sound that is very well balanced, low impedance (easy to move), and a very spacious and accurate soundstage.

From Dupstep/Brostep to Classical, Jazz, put you put on it, it will sound FAR away from bad or mediocre. It will sound, at least, good, obviously it depends of what you hear through this.

Those earbuds/headphones/iems, how yo like to name it, gives you more value than other offers around here.

If you like watching movies through headphones, you will love the EarPods because of the soundstage. It sounds absolutely stunning, totally immersive in a super-produced Disney movie, for example.

Don't care about those ''audiophiles'' who spends thousands of dollars in ''audiophile DAC's'' and annoying stuff like that.
If you don't know, the DAC that have your iPod touch 5G or iPhone 4S for example, is BETTER than most of those piece junk that buy audiophiles and insult to every other who has an iPod for music listening.

So, don't care about those ignorant and ridiculous people and enjoy your EarPods :)

    Mind blooooooooooowing sound of Earpods

    • Written by from Mumbai

Recently i bought a pair of earpods from istore (India). Before this i was using old model earphone from Apple. There is a massive change in the quality of sound, hardware and fittings. It is the best. This fits so easily and looks so simple and decent. The deeper bass is superb. I can also listen some hidden sound of the same song which i never heard in my previous earphone. This is a 3 years of hard work and research which underwent to make this product and it is off course a worth buying. i simply say that whatever APPLE makes they also rock each time for their products.

These 30 dollar ear buds have officially beat my $70 dollar Sennheiser Headphones, (With a Creative Sound Blaster USB Dongle to help the quality), but even in my iphone, it sounds absolutely amazing, I would say if you like bass, and on a budget, Buy these, don't even hesitate.

    Halfway Decent...Just

    • Written by from Rego Park

I wanted to like these. I thought they would fit well, and the comparisons to "higher end" headphones was intriguing. Now I am glad they were free.

First, they do not fit all that well. Larger ears means more wiggling and constant re-positioning. As they move the sound becomes tinny. Just plain annoying. On the street they are almost useless, not just because they shift after a mere ten steps, but more so because they are drowned out by minor street noise.

As to the sound signature, I compared them to my cheap Philips SHE2000, and all I can say is KUDOS TO PHILIPS! The sound on the Apple Earpods has obviously been tuned to accent the bass, but that bass is muddy, with very little detail in the sub-bass. Mids are drowned out and sound like mere tin instruments. Highs, while sometimes mellow, often sound harsh and sibilant. There is a sense of sound separation at times, but it isn't natural sounding. Better than previous earbuds from Apple for sure, but still garbage.

My cheap Philips (I mean $7.99 cheap) have a richer, fuller sound without over-emphasizing the bass. For classical, jazz, acoustic, singers etc. they are wonderful. They actually sound more like my Bose OE2 than the earpods. Sound is natural and clear, mids are distinguishable from highs, and bass is just right. There is very little harshness, and foam pads help if there is. Outside, these fit so well int he ear that they block out most noise, and the sound level can be kept much lower than the earpods. They also do not slip out, and are comfortable for hours.

Don't be fooled by price or brand, the earpods are cheap throw ins and are not worth the price. Try something else, you will find better.

Earpods work for ears with BIG BIG canals

    • Written by from Plainsboro

Most of the sound seems to come through the apertures on the side of the pods. however when I insert these into my ears the side apertures are blocked by ear canal walls. I have big ears & relatively big canals and never had any issues with any ear phones so far until this one.

I need to turn up the volume completely and insert the ear pods with side rotated upwards to get audio to levels that are just audible. But then they keep falling off.

Apple - i am quite disappointed.

    Poor design

    • Written by from Grand Haven

I would love to see the designer that came up with the new design try to wear these things without them falling out of his/ her ears. Not good at all. Original earbuds are way better.

    Good sound but

    • Written by from Newark

The sound on these "Earpods" are excellent, especially for the price. However, that is only when they actually stay in your ear. Any slight movement I find these moving around and not staying in proper position. They just don't feel secure, I constantly feel as if they are going to fall out, and they do. Great sound for the price, but they aren't comfortable. Spend a few more dollars and get a pair that you don't have to worry about readjusting all the time.

    The worst

    • Written by from Brooklyn

These headphone are standard issue w/ all apple products. If you are lucky it will last a couple of months. If you are extremely lucky maybe even a year. If I purchase a $300 phone or better yet a $2000 computer I would hope the headphone provided would last a decent amount of time. But then the shelf life of an apple isn't long so I shouldn't expect that much from your products.
