    Amazing

These earpods have great sound and are very durable. My mom put them through the washer and dryer and they still work! It seems the only way they break is if they are run over by a car, which has happened to me.

    Lasted me over a year Oct 2013 - Dec 11th, 2014

    • Written by from Columbus

These EarPods are amazing, they lasted me 1 year and they were preowned, so I don't know how long they were purchased before I got them. Sound quality is amazing and they're durable. I've had my times of accidentally yanking the cord and out of my ears. Tip to make them last longer:
When you go to store them until your next use you should do the following:
    1) Take both ends of the head phones and hold them together in one hand
    2) Grab the bottom of the loop, bring them up, and hold them
    3) Continue to fold to desired length making sure you're following the natural shape of the cords, don't force bending
    4) Store in desired area
    5) To prevent tangling you can use a twist tie or rubber band to secure them

    Awesome

    • Written by from New York

For their price, they really are the best in the market, at least for me. The previous headphones were also awesome, one lasted me two years but then I lost it, and then I got the 5s and I lost those too! The price raise isn't cool, like just because they're a different style doesn't mean that the price should be different too, but they are worth it.

Here's a trick that makes them sound even better!

    • Written by from Grand Rapids

If you press on the back of these EarPods while they're in your ear, you'll notice a definite improvement in the sound quality. I took a pair of foam earplugs I got on a recent flight, inserted them behind the pods, and SHAZAM!!! Great sound! They stay very securely in my ear, help to lessen outside noises, and are a LOT more comfortable than the earbuds with sound mufflers that fit way down in the ear canal.

    Not your typical bundled headphones!

    • Written by from Red Deer

I've used the typical Sonys for years for my mobile devices and they are great workhorses. Pretty much any bundled earbuds seem sad in comparison. With this in mind I just tried these ones with my new iPhone 6 and WOW.... As a fan of in-ear monitors I expected this ducted design to have some impact on the sound but this really is between earbuds and IEMs! Rich bass and full sound across the rest of the spectrum yet they're comfortable and easy to insert and remove. If you already know the clicking protocol from older remote headphones, these also support it so you can FF, REW and skip tracks forward and back with the right number of clicks of the play button. As soon as I tried these I had to come here to see how much they would cost since I'll be getting more as soon as these ones wear out!

    Haven't found anything better

    • Written by from Little Rock

Sound quality & comfort of earbuds are very personal & subjective things. That said, I've tried Klipsch, Bose, & Harmon Kardon earbuds that cost $100-$150. I listen to rock, pop, blues, & some jazz. I am a hobbyist musician & consider myself to have a pretty discerning ear. In the under $200 price range, I have not found any ear buds with better overall sound quality or comfort. I have not tried custom fit earbuds (that usually cost over $400) so I can not comment any any comparison to that category of earbuds. EarPods produce deep, rich, balanced sound & stay in my ear without causing discomfort. Unless you're looking for over the ear, true noise canceling headphones, for $29 (or free with your new iPhone) these are pretty much all you need.

Practical, efficient, and forgiving. SURVIVED WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER.

    • Written by from Central Point

Firstly, I'd like to say that I love the remote feature. I know it sounds like a first-world thing to say, but it truly is a wonderful convenience to have that, especially while I'm running.

However, the reason I came to write this review is has nothing to do with the remote. Here's the story: so I'm studying in college in Hungary, and it's much more of an expense and hassle to buy these here than in the States. One fine morning I realized that it was laundry sign-up day and my clothes were way overdue. Naturally, I dumped everything in the basket labelled with name, paid, and forgot about it. That night, I retrieved my neatly folded clothes and left them next to my bed. When I grabbed my favorite sweatshirt at 3:30 the next morning, I noticed a crackle in my pocket. It was one of the papers I had so foolishly written in pencil on actual paper. Washed and dried. As I began searching through the rest of my clothes, I found that I had washed and dried THE REST OF THE SEMESTER'S WORTH OF HOMEWORK. All of it. No biggie, right? The semester was half over and I was ahead. It would be easy to redo. So I set that problem aside to go on my 4:00 am run.

My earphones were not where I thought I left them.

It was dark, though, and my roommates were sleeping so I couldn't perform a thorough search. So I settled for my backup pair of Sony earphones with only one working earbud. There was a lump in the small, upper-arm pocket of my running jacket. After my run, I investigated. IN WAS MY PAIR OF APPLE EARPODS. Washed and tumble dried low.

For the next four weeks, I relied on my half-operational Sony earbud. At last, during a scheduled dorm cleaning, I decided it was high time to get closure and throw away my favorite pair of Apple earphones. But first, I plugged them into my iPhone and hit play to Coldplay's "Viva La Vida."

They crackled once, then played the ringing notes with full sharpness and clarity of sound.

