    Best headset I've ever owned

    • Written by from Arco

I just got these today and had to try them after our cats somehow got a hold of my others (the old style that came with my iPhone 4S). They sound better than my USB digital headset that I use for the computer. And until today that had been the best I've owned. The comfort factor is not exagerated. I barely notice I'm wearing them. And with the bass quality, you forget they're earphones.

    Absolutely love them

I love the new ear buds. I was upset when I lost them and refused to settle for anything else so I spent the $30 for a new pair.

    Amazing

    • Written by from Palmerston North

After a minute or so, I couldn't even tell that they were in my ear! Amazing fit and really good quality sound. I reccommend trying someone elses out before buying if possible as other reviews suggest they might not be the '1 size fits all' that Apple intended for.

    Coming from an audiophile...

    • Written by from San Francisco

...I would have to say that these are definitely worth their price and more! The dynamic range of these earphones are far superior to previous earphones that come with previous iPhone/iPod models. I will definitely use these and might even buy an extra pair. I can never have too many earphones/headphones. Now, to be honest, the only reason why these still won't be my default pair of headphones is purely a personal preference. I like true in-ear headphones that completely create a seal from outside sound (being marketed these days as "noise-isolating") so that I don't have to turn up the volume so much to hear my music (I use the Klipsch S4i 2 with comply foam ear tips). With the earpods, the outside "ambient" noise will still be heard when you have your music on, if any.

Either way, I still give these earpods a 5/5 stars rating because it deserves it. The fit may not be for everyone which I don't really blame on the design because I'm sure Apple had to design them to fit "most". As you'll see in most of the bad reviews, it's mostly about the fit so just take that into account when trying them out. Not everyone can fit into a "one size fits most".

Buy them because you want a great sound for the price. Don't buy them because you think they'll fit you perfectly like they were made for you because more than likely, it won't.

    Must Have Headphones!!

    • Written by from Houston

I knew these headphones were great when I first tried them out, but I really didn't appreciate them until I heard the sound "quality" seaping out of the old ear buds. The difference is night and day. Crisp, clear audio with monster bass and best thing of all: THEY DON'T FALL OUT OF YOUR EAR!

These babies rival the quality of similar headphones from Beats by Dre, but are more than half the price. No reason for a Apple customer to go anywhere else

Real Improvement in sound and volume

    • Written by from Brooklyn

I have used both the standard earbud and in ear headphones that Apple has sold over the past few years and while the In Ear had impressive sound quality they really required a good seal with the ear. The new EarPods are noticably louder and clearer than the regular earbuds and really feel comfortable. I purchased these on a whim, but now they make me want to listen to music more.

Comfortable earbuds that sound good for a fair price

    • Written by from Mineola

I recently picked up a pair of these EarPods at the Apple Store after my dog decided to sink her teeth into my old earbuds, and I've been very pleased so far.

The sound quality on these probably the best of about any earbuds you can buy for the price. Highs sound pretty decent on these, and don't sound tinny to me. Lows come through fully enough to be enjoyable, definitely better than the ones I had before (the standard Apple headphones that came with the iPhone 4).

Comfort is great! This is what really makes these particularly good, and where they show the most improvement of the previous Apple earbuds. At least for me, these stay comfortable in my ears even if I keep them in for a few hours; they don't start getting uncomfortable and hurting like the old ones did for me. They also don't fall out as easily as the old ones - I can shake my head around a bit and they usually stay put.

As others have pointed out, while these will likely feel comfortable in most people's ears, including mine, they just might not fit your ears, but that's about the only reason why you might not like them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for some decent, comfortable earbuds that won't cost a ton.

    Apple Earpods

    • Written by from Champaign

if it were possible I would give this product 10 stars. it's like having a personal Bowes sound system in your ears. I have tried many types of earbuds and head sets but for the 30 dollar price range you can't go wrong with the apple Earpods. they are Fantastic!!! Thanks apple for yet another great product.

    Wow...

    • Written by from Akron

I just purchased my iPod touch 5g at Best Buy yesturday. I didn't really care for the old Apple earphones at all, and usually end uo giving them away. I expected a better sound than the earphones from the EarPods, but had no idea just how great these things sound. Once I plugged them in, I decided to test them to the extreme. I selected a few different custom bass-boosted songs on my iPod, and was shocked at how clear and deep the sound was. Apple has never failed to impress me by the quality of their products, and I really love these new EarPods.

    Brilliant!

    • Written by from Sydney

Firstly, you should buy these. Compared against the myriad of horrible consumer orientated headphones on the market (*cough* Beats *cough*) these are simply incredible for $30. As for why, read my review.

