    Lightning adaptor for iPhone 5

    • Written by from Dalton

It works for all my needs. It will Charge and play music on both my boom boxes. It is thicker than the original 30 pin plug but fortunately my cases and other devices will Accommodate the size. It is way overpriced therefore I only gave it a four star

Works great in my car! (VW Jetta)

    • Written by from Kaufman

My iPhone 5 came in today and I used this adapter to connect to the existing 30 pin connector that came in my 2010 VW Jetta TDI. At first it didn't work because the new phone didn't have any songs on it. Once I downloaded a song or two I retried the cable and it worked. Full skip, pause, play and playlist selection just like I had on the old 4S. I then noticed there was some crackling in the audio, I quickly resolved this by changing the AUX input on my car radio from the High setting back to Medium. Now it is perfect and I love it.
I chose this adapter over the one without the length of cable because the factory 30 pin wire that came with the car is too short and now with this adapter connected the phone can lie flat on the passenger seat! Very happy!

Although overpriced, it works in my car

    • Written by from Boring

I bought this product so I can use it in my car. I have a Kensington 2 in 1 AUX cable with the 30 pin connector for the older generation iphones/ipods. Thankfully, this adapter worked with my current setup. Also I have a Belkin sheer iphone 5 case and the slot was just big enough for the lightning port to enter, so whew...

Lets me control my iphone through my car electronics

    • Written by from Fremont

I bought this to connect my 5 to my car (Benz) electronics so I could control my phone with the car's joystick. Plugged it in and it worked perfectly (to my surprise). My car has a 30 pin cable out and this 30 pin to Lightning fit perfectly and is long enough to the two cables together can connect to the phone while in the cup holder.

My only complaint is the price (thus the 4 star rating). Apple should include one of these with every device as we've all made investments in 30 pin cables over the past 7 years. Starting to lose my patience with Apple over this one.

    good adapter

a bit pricey, but work well with all my home and car accessories. It also enables me to hook it up to my iPhone 5 without modding my case. (like the other adapter requires depending on the case you purchased)

    Does the job but expensive

    • Written by from Saint-Laurent

I used to connect my iPhone 4s to my car stereo system using 30-pin to RCA cable. But since the iPhone 5 has a new connector I had to buy an adapter. I chose this one because you can actually use it with a case and the connector is still thin not like other adapter which cover the whole bottom of the phone.
I just wish the phone came with these adapters since we did not choose to have this connector changed and yet we have to pay the price.

    It Works!

If you're like me you have at least 4 30 pin white cables; one at the office, one in each car and at least one at home. You buy this adapter because it works with your phone case Andy you carry it with you. White lightning connector cables are $19 and you can get white 30 pin cables for just a few bucks. You use this connector to use the 30 pin cables you have now. If you have to buy 4 lightning cables that's $80 and you still can't use the 30 pin docks without the adapter. This adapter while over priced at $39.99 it is still less than buying all new sync cables. This is a 5 star product but I only gave it 4 stars because of the price and Apple finding another way to make my wallet a little lighter. Apple you should have included one with the device, most of us would have bought at least one more.

If price is of no object then this is the cable for you.

    • Written by from Vero Beach

If your iPhone 5 needs a 30-pin connector adapter to connect to your old accessories, then this is the adapter for you. The other adapter that did not have the cable will not fit most of the iPhone 5 cases out there. This adapter is quite pricey but sure does the job of charging, syncing and playing music on you BOSE sound dock speaker system. However, it will not work with you old camera connection kit or 30-pin to AV cable either.

    Works perfectly

works as expected... the only thing I don't like is how the cable is thicker than the regular USB Lightning cable... and doesn't bend as well.

    Useful for iPhone 5 Accessories

    • Written by from Nyack

    Positives:
The extension adapters most useful attribute is to allow usage with most any iPhone 5 case and my main reason for its purchase. All my accessories have recognized my iPhone 5 for use as well as charge it while docked. The lightning adapter end and cabling are manufactured thick and strong to withstand repeated use. The 30 pin side is not overly thick to allow easy fit and connection with multiple accessories. Works great with my alarm clock!!!

    Negatives:
The cable itself is fairly stiff and not very flexible so it won't physically support your iPhone 5 as to allow it to standup by itself without assistance. It's made just as long as most of all the other Apple (0.2m) adapters so not too excessive or bulky. While use with my car adapter has been achievable it seems to have created audio issues while transitioning from a call back to playing music. A quirk I am still looking into.

Apple has created another award winning and selling accessory for its new lightning adapter.

    Works Great, Way over priced

I choose this because the 29$ option without a cord I knew would be incompatible with cases and the like so I paid $10 more to get something that would actually work. Considering that they are changing this I would have thought they'd include one with the phone.

Enough griping, this cable works great and has even made it easier for me to talk on the phone while it is plugged into my car. The cable I had was a little too short to not have a constant tugging from the coiled cord. Now with the extra 20cm I can talk comfortably.
