Ok so, all I see here is that it won't work with 64 gig cards blah blah blah. Seems to me you are the ones who did not do your research before you bought it. I read everything I can about almost everything I buy and i ask questions too. So I bought it knowing what it will and will not work with. No it does not work with your iphone so all you need to do is use the icloud, simple. this has done everything I need it to do and I bought it because I researched it and knew what it is for going in. Oh ya, some have said they cant use cloud because of no wifi, well I fixed that as well, just use your phone as a hot spot and your done BAM!

I love this connector. It works perfectly, although I use SD cards only in the 8-32 GB range so I don't have problems with larger cards. I find it especially useful when traveling since I can back-up my photos occasionally, while sampling the local wine or espresso, and then send them up to the cloud each evening.

I was worried it would not work after reading reviews. I had no issues and it sent my t4i images right down to the ipad. I wish it was cheaper or included, but it works thus far, so I am happy.Card reader did not affect the sd card- I placed sd back in the camera and it worked just fine. Place the reader on the ipad first, then place the card inside. Youtube as an excellent review of this reader.

Works great with Pentax DSLR camera

I bought this adapter so I could see all my vacation photos while still away. It transfers all the photos to the iPad flawlessly and even gives you the choice of which pictures to transfer and which to delete. The iPad even knows which is the latest batch of pictures that were transferred. The best part is people will want to see your pics on the iPad but not on the small screen on the camera.

For the manager at Fairview Mall's Apple store, please advise your staff that yes video can be imported from SD cards to the ipad. I was told that it couldn't by a staffer there!

Insert SD card, plug into iPad, import photos to iPad, replace SD in camera... no changes to the format of the SD. In other words, the product does what it is supposed to.

Works just like I expected it would. Just as others before me have said, if you just want to transfer pics from a computer to your ipad using an SD card, simply pop the card in a camera and format it. Then use card to transfer pics between computer and ipad. Otherwise ipad will not recognize pics on card.

Bought this to transfer pictures from my point and shoot camera to my iPad 4. Having this ability is great because I can leave my expensive lap top at home and just bring my much more portable iPad on trips. It works perfectly.

As an added bonus, i found that it also transfers video from my GoPro Hero 3 action camera too! The GoPro uses a micro SD card so i used a micro SD to SD adapter and it worked perfect. I bought iMovie and now I can also edit the videos as well. This card reader really makes the iPad that much more usefull.

Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader Works on Ipad 4 with Retina Display

    • Written by from LAS VEGAS

Please see review dated Nov. 6, 2012 answered by Josh S. on Nov. 15, 2012. His instructions work. If you are not using an SD card that was used to take pics with your camera, you have to create a DCIM folder and a sub folder inside of it named 100DICAM on the SD card. Then place your pics in the sub folder and they must be an 8 character format such as DSC_1234. I used a number scheme to name each pic such as 100_1111, 100_1112, etc. See the review dated Nov. 6, 2012. I have an IPad4 with Retina display and purchased the Lightning SD Card Camera Reader today. I just finished making the folder, sub folder, and renaming my pics. I then was able to import the pics to my IPad 4 using the SD Card Camera Reader. Works Great!

CREATE a DCIM FOLDER if you are transferring pictures!!!!

I was originally going to return the card reader because it didn't work at all. I wanted to use it to transfer pictures I had stored on my laptop to the mini iPad. I did the copying to the sd card and plugged it into the iPad and nothing happened. It was so frustrating. I did this several times.

Thankfully, I saw the question and answer section on this website. First all the pictures had to put into a DCIM folder (just create it on the sd card). After I did that, it worked like a charm! I plugged the connector into the iPad and it automatically went to the camera section and asked if I wanted to download the pictures.

This connector assumes that you are taking a card directly out of your camera and then into the connector. No comment on that assumption!

I have tired it with 5 different SD cards. Works with all of them. Does what it states nothing more nothing less. If you are looking to add more storage to your iPad your'e looking at the wrong solution. It was made to go along with a digital camera. Not replace a laptop to someone of you reviewers.
This is what it is for. I am on a trip in say Cuba. I just took some amazing pictures with my digital DSR. Now I want to share some of those pictures on Facebook. This device will allow you to upload pictures to your iPad and view them. Then with your iPad connected to the internet via wifi or 3G you can share the pictures whatever way you want. It goes great with a digital camera. You can edit/photoshop the pictures on your iPad and make room on your SD card for more pictures.

If your SD card isn't working then check the lock toggle on the side of the SD card. It is sometimes hit while pushing the SD card into the slot.

If I had one problem with the reader it would be that there is no cover over the SD slot. While not a big problem it would be nice to protect from dust and sand.

perfect memory portal for large/multiple videos on smaller ipad minis

Have a 16GB ipad mini, but how to pack around a lot of videos to watch without clogging my ipad mini? Use this with a card to keep X ammount of videos to watch and upload at whim to my mini to watch, also use SD card as a photo library. basically this makes your ipad mini into a much larger platform for getting vids and pics onto it without having your computer at hand to upload new / diff vids or photos from. which is perfect for travel where you want a HUGE GB of vids to upload to watch on your ipad mini.
