These chargers are one of the worst chargers in the world. I don't bend or play with them while my phone is charging and they brake. They are the most flimsiest and thinnest chargers in the world and most easy to brake. If Apple wants to carry on making money and keeping customers happy the they really need to think of ways to make the charger stronger and less harder to brake and bend. It's ridiculous. Get it sorted

I'm ordering my fourth lightning cable for my iPad retinal display...doesn't matter what length it is?.it breaks where the cord attaches to the lightning plug...This is ridiculous...I'm going on a month long trip to Africa and will have to take a spare just in case. I hate this product.

    I'm very upset

    • Written by from McKinney

I have purchased 2 iPad airs, an iPad mini, and 2 5s phone sthis year replacing all of our old previous gen gear. Also bought another 27" iMac (3500.00 model) and another Thunderbolt Display.

ALL of our cords on the iPads and phones have gone belly up. I travel extensively and HAVE TO HAVE my gear working and charged. Going to my local apple store today with a handful of bad cords. They better replace them AND give me spares.

I don't know what other people are saying about it breaking every month or so, but I've had mine since I got my iPhone 5 1 and a half years ago. The original cable still works perfectly, and is a great product. Thank you Apple!

    BIG Disappointment

    • Written by from Stockton

I purchased this USB cable thinking it would last a lot longer than the one that
came with the Ipad. What a huge disappointment. I haven't used it for a year (generous estimate)
and it has already quit working. So now I am back to using the supplied USB cable.
I am wondering if I received a defective one, or if this is a problem that others are experiencing?

I will look for my receipt and see if it came with a warranty. Seems like Apple should stand behind their

    Still working 1 year later

    • Written by from Fremont

I bought the 2 m version over a year ago and it is working fine without any sign of wear. However, a 1 m one (that came with my iPhone 6) wore through at the lightning connector end just as so many reviewers have communicated. But all my kids (4) and my wife have had lightning connectors for the past 0.5-1.5 years and it is just one of the six that wore through. With that said, one is too many. Apple makes quality products, but it doesn't take much for otherwise satisfied customers to become disgruntled. Come on Apple!

Good cord, should of been packed with iPad Air

    • Written by from Brampton

iPad Air comes with a 1 m cord. That is just too short for practical use. When at a desk, I rather have my iPad plugged in than have it run off its battery. The iPad Air won't charge when connected to a USB port on a Mac and if plugged into a wall outlet, the cord is just too short to reach over the back of a desk. My 1 m cord had to come up the front of my desk and when not in use, the cord would lay on the floor. While on the floor like that, it ended up being accidentally rolled over with my desk chair a few times. Cord got damaged because of that (still works) but I ordered the 2 m cord.

This cord is so much better and really, should of been included with the iPad instead of the 1 m cord. Now the cord reaches the power outlet, up and over the back of my desk and stays safe on top and off the floor.

    Are you kidding me?!?

    • Written by from Los Alamitos

Freaking ridiculous , no one should ever have to pay thirty dollars for a charger. ESPECIALLY one with this horrible quality , Apple has been having so many problems it's really making me want to switch over to android . I can go anywhere and buy a 7 dollar charger but now since the update my phone is not allowing me to use it . $30 is a freaking joke.

Great product... I don't know what everyone else's problem is

    • Written by from Wausau

I love this cable. It's a lower gauge cable so it's a little thicker than the stock one and what I'm guessing everyone who says it's so fragile does is puts the cable at an extreme angle right before the connector to strip the wiring. Of course it will break if you stress it and yank it out of the socket or the lightning connector but if you're like me and take care of your expensive apple products you will have no problem. With some other long cheap cables that I've bought the charging speed reduced but this cable preserves the original charging speed if you use an apple charger that came with your phone. Don't listen to the uneducated and ignorant reviewers, if you use this cable normally you won't regret your purchase.

I have to buy ANOTHER cable... AGAIN?!

    • Written by from Richfield

Seriously, I keep this next to my bed and on a stand. It should be able to withstand the normal plus in every night.... But the cord cannot!

The cord is the worst quality I have ever had from a charger... Can you please go back to the ugly black hard plastic so that it stops being destroyed!

This is the 7th cable I am buying this year alone and it is only July 3rd, 2014!

I don't want to buy a knock off in case it makes my phone explode!

Lightning to USB Cable (2 m) 6 ft

    • Written by from Salt lake city

While the service at the Apple Store was awesome, I'm disappointed in the new cable! The length of the cord is great but seems to have a short when I attempt to plug it into my iPhone 5 from the very first use. I have to plug, un-plug, flip it over, try to plug again before I can get it to work. This has me concerned with the quality of both the cord and my iPhone. This is the first iPhone I've owned and it has been enjoyable accept when it comes time to charge it. I can see by other reviews that I'm not the only customer experiencing problems with this cable and it is rather expensive as well. Hopefully Apple will fix this issue or I may go to another phone over a charging cable!

    Does Not Work Well

    • Written by from Redondo Beach

I have had to replace my original cord so many times it makes me wonder whether it is worth getting the newer iPhones if they use this lightning cord. I have purchased a minimum of five cords within the last year and one-half since I purchased my phone. This is ridiculous and I have yet to see a response from Apple.

Apple do you hear our complaints?

    Not bad

    • Written by from Georgetown

This cable is ok, I've had two in the last two years and they work fine, but they don't last that long. The insulation at the lightning end of the cable usually breaks and splits, and exposes the wires inside. You can wrap the broken bit with electrical tape but that's a bit geeky. It works though.

The phone is great, the cable is terrible. The cable gets broken internally just beneath the connector ending up with an intermittent connection and eventual failure. My older non apple phones never needed a replacement cable EVER. This lightening cable is terribly fragile.