These EarPods survived the trauma of Hungarian a washer machine, iron-rich water, and a (slightly inadequate) dryer machine.

I still need to rewrite all my papers, but once I sat down, I felt that it would not be just to postpone writing this review any longer. So as I go back to my papers, I just want to say: these EarPods are awesome.

    Apple earpods

    • Written by from cedar springs

As a long time music consumer, who has spent more than he should on speakers headphones and most recently earbuds...I am so happy with the sound quality of my Apple EarPods! The sound equals or exceeds most products at five times the price. As for the dubious remarks on longevity and comfort....bull I've drifted off to sleep many pleasant evenings and awoke with EarPods still in place. 8 months of everyday use at least 4 hours a day. If they die I won't hesitate to buy another pair. Thanks apple!

    • Written by from Rohini

    Undoubtably!
It is impossible to find any such headphones, especially at this price.
These earphones have the best sound quality, I have ever heard. This piece of unbelievable tech, enables you to focus high quality sound, right towards your eardrums, enabling you to hear the quality of sound, that makes having evolve ears, worthy. Can correctly be termed SASEW(Sound Amplification By Stimulated Emission Of Waves) after revolutionary LASERS.

    Amazing , simply amazing -

    • Written by from Valsayn WI

So I'm a headphone junkie, music is most of my life.

I've owned a lot of headphones, klipsch s4 gen ii, bose oe2(most comfortable headphones ever, like soft plus pillows of heaven) bose AE1 & 2. Sony v6 studio monitors. Klipsch image one . Sennheiser hd238.
Audio technica m50s(by far the best I've heard to date) etc. (Music/ instrument junkie) .

I play all my instruments by ear, so. I would like to think I have a decent pair of ears.
My dad owns a lot of bose stuff, including the ie2 headphones.
For 30 dollars these easily sound better than the ie2 from Bose..

My only gripe with them is if u have weird shaped ears like myself they can sometimes dislodge from the ears after using them for a while.

The solution is to purchase earhoox,,, again that's earhoox, changed my life.
Now they fit just like the bose and the sound is better.
Sound wise these headphones are very well balanced and for 30$ that's amazing.

The ath m50 from audio tecnica and bose oe2 are my primary headphones, but for portability u cant beat these.
Don't hesitate to get em.. And look up earhoox... Makes the fit a lot more secure.

    Cheers!

I had the old apple earbuds ever since I bought my first iPhone 3G years ago. They were the only earbuds I liked because of the form; they seemed to fit my ears better than anything else I tried, pretty much anything with those rubber ear buds that just fall out of my ears.

I finally had to replace them today when that rubber circle on the outside started peeling (after about 8 years). I looked around and saw that apple released these a while back and saw they had a similar shape. After reading a million reviews for these and other earbuds, I ran to Microcenter and picked a pair up.

The second I put them on, I was shocked. The difference in sound was amazing; I never knew what I had been missing. They fit even better than the earbuds and are so comfortable.

I'm not even a huge Apple fan (mostly for programming, Windows for gaming and everything else, and have an Android phone) but their earbuds/pods haven't let me down yet, and a much better price point than Beats.

The only thing is the default bass (although much better than the earbuds) was a bit too loud. A little bit of equalizing to my preferences and the sound is perfect.

Let's hope they last as long as my last earbuds.

    Glad I made the switch!

For several months I have been using some basic earphones from Sony. I use em at the gym and have gotten sweat and water in them, but still worked properly. I refused to use the new earphones that came with my iPhone 5c because I hate in-earphones and always fall off. Eventually, I caved and when I started my jog I was blown away by how great the sound quality of these earphones was and they did not fall off throughout my entire jog. I completely appreciate the great sound quality and the bass.

    Great durable Headphones

    • Written by from Sanford

Ive read some of the reviews and noticed that a lot of the 1 star reviews mention that these headphones break easily. This is NOT true. I just washed my headphones in the washing machine on accident and they got stuck around the agitator. After untangling it from the washer I noticed that the headphones were pretty beat up. the rubber was cut in multiple places the wires were exposed and most of the cord is stretched out. I plugged them into my iPhone 6 and turned on some music and they still work. So yeah, I don't believe the 1 star reviews about how they break easily.

Then sound on these are amazing. I have a pair of Sennheiser hd 280 pro monitoring headphones and I have to say that these $30 apple headphones are close to the quality of the monitors. These are a LOT better than Beats IMO. I love apple to death but I will never buy a pair of Beats.

    • Written by from ADDLESTONE

Really surprised at the improvement over the "old" style Apple headphone that I got with the iPhone 4. These are top notch. I have a pair of AKG K490NCs and these are not too far behind in terms of sound and I think they probably beat the Logitech UE plugs that I had. I just hope that they stand the test of time.
