    Best Headphones Ever!

    • Written by

I listen to music constantly, very loud. When i got these i thought they would just be a different shape, I was wrong! The first time i slid these EarPods in my ear and listened to Kings of Leon's Come Around Sundown, I almost cried. The bass in these things are ridiculous! And it saved me 200 dollars, because now i dont have to my the Bose headphones i was going to buy, they work just as good, if not better! I highly suggest these!

Better than last version of apple headphones.

    • Written by from San Clemente

I previously owned the old headphones that came with the other iPhones. The good of those where that I had a bunch of them but they broke easily. These new headphones do seem that they will be way more durable. I am runner and these stay in my ears a lot better than the old ones. They sound a lot better, control is a lot more responsive, and looker way better. However, one flaw that I am experiencing is that they tend to hurt my ears after wearing them for like 20 minutes or so. The headphones are meant for one size fits most. Unfortunately, since they hurt my ears, then they don't fit me well. They are slightly too big. In my opinion, the best headphones with the same functions are the iMonsters from ibeats. Super comfortable and best sound quality.

    Best Headphones I've owned

    • Written by from Pawtucket

The sound quality from these rivals my beloved Bose headphones, however the compact size and built-in functionality of the mic take it to a whole new level. The new shape really is comfortable for hours of listening and adds to the quality of the sound and volume. If you really want to crank up the music the volume greatly surpasses the previous generation. Thanks apple for continued excellence.

    Great product for $31!!

    • Written by from Shanghai

I am very impressed by the sound quality on these earpods. At first, I was quite spectical. Honestly, the earphone before was like "Okay, I get it. Its free". But these are pretty good for free with the iPhone 5 or only $31 including tax to buy on it's own. I highly recommend them, this just might be the best $31 head phone you can get on the market.

    Buyer Beware

    • Written by from El Paso

These earphones do not fit very well. Maybe my ears are too small or the earphone tiny handle is too long. They basically keep falling out when walking. I'm returning mine asap. The old earphones at least had a rubber cap to keep them from falling out of the ear. Great sound....Poor design.

    The Best

    • Written by from 桐生市相生町

I ordered these a couple of hours after learning they were available. They came the NEXT day to my door step. I can't believe how much better these are than the old ear buds. BASS, it's there. HIGHS, they are there too. And the MIDS are right in the middle where they should be. For $30 there are no better headphones. EARPODS ROCK!

Works better than my expensive over ears

    • Written by from Surrey

These little cheap headphones sound better than the previous generation of Apple headphones and have blown me away. My big gaming headset is at par with the ear pods, and that headset cost me $125. Great buy, sound quality is above anything that you could buy for $35.

Sound Great, but not in the gym.

    • Written by from San Jose

First off, audio quality is a 5 (I am an audio engineer by education). Keep in mind that the low end has good thump, but there is no sustained low end like a bass (You can't really expect this from in/on ear headphones anyway.) I actually listened to a few old favorites with huge grin on my face as it was a very good listening experience.

No on to why I rated these headphones only a 3. I was excited to take these to the gym and put them to the real test. Instant fail. These are the first pair of headphones I have owned that actually fell out of my ear. The problem for me was the right ear. The reason the right ear only is (I believe) the volume dongle. The weight of this is just enough to pull the earpod out of my ear. The other problem is that since the audio comes out of the side of the earpod, when it gets even slightly dislodged, there is a big drop in volume. Every 20 seconds I was pushing the right ear back in and adjusting it to try to even it out.

Overall I am very sad, because I love the sound quality and overall comfort of the earpods, but I primarily wanted them for the gym and they just didn't work for me. I think a fix for this would be if they had a tackier materiel on the earpod or maybe a cover that can go overtop to fit more snug into ears.

If this problem doesn't happen to you, then you have yourself an amazing pair of $30 headphones.

    Pretty impressed

    • Written by from Archbold

I've owned numerous types of headphones at different price levels and I can safely say for the price these buds are impressive. Granted I'm not actually sure how much they cost since they came with my phone and I'm too lazy to click the back button and check the price, but I'm assuming they're under $60 and that's a bargain. Structural design could be improved however but then you would expect to pay more.

These are amazing, at a GREAT price!

    • Written by from Longmont

I don't know how Apple produced such amazing earbuds for only 30 dollars, but they somehow managed it.
--The earbuds are MUCH more comfortable than ANY other earbud I have worn.
--The audio quality is amazing; after purchasing these I'm hearing new aspects to the music, such as subtle harmonies, rich, deep bass and other background instruments. Songs I have listened to many times in the past sound all new.
--They cost me only 30 dollars
--Mic is in the buds themselves, a much needed improvement. On the past Remote/Mic earbuds, the mic was easily damaged because it was on the remote which gets hassled a lot more and had less protection than the molded hard plastic of the new EarPods.

    great earphones - TERRIBLE CASE

    • Written by from toronto

don't get me wrong - i LOVE the headphones, for the price - the are great. but why provide a case if its completely irritating to put back in???

i travel a lot and always put away my earphones in a case - i was actually excited that these new earpods came with their own - but unfortunately it takes a good couple minutes of finagling to squeeze them back in.

not the best design. not trying to be picky - but hey, if you're gonna provide a nice little case - make it so i can put it back in easily and efficiently.

    Too big

Well made earbuds would give 5 stars if they were smaller or came in multiple sizes. They are too big to fit well into my ears comfortably.

    Terrible fit

    • Written by from Lakeland

I must preface this by saying that I am both an audiologist (doctoral hearing healthcare professional), a musician, and an audiophile (lover of music).

The fit of the old earbuds was terrible if you did not have a larger ear. The best solution was to have custom molds fabricated to fit the end. I was looking forward to the new EarPods because of all the "research" and their "hundreds" of ears that they scanned, as well as the supposed better sound quality.

I do have small-ish ears for an adult and have been wearing custom molds attached to my oilds Apple earbuds for years. The new EarPods are an awful fit. Lots of acoustic leakage from outside noise in. They also fall out of my ears after less than a minute. If I'd paid extra for these, I would have taken them back; however, they came with my iPhone 5. The sound quality seems much better than the earbuds alone if I take my fingers and shove the Pods into my ears, but that's not very practical. I still am using my old earbuds with my custom molds which actually results in excellent sound quality as the molds direct the sound adequately into the ear canal and at a deeper point than any type of bud headphone would, and when sound is presented closer to the eardrum, there is better preservation of the signal.

Additionally, and MOST importantly, custom molds provide less acoustic leakage and, thus, the volume does not have to be turned up very high on your audio device which reduces the risk of noise induced hearing loss. I am not the only adult with small conchas (ear bowls) and children definitely have smaller conchas. So, for millions and millions of people, Apple is falsely advertising these EarPods as excellent in fit when really their poor fit will have listeners cranking up the volume and risking noise induced hearing loss. Thanks Apple - until you improve your design, I will stick with my improved oldies-but-goodies.
