It does not work on my iPad Mini and a new Nikon Coolpix S01. (I even disabled the charge via computer on the camera!)

I hope Apple will fix this soon or warn users that this adapter is not working on the iPad Mini and Apple does not even support the new iPod Touch 5G. Because users like me can always buy a new, better product instead – right?

People need to be a little more knowledgeable before leaving negative remarks. You might need a powered hub for this device, check with the manufacturer of your device, not Apple. Works great on Samsung TL225 by e way.

I purchased this to transfer my Raw images and jpeg's from my Canon 5D Mark II to my iPad 4 and it works Great, I also tried it with my Kodak A250 50 in 1 card reader I can plug my CF card in and it works as well, any photographer using his/her iPad for photo viewing and minor editing this cable is a must. The only issue I encountered is that it did not work with the Eye-fi card.

This product is great for the new iPad I bought! I received the message "requires too much power" and fixed that problem real quick. I went on my camera and changed the charging option to off. After that it has been flawless! I am ready for Germany now!

I have the camera adapter for the iPad 2 and saw the same problem some of you mentioned about "too much power". The camera is trying to charge itself from the iPad which can't supply the power for that. You have to turn off USB charging on your camera. My Nikon S4000 has this in the options. It works fine after disabling USB charging in the camera.

This cable works flawlessly with my gear. I can import raw files from my Nikon cameras, and even import raw files from my Fuji X-Pro 1! From there I can take my photos into Photoshop Touch or Snapseed for a quick edit and send. The lightning connector makes pluging in dead simple. Well done.

I have the mini iPad and have been using this adapter to transfer my photos. I find it very easy to use. I have had no problems with transferring my pictures from the card to my mini iPad.

After purchasing a different connector yesterday from an apple store where I was sold the wrong item, I exchanged it for this one. However upon trying this with my Nikon cool pix S6300 digital camera just now I have found that this doesn't work - just says "attached USB device requires too much power" after playing around for a bit, still can't get it to even register my camera let alone transfer my photos! Also can't seem to find a list of compatible or non compatible cameras anywhere on the Apple website. Looks like I'm going to have to do the 50 mile round trip to the nearest apple store for the 3rd time this week to get a refund on this useless accessory that does not do the only thing it is designed to do! Not happy!

I find this product frustrating. Advertised to transfer pictures and videos from SD to iPad but find that the results are inconsistent with pictures and transferring video is even harder. I would not recommend this at the moment.

Works perfect with the Canon 7D. I just connect it to my iPad mini, turn on the camera, and it automatically uploads the files. I believe if you are shooting in RAW, it uses the jpeg generated by the camera. Fantastic!

    Not compatible with Olympus TG-1

It recognizes the files in my Rebel XTi, but does not show previews for RAW files. They do import, however. Unfortunately, the camera I got this for was my point and shoot, an Olympus TG-1. It gets the "accessory requires too much power" message. I can take the card out and put in my card reader, which is powered, and it will read it, but that sort of defeats the purpose as I wanted something for traveling and on the go situations. Looks like I have to purchase the sd card one, too. Can't give up the USB because the Canon takes compact flash. Kind of disappointing. Seems like there should be a better all in one sort of solution.

While on vacation : my USB Card Reader and GoPro hero2 Camera were not recognized, both 'required too much power'. Only with my canon 20d I was able to import pictures. Thus: a dissapointing Connector.

Was much easier than I thought it was going to be to import to my iPad Mini via USB connection direct to my Nikon D4. It imported the NEF files and I was able to view and sort them through the Photos app. Emailed one to myself and it had converted it to JPG automatically. (Not sure yet if it stores them as JPG or NEF _after_ import?). Pretty cool and will allow me to do quick imports on the road.

This iten is a total waste of money. Does not work with a Sandisk card reader. does not work with a Canon 7D DSLR or Canon point and shoot camera or any flash drive. Don't know how Apple can sell this item that has so many bugs.

I bought this today to go with my iPad mini. Just posting here to confirm that it worked flawlessly between my 40D (shooting RAW) and my iPad mini. I'm now on the hunt for apps that will utilize this cable for tethered shooting or other cool things
