Do not expect 1080p HDTV quaility with this DV HDMI

I was disappointed with the 720p resolution I got from mirroring the "Retina" display and THEN read the Apple Web site.
Check Apple Web site first! Do not miss the IPad (4th gen) tech spec ;)

This adapter did not function well at all. Half the time the TV does not recognize the signal. The rest of the time the image was poor.

It is excessively overpriced for what it is and performs poorly. This is an absolute insult from apple.

Works well at mirroring iPad 4th generation and iPhone 5 via HDMI cable. Tried it with photos and video and worked well.

The item works when it want, and its so so anoying because if you want to watch a movie or a sitcom you can't because if the device recognize the signal the tv not. You can see the blue light at the clock but the conection fails... 50 bucks? I feel very very cheated...

Just got it. No wifi at work. No problem. With the faster processor on the iPhone 5 and using only cellular on ATT (unlimited plan), Hulu Plus and Netflix are amazing. Good job Apple. Pricey, but worth it.

Good functionality limited by poor quality

I got this a little less than a month ago and initially liked the ability to view content streamed to my phone on the big screen in my home theater using it hand held and navigating to a variety of content. However, it's developed a short or something so that it's very finicky in when it works. I can no longer navigate content in my hand and have to lay it down rather gingerly and finesse the cable so that it transmits signal. For $50 is should be more durable and work well for more than a month.

The description says it mirrors what is on the iPad screen but try HBO GO on Dish Network. Says " not supported". Maybe HBO restriction but should be pointed out.

This is an excellent product. Mirrors the iPhone 100% from home screen to any app. The only issue is your tv isn't retina quality. Should be 29.99 I believe tho

I bought this to be used exclusively with an projector for work and work related presentations. It duplicates the screen perfectly from the ipad to the project. The specific one I purchased through future shop also has the 30 pin connector so I can have my ipad plugged into a power source during use.

So far it has worked flawlessly and for $49.00 I consider this a pretty good deal...beats lugging my laptop around and all the oversided accessories for that. So far it appears to project all apps that I use on a regular basis (including apps that I was told could not be projected). I am a designer so having the ability to mark up drawings on my ipad while they are being projected to a large screen during a presentation is a great tool.

Hopefully others will have the same success I have been having with this accessory.

The video out put to my HDMI TV is very washed out with a red tint using this cable. I purchased this adapter to use with my Iphone 5 and I was hopping to be able to stream Netflix from my unlimited data Iphone to the TV. When I stream from the same Iphone to the TV via Airplay on the Apple TV I get a very clear video with great color, so I know it is not the Iphone, or TV causing the problem.

Just got this so I can watch Netflix on business trips and it linked up immediately and works great! I have tried it with both my iPhone 5 and iPad Retina and both resulted in clear and full HDTV, amazing picture and sound. I highly recommend this product.

I just got my adapter 2 days ago in the mail and I must say this is much better than the old 30pin adapter I had for my iPhone 4s. Right off the bat the picture quality is much better thanks to the HDMI cable, my old adapter was just to those yellow white and red RCA cables so it makes sense that this would be better quality. Another big improvement is that this provides true display mirroring not just a/v out for apps that where designed to be compatible. So now I can play games, go online or even facetime using my big screen tv. I'm really happy with this cable... even if I wasn't really happy with the $50 price tag.

Purchased this device to use on our 4th generation iPad. No problems. Every image was displayed perfectly. Slide shows are terrific. Music is great too. Videos do well too.

Works Great With iPad (4th Generation)

This adapter mirrors the display of my iPad. When watching videos using the built-in Video app, the TV displays everything (no scaling issues). Some apps, however, do not completely use the area of the TV display when using this adapter (e.g. IMDB, Apple Trailers, YouTube).

This adapter is too pricey but I bought it anyway because I needed one. I am, however, satisfied with it.

Burnin display on the iPad 4 retina

I just bought the lightning to HDMI adapter for my iPad last week. The device works great and the picture quality is amazing. I primarily use it to plug in my iPad to my TV and watch Netflix. The other day I noticed that when I went to go to another app after unplugging the adapter from my iPad that Netflix was burned into the center of my display on the iPad. When using the Netflix app while using the adapter, when the video is playing it is only playing on the tv and the iPad has the generic Netflix logo with the red background. Is there a way I can eliminate this? Is this a Netflix app thing or an apple thing? Any advise would be awesome!

Although it's overpriced it allows me to watch any app on my flatscreen! I don't need an audio cable anymore. The image quality is great. I use it everyday to watch Netflix, Hulu, Jtv, Veetle, among others

I have been able to display everything from the screen of the iPad out to my TV. I have been able to play movies purchased from iTunes, those from my Kingston WiDrive, and those from my Seagate GoFlex Satellite. The problem with this small and simple, connector is that is severely overpriced! Not to mention, none of the 8pin to 30pin adapters do not support accessories... the adapters are only for charging and syncing! I have a nice Microvision SHOWWX+ Laser Pico Projector that is useless now because it uses a 30-pin connector :( It's all my fault for upgrading. The new lightning connector is the worst thing ever.
