    Still not right

    • Written by from Honolulu

It baffles me that a company with so much panache and flair can't figure out the headset design...again....
WHY OH WHY!! are they made with slippery plastic material...I can't think of ANY headset/earbud out there that's made with slick plastic, that has no other option but to slip out of your ear, with the slightest tug...and does.....!
I just tried "the new design" officially for the first time walking my dogs, wind blowing, cursing them the whole way, wishing I had my awesome Bose RUBBERIZED BUDS.....that actually STAY PUT IN YOUR EAR cause the RUBBER(optimum word here) allows them to actually stick...duhhhhhh...listen up! all you Design Experts in Ol'Cupertino....

    Uncomfortable and poor quality

    • Written by from Indianapolis

These came with my iPhone 5. I've never liked the EarPods Apple produces and thought these might be better. They are still as uncomfortable as the older version and on top of that the sound quality is very poor. Sometimes music comes in clear and I can deal with how uncomfortable they are and big for my ears, but the quality is poor so often it is not worth it. The sound is scratchy and hollow at times. You really have to play with the plug to make it work and no one wants to do that every time they plug them in or every few songs.

    UNCOMFORTABLE!

    • Written by from Sacramento

The EarPods do not fit well. They are unbelievably uncomfortable compared to older versions. They do sound better, but what good is that when you can't keep them in your ears for more than 10 minutes before your ears feel terribly bruised. Older versions I could keep in ear for hours, even overnight, but these left my ears sore beyond belief in a matter of minutes. I've tried to move them around and wear them differently to no avail. If you are looking to purchase headphones, ignore these.

    Not happy

    • Written by from Eugene

The New EarPods have structural problems that can only be described as product failure. Granted I may have purchased (3 pair now and counting) from a bad batch but it looks to me like this is a product that should not have come to market. First pair has and intermittent right channel. Another pair required a constant pressure on the plug (MacBook Pro) to stop loud humming noise. On Monday I will be returning this set of EarPods and NOT exchanging them. I am done with this product.

Broke in a month right ear bud

    • Written by from consul

Bought iphone 5 use earpods up till November 2012, and right ear piece started to scratch. Now the right piece does not work. I support apple 90% but these ear pods are not durable. I support Bose and have used my ear buds for 2 years. You pay for quality. These are not quality.

    Don't Fit

    • Written by from Anchorage

I can't keep these in my ears more than a second or two. If I look down or move at all they fall out. I don't think I have particularly small ears, but these pods seem HUGE. I can't comment about the sound, since they won't stay in long enough for me to hear anything.

who are these made for? Giants???

    • Written by from springer

I received a pair of these with my iPhone 5. They are so big that they don't even fit in my ear, much less stay there (without the silicone). After talking on the phone for less than 5 minutes, I had to remove them. Very inconvenient and extremely uncomfortable! I am very disappointed with Apple on this one.

    Design Fault! Design over functionality!

    • Written by

Ok they look great and the sound is good, but they just fall out of my ears. They fit well into my ear but when I turn my head to look into a shop window or make sure a bus isn’t going to run me over before crossing the road, the buds just fall out!

This issues is down to design being more important over functionality! Round buds don’t fit into the ear perfectly, but that helps them stay in your ear, as the ear actually holds them in. These are ear shaped which causes them to have no resistance over gravity.

Better sound but will not stay in

    • Written by from NEWPORT BEACH

These do actually sound much better but they will not stay iin. They fall out with the slightest movement and so far I have not found any add on tips. Until the come up with a foam or silicone tip these will sit in my desk drawer. Apple needs to look at the the way these are meant to be used, for people on the move not sitting motionless in one spot.

Ear Buds aren't good at all

    • Written by from Westborough

This is my personal opinion about these ear buds:
I didn't like these these ear buds even a single bit. Your ear pains after a while & also it pops out if you shake your head quickly and its even worse during running. I would better prefer the old ear phones rather than this one.
I wish atleast next gen apple ear buds would be good.

These are way worse than the previous ones.

    • Written by from Miami

Why does it only get 1 star? Apple launches these commercials telling you that headphones have been developed incorrectly in the past, bit taking the human ear shape into consideration. Well, how brilliant is that design if it doesnt stay in your ears when actually moving your head a bit. I didn't have any problems during running with the previous apple headphones, but these constantly fall out. They are all plastic and no rubber piece anymore. Friends of mine who got them with the iphone 5 as well state the same: horrible design.

    Didn't work for me.

    • Written by from Bar Harbor

I must be the 3% of the population who has tiny ear canals that can't comfortably fit apple headphones. I will be returning to my silicone earbuds. Bummer.

    Failed after 1 month

    • Written by from West Hartford

These came with my new iPhone 5 and worked great. I never abused them but after only a month, of very infrequent use, the left side failed completely. The sound quality was great, but I would not recommend on that alone. Plus it happened a day after the phone itself failed and had to be replaced at the Apple store. I'm very disappointed in Apple's supposed high quality.

    still don't fit

    • Written by from Winnipeg

I have such a difficult time with earbuds. And, I was excited to see these! A different shape may have a different outcome. NOPE. I bought these specifically because of the remote and mic function. My iPhone4 ear speaker is shot (after 2 years) so i need something that will allow me to talk on the phone without it always being on speakerphone. However, these earbuds simply just fall out after about 5 minutes of wear.

    I'm really disappointed.
    And they are painful.
Won't even stay in with a toque on!!!

    Terrible

    • Written by from Smyrna

Ok, the sound is not the WORST I've ever heard, but it still is not what I would call good. At least for me, the fit is TERRIBLE. They do not stay in my ear at all, they are completely uncomfortable and they do not block out any ambient noise at all; however, they do not claim to do so. I have an old pair of Koss earbuds that I got from Wal Mart for $20 that are lightyears ahead of these in terms of sound, fit and comfort. In today's competitive market, you would think Apple would make an accessory which is a little more capable and useable. Fine for something that comes with the phone as a free accessory, but if you are considering buying these outright, PLEASE do not waste your money.

    incompatibility issues

    • Written by from Vancouver

although the sound is better and the fit is fine this product is incompatible with my 3rd generation shuffle - even though it says in the enclosed product literature that they are compatible - i was looking forward to better earpods and i'm a bit offended that a three year old shuffle is too old for even the basic function of volume control to work ... forgive us apple for not buying new product every six months just to keep up ...

Got these to replace my original ear buds but couldn't get use to them. They actually hurt while I had them on. I miss my old ear buds - I wish they'd keep making them.

    Horrible

    • Written by from Little Rock

I am very perplexed as to how Apple could make worse earbuds as the ones that came with my other iPhones. But somehow the genius engineers at Apple did it again, but even on a greater scale of failure than previous thought.
The new EarPods do not stay in my ear and the sound quality is extremely poor.

These don't work for either me or my husband. They're too big for my ears and very uncomfortable for his. I'll stick to my ear buds.
