    Fantastic for $30

    • Written by from San Antonio

These little suckers are on par with my Bose $130 headphones (MIE2i). They are a HUGE leap forward from the prior Apple Ear Buds. There are immensely comfortable, and even the buttons on the chord have a better feel (more satisfying click) than the prior Ear Buds. As for sound, they produce a great, rich, range; with much improved bass.

I seriously couldn't recommend these more.

Handsdown, these are best $30 headphones you can buy.

    • Written by from BOCA RATON

I just got these today and they are the most comfortable headphones I have ever used.
Having had high end headphones for many years I can say that Apple has outdone themselves in every aspect of these Earpods.
As far as the old headphones that came with my iPhone one of the annoying parts were over time the rubber washer around the earpiece would fade away leaving the rough inner part exposed. This one is smooth and sleek. It fits perfectly in your ear with no compromise.

The first time I put these on I could not believe the sound difference.
There is a presence there that was not on the older iPod headphones.
The bass is rich but not too overbearing. The highs are clear and the mids are there to balance things out. I've tested these out thoroughly and I have to say at $30 its a no brainer.

When I saw these headphones I knew there must have been something magical about them. Apple doesn't just change their headphones without a good reason.
I've been listening to random music. One track in particular sounded just incredible on these Earpods it was Phaeleh Afterglow. I'm not sure if its on iTunes but the lows are jaw dropping.
Along with all of the Tool songs and A perfect circle. I test these with Classical works from Vivaldi, Mozart, and Bach.

    Simply incredible...

This was one of the many gifts that Steve Jobs left us before he passed.
I tip my virtual hat to you Apple.

    Very Impressed

    • Written by from Norco

These are a huge improvement over the old version in every way:

    1. The sound is a huge improvement. There is a lot more bass and clarity. They almost sound as good as my Philips O'Neil Stretch Over-ear Headphones. There is more isolation from outside noise.
    2. The fit in the ear is better. They feel bigger in your ear.
    3. The cord is a bit thicker and more smooth. The old version was more rubbery.
    4. The microphone/control buttons are bigger and feel better made and more clicky. The microphone does not seem any better than the old version.

    Wow! The Bass is unreal!

    • Written by from Pen Argyl

I just had a $70 pair of noise canceling ear buds that broke after a month. Now I'm thrilled they broke because otherwise I would not have needed to buy new ear buds. These things blow away that $70 pair! The fit is extremely comfortable, and the bass is amazing! Great Job!

    I finally got my earpods

    • Written by from Tucson

I finally got my ear pods. Apple really outdid themselves on these. They are so comfortable and they sound GREAT! I am sure glad they redesigned their headphones. Now ear pods. ever since I saw the keynotes on these, I was determined to get me a set. I highly recommend these. Let me put it this way, 5 stars is not enough.

    Just what I wanted

    • Written by from Grass Valley

Easy to use. Durable. Fit perfectly. These I could see wearing all day. They sound great. I'm loving hearing my music all over again: the separation is clear, all levels of tone are clear and crisp, bass strong without being thumpy, highs are strong and clean with no whining or buzzing.

The sound is so much better than on the old earbuds. Also, I like the new look, feel ( they are comfortable ), and the name.

First earbuds that didn't hurt my ears or fall out!

    • Written by from Ashburn

I've always hated earbuds because every pair I've tried has been too big and they killed my ears if I wore them for an extended amount of time. I saw that Apple had reworked theirs and was excited to get them with my iPhone 5. They are awesome! I think I have ears that are on the smaller side so maybe they fit better for people like me. All I know is that they stay in and don't hurt. Amazing!

I'm one of the "normal" ear people that these headphones fit.

I've owned several types prices and models and these actually surpassed my top pick by far. They fit and work great. I'm a runner and they stay put for me.

The sound quality is on par with 300$ sets I've tried before. In a word unbelievable.

    Great job apple!

    Fits perfectly, but...

I am disappointed that they do not work with my Shuffle 3G

DO NOT buy the earpods if you want to use it with your Shuffle 3G and expect the remote to work

However, the audio quality is great and no other $30 earbuds can beat it.

