    Terrible

    • Written by from Smyrna

Ok, the sound is not the WORST I've ever heard, but it still is not what I would call good. At least for me, the fit is TERRIBLE. They do not stay in my ear at all, they are completely uncomfortable and they do not block out any ambient noise at all; however, they do not claim to do so. I have an old pair of Koss earbuds that I got from Wal Mart for $20 that are lightyears ahead of these in terms of sound, fit and comfort. In today's competitive market, you would think Apple would make an accessory which is a little more capable and useable. Fine for something that comes with the phone as a free accessory, but if you are considering buying these outright, PLEASE do not waste your money.

    incompatibility issues

    • Written by from Vancouver

although the sound is better and the fit is fine this product is incompatible with my 3rd generation shuffle - even though it says in the enclosed product literature that they are compatible - i was looking forward to better earpods and i'm a bit offended that a three year old shuffle is too old for even the basic function of volume control to work ... forgive us apple for not buying new product every six months just to keep up ...

Got these to replace my original ear buds but couldn't get use to them. They actually hurt while I had them on. I miss my old ear buds - I wish they'd keep making them.

    Horrible

    • Written by from Little Rock

I am very perplexed as to how Apple could make worse earbuds as the ones that came with my other iPhones. But somehow the genius engineers at Apple did it again, but even on a greater scale of failure than previous thought.
The new EarPods do not stay in my ear and the sound quality is extremely poor.

These don't work for either me or my husband. They're too big for my ears and very uncomfortable for his. I'll stick to my ear buds.

    Garbage.

    • Written by from Vienna

To start things off, they do not stay in your ear, and the sound quality is the farthest thing from clear. Everyone around you can hear your music, and with these things in full blast, i can still clearly hear my mother quietly talking next to me. The stupid guy at the radio shack convinced me to buy these, saying that they were a lot better than the other selection of terrible headphones that apple offers. Honestly, going with the $5 phillips brand headphones would of been a better choice for me. Please, take my word, and just DO NOT get these headphones. They are complete garbage. The only pro about these things is the style. For me, it was $30 down the drain. Thanks apple!

If you have small ears, these are not for you. I wore them for 5 minutes and my ears hurt for over an hour afterwards! The sound quality is amazing, but not worth it.

    Falling Out

    • Written by from Lancaster

Yes, I know my ears are two slightly different sizes, but these pods are not even close to being able to fit in my ears, they are too small. This is a step back from the old earphones, which didn't fit either, but I could sort of get to stay, if I tried really hard.

Can't talk about the sound because they won't stay in or even sit close enough to the ear canal to make much of an effect.

I never used either much, but thought I'd try the new design. I'll stick with my over earphones instead and give away the new design.

    Very disappointing

    • Written by from Greenville

The earpods will not stay in my ears even while I am sitting at my desk working, I cannot imagine they would stay in while walking, running or doing any activity at all. The sound is fine, but not when they fall out of your ears constantly. I think they would stay in better if they had the rubber edge like the old ones to help prevent the hard plastic from sliding out of the ear. I would not waste your money on these, get something else even if you spend a little more. While I have been typing this review they have slid out of my ears twice...from typing.

    Broken

    • Written by from Portland

I had the earbuds for about a month and now the remote no longer works. Actually, it is worse than that in that it will randomly hang up my calls, start music, and engage Siri.

I like the sound quality, just not the reliability factor.

    Apple EarPods fit better REVERSED!

    • Written by from LOS ANGELES

Get this: No doubt these things sound better than the previous EarPods. But unlike the previous EarPods which fit my ears perfectly, these fall out no matter how hard I shove them into my ears. Horrible horrible fit.

Weirder still, when I reverse them, left to right ear, right ear to left, they fit PERFECTLY! Snug, better sounding, comfortable fit.

But my OCD can't allow me to fully enjoy the experience of listening to music 'backwards'.

Has anybody had a similar experience?
