    Works Great

Plugged in my iPhone 5 to my TV and it's as easy as that! Both audio and video are clear. I've used it for slideshows, movies on my phone, and Netflix streaming so far. This will be perfect for streaming movies over LTE to any hotel HDTV. It does seem a bit costly though.

Awesome for Sling Adapter (Dish Network)

    • Written by from O fallon

I have an Iphone 5, Dish Network, and a Sling Adapter attached to the Dish DVR. Using the IPhone 5 Dish app I can watch any show that's live on my Dish Satellite or watch any saved movie! When I travel I can plug my iphone into any TV using this Lightning to HDMI cable and watch all of my shows! I also like watching Vevo from my IPhone on a TV since YouTube blocks the Vevo content on Blu Ray Players and 99% of TV's. The TV resolution for the HDMI output on the IPhone 5 is awesome! I did notice that some content does not display in 100% fullscreen. The Dish app displays the content in 98% screen with no distortion. I have a Panasonic plasma TV and it has not caused any black bar burn in.

Does not provide sound for Maps

    • Written by from Markham

This cable works well and it mirror iPhone 5 display with good quality. I can watch movies, youtube or listen to songs and I can hear the sound on the TV.

I had an issue that the sound of the Maps application does not come through this cable. The sound still goes through iPhone speakers. I can only see the video of the Maps with no sound.
I wanted to use this cable to connect my phone to my car screen and use iPhone as GPS system but so far this is not working as I can not hear the direction sound through my car speakers with this cable.
Apple can you please fix it

Loose connection due to faulty and/or redesigned claws

    • Written by from Virkby

The new Apple MD098ZM/A adapter connector hooks up loosely and does not secure a solid connection! The connection is frequently lost and becomes annoying to the point that it is just too aggravating. My charger's 30-pin connection hooks up just fine. I examined the connectors carefully and compared differences. The MD098ZM/A adapter has slightly smaller claws, claw ends are more pointed and you can feel that it does not hook up as it is designed or intended to. I will return it for an exchanged item or cash. I use only original Apple components. This was however a let down by Apple considering the prices Apple charge!!

    Disappointed

I work in television and have some downtime between shows. I'm surrounded by monitors and wanted to put on Netflix through my iPhone 5. I have an apple TV (carrying it around would be a hassle opposed to a cable.) The airplay and the netflix app work great on Apple TV. Sometimes on the apple tv netflix takes a second to buffer and to get to a clear hd picture but with this cord there was never a clear picture streaming Netflix, great wifi connection and all. Just a jumpy picture from time to time and even looked SD. I hope other people have better luck than I, but I'm going to have to return it unfortunately. A bad picture drives me crazy and I can't get over how a hard line isn't up to par with a wireless connection.

    Useless for development

    • Written by from Morden

I bought this adapter so I could use it while developing an app that needed separate video output. It seemed perfect because it has the hdmi output as well as a passthrough lightning plug so you can keep it attached to your computer for development/debugging as well.

Unfortunately, it only passes through power, and does not show up as the original device you plugged in, so its useless to me.

    Great product

Really good adaptor. Downloaded movies on itunes, put movies in mini iPad connect to tv. Great quality watching movies with it. Plus it mirrors the mini iPad. My daughter connects iPad to tv and play her favourite apps, games or movies. Price seems high but worth the buy.

    not supported?

    • Written by

I have had the adapter for about a week, it works with hdmi and audio out for about 2 minutes, then it says accessory is not supported by iphone, and stops sending audio, and video out. Then I have to turn my phone off, and on again for it to work (for 2 minutes) Horrible

    Works Great

Does exactly what is says it will. Looks good on the TV. I love that when you play a flying game, you get the pilots view of the surrounding area etc. on the TV and the instrument panel on the iPad Mini screen!

This also comes in handy when working on a stop motion video. It's a lot easier to see the onion skin on a big TV then try to watch on the iPad Mini screen.

It's great that you can keep the device charged while watching on the TV.

    Works Great

I have a 2011 GTI and needed an adapter to work with the 30 pin connector that comes with the car. It works perfectly and has just enough length that the phone can sit in the center console cup holder.

One nice thing is I don't have to take my case off the phone to plug it in.

    Help

    • Written by from Russellville

The lightning to HDMI works great for my TV and for my new laptop computer but I purchased it for a projection unit and that unit has no HDMI. Is there something I can connect between the HDmi and the projector units to get sound and video? If so please let me know, Thanks in advance.
