WHY??? would the audio and video out functions of the iPod touch gen 5 be different than the iPod Classic? If they were...and they are...why wouldn't Apple be professional enough to tell the buyer what the new setup is?????????????
Very, very frustrating.....

I bought this so I could play music in my car using my iPhone 5 BUT it ONLY works for the sound. It DOESN'T show the music info or allow me to change the song like my iPhone 4s. Now I have to look at my phone to change the song instead of my stereo and last time I checked it's a hefty fine to get a ticket for being on your phone.

The REAL reason I am giving it 1 star is because after a 3 months it already disconnects and connects simply by touching the chord. I keep it in my car for the most part so it's not like I'm carry it around where it could be damaged. I would expect it to at least last as long as some of my iPhone chargers I have had for YEARS!

I TRAVEL ALOT AND HAVE TO PACK MY CORD ALOT AND THIS CABLE COULD NOT STAND UP TO IT AT ALL Vs THE OLD STYLE CABLE WITH PRIOR IPHONES ETC 4S,4,3.THE LIGHTNING CABLE NEAR THE LIGHTNING END IS ALL SCRUNCHED UP AND NOW IT WILL NOT CHARGE THE PHONE UNLESS I MOVE THE PHONE IN A SPECIFIC POSITION SO THAT IT WILL CHARGE AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FROM SUCH A QUALITY COMPANY AS APPLE TO PUT OUT SUCH A HORRIBlE CABLE AND ESPECIALLY WHEN WE CAN PURCHASE THE SAME TYPE OF CABLE FROM A THIRD PARTY MANUFACTURER AT BETTER QUALITY THAN THE
OEM = ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER!!!!!!!

This device is GREAT if you don't mind paying $40 for something that allows your device to function with limitations. No video support. Audio support is limited depending on the accessory you're using it with. But its GREAT for syncing and charging. That said, so was the lightning cable that came with the phone. This is a $40 waste of money and poor decision on Apple's part to switch from 30 pin to lightning.

Prior i bought this, i thought it will be applicable for my previous VGA Adapter for my Ipad2.
unfortunately, the seller at Paragon SG did not explain that for VGA adapter only can be applicable with new VGA Cable!!!!!
now, i only can use this to charge using my previous charger??? :(

The length of this adapter cable makes it completely worthless. I cannot imagine an application where this length of cable would help anyone. Couple that with the fact that no one appears to make a lightning extension cable and I have NO solution to connect my new phone to my old docking stations.
Apple - Seriously, think about this for a minute and fix it. I need a 3 foot (1 m) cable. for the price you're charging for this cable, an extra 2.4 feet of cable isn't going to make any real difference in base cost and you might actually sell some of them.

I bought this because I got the ipod 5th gen for christmas but I have an expensive and high quality clock radio that I love and still want to use from LAST christmas.

This cord works for charging when plugged into the old 30pin-to-USB cord and to my computer.

This cord DOES NOT work for much else, especially not my clock radio. It doesn't even acknowledge that it's plugged in!!

I wish I could take the whole ipod back I am so angry. I will at least take the cord to the store and DEMAND my $40 back. NO WAY, Apple. Absolutely no way.

You morons changed the plug so you morons need to create an adapter that works.

I like apple products but this is an insult.

The lightning to 30-pin adapter with the cord does NOT work in my 2013 Bentley Continental GT. Sound is very Very BAD and distorted.
I'm going to try an adapter only. I think because of thisextendedd cable this is happening.
Someone posted a review on the adapter site that it works great but it did not with the cord adapter.

This cable works fine... lets me use all of my old iOS devices with my iPhone 5. The absolutely ridiculous part of this is that Apple wants $40 for a cable, A CABLE, that will let me use my new iPhone with the hundreds of dollars of other Apple products I've already invested in. So... now I have to spend more. Not a great way for Apple to say thanks for investing in Apple products.
