    Got to reset.

My adapter quit working like other reviewers. I did the hard reset (hold power and home key until Apple symbol appears) and all was well.

but grossly overpriced. For another $20, just buy an Apple TV box and be able to perform same function completely wirelessly!

    Works for a while

I bought this for use in my car with the AppRadio 3. The quality and connection was great at first, now a month or so later the contact is way sensitive. When driving over a bump or moving my iPod at all creates static or disconnection. If using in a car with constant movement I do not recommend this.

    Power is not supported

    • Written by from somerville

The video works great - When I plug in the power cable it tells me its not supported, and it doesnt keep the device charged.

My netflix movies need to be watched in two settings... Irritating.

Using on my iPad Mini (1st gen), Vizio HD TV.

    Pros --
    - when it works, it looks great on the TV; total mirroring and decent resolution
    - audio through the HDMI, full screen video really is full screen
    - is small and very portable for traveling

    Cons --
    - PRICE. US$49 is ridiculous, AND you have to buy the HDMI cable on top of that. I get that Apple is trying to encourage people to use Apple TV instead but it's just not practical for people who want to use this adapter for travel and portability
    - connecting the adapter and HDMI to the TV and iPad are finicky -- it didn't recognize the device when I turned my TV to the HDMI channel and then connected. Have to either turn off the TV or change to a different channel, THEN connect the iPad, THEN turn to the HDMI channel
    - biggest con for those who are using this for travel -- many hotels control the TV functions (i.e. menu, access to channels and component/input options, etc.) -- I tried using this adapter at two different hotels and both times, they wouldn't recognize the iPad as being connected. So this may be hit or miss (but mostly miss for me)

Works but the cable is too short.

    • Written by from São Paulo

As Christopher G, I just bought Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS and installed it in my 2008 VW Polo and works perfect!!!
The same reason for my review is to share what needs to change with the Lightning AV Adaptor. The cable works great but the lightning cable to connect to iphone 5 is way to short and I can't find anyone on the internet that sales an extension.
The same problem is I don't want to have a huge adaptor hanging from my iphone 5. There needs to be a Female to Male Thunderbolt cable created so i can hide this huge adaptor behind my stereo.
I really need a Female to Male thunderbolt cable extension.

    to Valeri F

    • Written by from Timnath

    Hi Valeri,
You said that you were disappointed that you didn't get 1080 HD with this cable on your iPad 4th gen and that people should read the specs on that item before buying. That might be true but this cable doesn't claim to give that quality on that device. It specifically states in the product description that you can get that video quality with the iPad 5. I just wanted to point out that you are not comparing apples to apples and you might be disappointed over something that was never possible and never claimed as a possibility in the first place.

    Good but...

    • Written by from Sept-iles

With iphone 4s it does what you expect it to do in general but when you watch a movie, you can't change language! There is no way to change the language when plugged in and if i change language before i plug it, it switch back to original language by itself so i guess my choice of language is not important for apple!!! So i paid 6$ for nothing and we had to go rent the movie at the video store... I will not rent a movie on itunes again unless they create a solution fir this issue.

    Adapter failings

The description says it mirrors what is on the iPad screen but try HBO GO on Dish Network. Says " not supported". Maybe HBO restriction but should be pointed out.