The new Apple EarPods, needless to say, easily bests the old earbuds in every department. All round clarity and quality across the entire spectrum is superb, and notably bass quality and quantity is dramatically, I reiterate DRAMATICALLY improved. In fact, I would classify these as a slightly bass heavy headphone, but not overly so. Soundstaging is abysmal, but at this price, what can you expect? Balance is top notch, and although the treble is a bit messy, ignoring the isolation I wouldn't mind using them on my daily commute. Whilst these earbuds do not satisfy my uncouth craving for utmost clarity, as a person accustomed to a pair of $700 pro CIEMs, they are certainly incredible at their price point.

These headphones are incredible for the money and best many headphones well into the $50+ range. Hopefully these brilliant earbuds will discourage people from buying Beats and other awful consumer headphones. A $30 well spent! Great job Apple!

    VERY SHOCKED

    • Written by from East Amherst

Got them with my iPhone 5, and left them in the box because I had other brand-name earphones that were "amazing" and thought, "if they're free, they'll make a good backup but probably not a primary"... used them today for the first time... the other headphones are officially retired. Extremely clear and realistic sound quality, no distortion, and I’m extremely critical over sound quality. I actually laughed when I was listening and I turned the volume down. I could clearly hear what people were saying, and the sound was still so good, and EarPods so comfortable that it felt like the music was playing quietly on loud speakers. Extremely impressed. If these ever take a dive I will, without a doubt pay $30 for a new pair. Go for it.

    • Written by from Edwards

These headphones are AMAZING! I was skeptical at first because normally headphones that are shaped like the earpods don't stay in my ears, but these do, and block out so much outside noise! Plus the bass is amazing! Highly recommend them, you'll be glad you bought them

    Love, love, love!

    • Written by from Alvarado

I never really had a problem with the old Apple earbuds, with the exception of my ears hurting for the first couple of weeks. Once my ears got used to them, they stopped hurting. However, yesterday at work, someone complained about my music being "too loud," even though I've been listening to my music at the same volume for more than a year and no one has ever complained before. I started looking for some new earphones and a co-worker suggested the new Apple EarPods. I bought a pair last night and tried them out with my sister when I got home. WOW. The sound is amazing. I can have the volume almost all the way down and still hear the music clearly. And at my "normal" volume level, my sister could barely hear my music unlike with the original earbuds. Very pleased with my purchase. Love them!!

    Very Good!

    • Written by from Feeding Hills

For the price, you can't beat these earbuds. Apple's claim that the shape promotes a better fit in your ear is spot on: they feel quite comfortable. The sound quality is noticeably better than the previous generation of earbuds, especially when you crank the sound up.

My only complaint is the Mic on the right earbud: the controls for music playback are a bit more touchy than the old ones. For instance, to skip to the next song requires you to double tap the middle button rather quickly, or else it will pause. But other than that there is nothing wrong with them.

    They ACTUALLY out did themselves....!!!

    • Written by from katy

I just bought the EarPods w/ remote and Mic at the local store yesterday and when I had previously read the Apple description which states "The audio quality is so superior, they rival high-end headphones that cost much more", I quietly smiled but knowing Apple can as we all know, truly surprise their customers with great innovations, well,my friends, they did it again and in a really great way...I mean, the sound is from the get go impressive to say the least...It rivals easily with my high end Senheiser, Koss and Sony "around-the-ear" Earphones and in no shy ways at all...the whole spectrum is present, the sensitivity although not stated, has to be on the high end, and the bass, mediums and highs are all present in a clean and clear way...
Bottom line is, this "thing" is a steal at 29 bucks...LOL...love it :)

    Compare and purchase

    • Written by from Elizabethville

OK, these little wonders came along with the iPhone 5 . Have to say., right off, the comfort is really there. They slip into the ear without hassle, no lining up , just plop in and they seem to fall into a natural position. The sound is really nice. The type of music you listen to and they quality of the recording will make a difference in the sound.. I'm impressed.
I do have the apple in-ear buds (the dual driver style) and these don't compare to them (but they really do sound good ), but they are noise canceling and these are not. Its a plus if your in a place where you still want to hear whats going on and for safety's sake.
The control works well and apple seemed to make it a bit more responsive to touch compared to the former versions that used the same volume -+ and clicker for OFF, ON, SKIP, PLAYBACK.
The storage case works and is easy to rewind for when that time comes. for the money, Apple did well with this design. Go get some, especially if you think the old earbuds worked well.
