    Works as described

    • Written by from gilbert

Took less than 5 minutes to test. Used an iPad Air, RAW files from 5diii (regular JPEG would work too), and a San Disk extreme 16g card. Able to transfer raw files just fine. Some of my iPad editing apps would not open file. Used SnapSeed app 1st then save image to camera roll. From camera roll you can edit using any app because I believe Snapseed saves as JPEG. File resolution is adequate for the iPads retina screen. I'm only using this for social media. I've read the files are trimmed.

I only use 16g cards to reduce the chance to loose data.

Be aware if you have a 64g card this reader will not work.

    Great product!

Bought this for a vacation I'm going on since I'm not planning to take my MacBook Pro on the road. I can now take pictures freely with my DSLR and transfer them to my iPad in a matter of 1 minute! Simple and easy to work with. I recommend it to everyone!

I use a Sandisk Extreme Plus 64 GB in my GoPro and it reads it fine. This is a very handy addition to my IPad mini.

I have used this multiple times and have had no issue whatsoever with my iPad Air. Plug it in, go to "photos", and click "import" below. I can pull 1080p60 (yes, 60 fps) video or 720p120 from my GoPro Hero 3 and from my Canon SX700. It is excellent because I can then open up those videos in iMovie and make smooth slow-motion videos. I use SanDisk Ultra HD cards. I have yet to use a 64gb card due to some user reviews about having trouble with that, but I am going to get one and try it out here soon.

I was surprised at all the negative reviews. I am guessing some customers must have camcorders that use incompatible file formats.

    Works Flawlessly

    • Written by from La Puente

I think those that say "nothing happens" are unaware that you have to go into your photos and press the "import" button. Nothing pops up when you insert the SD card. I use mine with a iPad Mini Retina and a 64gb SanDisk with no issues. I even move the entire DCIM folder from my cf cards to the SD card and am able to import images from my DSLR. The ONLY wish item I have is that this would work on the iPhone as well. Other than that no issues.

I needed a device to store photos so I went out today & bought the iPad mini & this little guy. I almost didn't buy an iPad cause I was worried about being able to transfer pics easily. I was still hesitant after seeing the reviews, but thought/hoped I could figure it out. This was incredibly easy to use. Popped the SD card out of my camera & into the SD Reader & the iPad basically did everything else. Great product, very easy to use!!

Works great, if you know how to use it properly:)

All you have to do is plug it in then open the photos app and BAM! All my extremely high quality photos are there, ready to be posted. Some people think that plugging it in will take you to the photos, but that's not true. You plug it in, open photos, notice at the icons on the bottom an extra one you don't normally see and tap it, then you can import or delete photos. Easy as pie.

    Perfect Ten

    • Written by from Wauwatosa

After reading all the reviews I was paranoid about this. So I went to store, got one, and connected to my iPad Air. It worked perfectly!

I tried three different cameras, nikon L24. P90, D3200 with my iPad Air 32 GB . Normal photographs and movies on 8GB. 16GB, and 32GB. Imported in 1 to 2 seconds. All SD cards were Sandisk, ranging from 8 to 32GB, not cheap knock offs. Special thanks to Debbie at the Milwaukee Mayfair store for being so helpful! :>

    Worked beautifully for my uses

    • Written by from Norwalk

Used this to transfer photos from 3 of my cameras:
    GoPro HD Hero 3+
    Canon 5D Classic
    Sony Nex 6

All of my memory cards are 32GB and smaller

was able to upload photos from my gopro (uses mirco SD) with an SD adaptor. This worked wondefully, was able to see full res videos after transferring.

Worked fine with pictures shot in RAW and JPEG on my 5D classic (uses CF but have SD to CF adaptor). In iPhoto it recognizes that it is a raw image, but I am not sure if it converts to JPEG or reduces the size of the photo. I will compare file size compared on my computer vs iPad.

nex 6 worked fine, no issues std SD usage.

A little bit pricey but it worked well. If you don't want to wait for the import window to appear, open up pictures, and the import icon should show at the bottom in a few seconds or less.

    Works Perfectly

I have the same card reader for my Ipad 3 with the old connector, but needed the new lightning connector for my Ipad mini. This works perfectly and exactly like the other one. You plug it into the ipad, insert the card and it uploads onto iphoto. No problem, no delay. I have no idea how anyone found this difficult or challending. A great purchase.

I love this thing, because I still use my camera a lot. My phone just doesn't have the zoom capability. I upload the pics to my iPad to show others and share. It's great.

    Read the compatibility section

    • Written by from Roswell

For crying out loud people! Read the compatibility section before giving the thing a 1 star rating. It only works with iPad and iPad mini. It specifically does not include the iPhone!

So far, my reader has worked with any card I put in it, but that's just me. I just wish the cable was a bit longer.

Does what it says it does.

    • Written by from Canyon Country

Ok so, all I see here is that it won't work with 64 gig cards blah blah blah. Seems to me you are the ones who did not do your research before you bought it. I read everything I can about almost everything I buy and i ask questions too. So I bought it knowing what it will and will not work with. No it does not work with your iphone so all you need to do is use the icloud, simple. this has done everything I need it to do and I bought it because I researched it and knew what it is for going in. Oh ya, some have said they cant use cloud because of no wifi, well I fixed that as well, just use your phone as a hot spot and your done BAM!

I love this connector. It works perfectly, although I use SD cards only in the 8-32 GB range so I don't have problems with larger cards. I find it especially useful when traveling since I can back-up my photos occasionally, while sampling the local wine or espresso, and then send them up to the cloud each evening.

    Worked out of the box

    • Written by from BLOOMFIELD

I was worried it would not work after reading reviews. I had no issues and it sent my t4i images right down to the ipad. I wish it was cheaper or included, but it works thus far, so I am happy.Card reader did not affect the sd card- I placed sd back in the camera and it worked just fine. Place the reader on the ipad first, then place the card inside. Youtube as an excellent review of this reader.