Apple if you add Shuffle 3G support I would give a 5 star rating

Fixed all my gripes about the previous Apple headphones

    • Written by from Stuart

WOW -- as lame as the previous standard issue Apple headphones were the new Earpods are polar opposite. They fixed everything I found annoying about their predecessors:

    - excellent bass (for a pod-style headphone -- if you want real bass response you still need over-ears)
    - no more extra-tangly cord -- this one feels slippery and untangles easily
    - great tactile feedback on the mike buttons -- they increased the size a little to achieve this
    - no more silicone parts on the actual ear bud (you know that peels off after about a year of use on the previous ones)

Well done Apple! For $29 bucks these are a steal. One note -- they are hard plastic not rubbery, as I assumed from the shape, so they do not block out noise.

    Excellent Design and Engineering

    • Written by from Aliquippa

As a near deafie, I am so happy to have a product that suits me.

Apple Earbuds have never worked for me. I've purchased a dozen devices from Apple and I've always donated the earbuds to friends and family who could use them. They were too big. They hurt. It just wasn't a match for me.

These, in comparison, fit snugly. The sound is wonderful. The construction is tougher than I had expected it to be. It's not a delicate device. Using a rubber band, I was able to fasten down the left earphone to the cord (since I have no left ear) and they never tangle.

I just ordered the new iPad and a separate set of EarPods.

    Well done, Apple.

    Comfort and Excellent Fidelity!

    • Written by from Sherman Oaks

Unsurpassed comfort. Stable, stay put design. Sound is incredible for the price, a near audiophile experience. Bass is warm and tight without being muddy, whether acoustic or electric. Mid range and highs are so clear and distinct without being harsh. The overall sound has a nice openess (of course depending on the recording) as though your listening to a good set of speakers and I don't feel isolated from my environment. A definite bargain!.

As much as I hated the old Apple Earbuds as much I love these

    • Written by from Quebec

I have been a customer for a while and was unable to fit the old model in my ears. They were very uncomfortable. I was using soft buds from Sony and other in the high end range 70$ and up...

I am very happy with these. Sound quality is great but the best improvement is that it fits in my ears without discomfort at all. I can run, play sleep with them and at 35$ I am not affraid of breaking them.

    Great stuff,

    Thank you.

    WOW, You nailed it !!!

    • Written by from Lockwood

Perfect ear buds, completely comfortable and the sound is amazing. I consider myself a serious audiophile. These things are perfect. The ideal balance of base, mid and treble with no distortion in any of the Hz ranges, that and after a few minutes you forget they are in your ear. They don't plug your ear up like other high priced buds do, they just sit there.

If you're thinking about upgrading, DO IT !!

THANK YOU !!! It's about time someone got it right.

If only we could lose the cord

    • Written by from Denver

These are the best $30 ear buds I've ever owned. In fact, I have a pair of $100 JayBirds and the audio quality on the EarPods is definitely, absolutely better. Apple designed some great headphones here.

I wish I could get the exact same thing with bluetooth. The cord can get in the way... but that's what you get for $30. I'll sacrifice convenience for sound quality. Absolutely amazing.

    First impressions are important

    • Written by from Pittsburgh

As soon as you put them in your ear you notice how these headphones are different.
They don't ask you to re-adjust them, they just sit in your ear. To demo the audio quality I chose a song from Above&Beyond named Love is Not Enough and a song from James Taylor named Angry Blues. I found there is one thing the headphones ask of the listener; Turn up the volume. Not to say these h'phones aren't loud enough, but that it is as if it were the first time you listened to your favorite songs.
    Good Job Apple.

    Wow! Big improvement for $29

    • Written by from Avenel

These buds have a lot more bass, and overall a much richer/warm sound to them than any of the previous Apple iPhone headphones (at the $29 price point, I've never used the Apple in-ear headphones so I can't compare) -- It's nice to see Apple has UP'd the ante, so to speak, with regards to "included" heaphones; for the first time I'd say the "included iPhone headphones" match the quality of an iPhone, and don't seem like a pair of cheap headphones that have a short life-span.

But we'll see how long these headphones last me without going kaput, I'm not a fan of the headphone plug standing up, I find this usually wears out first/the most.
