    Does not last long!

    • Written by from pacoima

Complete bs apple! They update their firmware so you cant use 3rd party cables and buy their cables. Now, if thats not bad, the lightning cable itself does not last long! I bought TWO genuine apple cables and both have some pins corroded/burnt out. Thanks apple! Extremely dissatisfied

    RIP OFFS

    • Written by from mascoutah

These chargers are a rip off. I have been through around SEVEN chargers now after only a few months. I have tried this product, as well as the amazon knock off product, but neither work. This product has caused me A LOT of frustration and money. I am one very unhappy customer, and have honestly thought about switching phones just to save money in buying more and more chargers.

    STEVE WOULD FIRE EVERYONE

    • Written by from Rockford

I've gone through 5 cables and the sixth is on its way out. I love the Apple brand as I have everything Apple, with the exception of a TV that they have yet to produce. They better fix this with the iPhone 6 coming out soon. If not, they will lose a loyal customer to Android (ughh)...

    Terrible

    • Written by from Willis

The phone is great, the cable is terrible. The cable gets broken internally just beneath the connector ending up with an intermittent connection and eventual failure. My older non apple phones never needed a replacement cable EVER. This lightening cable is terribly fragile.

    Disposable grade cables

    • Written by from Kingston

The idea works great, and are well engineered. However, I think they are deliberately fragile. I am on my third $30 cable now, less than one year in. The durability of this cable is worse than the fake one I got off ebay.

    Turtleneck

    • Written by from Acton

This is going to be the second replacement cable I'm buying. I find it ridiculous that Apple cannot solve this problem of the cable getting a "turtleneck" and then stop working after a few days. Since I do not have time to go to the nearest Apple Store, I have to wait for shipping and I cannot use my device until then. If these cords cannot last more than 6 months, they shouldn't be so pricey. Overall, I'm very disappointed in this product.

    Terrible Cord

    • Written by from Granger

Cord did not even last 2 months, and looks like new. Also plan on waiting an hour to get a new one if it breaks after driving 45 minutes to one of their apple stores. Terrible customer service. Not sure why everyone likes this apple stuff so much. Over priced junk!!!!!!!!

    Breaks very easily

    • Written by from Patchogue

My 17 year old son received an iPad Air for Christmas and two of these cords. He is not rough with the cords and uses them to charge the iPad when he is not using it. One of the cables has already broken inside the casing and it was less than 5 months old. For $30 I expected this product to last a lot longer than 5 months.

    I'm very upset

    • Written by from McKinney

I have purchased 2 iPad airs, an iPad mini, and 2 5s phone sthis year replacing all of our old previous gen gear. Also bought another 27" iMac (3500.00 model) and another Thunderbolt Display.

ALL of our cords on the iPads and phones have gone belly up. I travel extensively and HAVE TO HAVE my gear working and charged. Going to my local apple store today with a handful of bad cords. They better replace them AND give me spares.

This is my THIRD cord for my iPad. They always break at the computer connection. If I spend $30 more dollars, they'll mail it to me for free. Hahaha!

    Garbage Cables

    • Written by from Highland

Every single cable I have owned frays and breaks in the exact same spot. At first I thought I was being too rough on them however for the last two I have taken great care to keep them nice and still the same results. The rubber material you use now, APPLE, is garbage and should be replaced with a new more durable rubber.

    Poor Quality Cable

    • Written by from Idaho Falls

I purchased this cable from an Apple store and it only lasted a couple of months. The cable is not thick enough and is susceptible to bending and breaking.

    TRASH

    • Written by from Philadelphia

The cord gets bent very easily at the top. If you treat it well and don't bend it, it still doesn't work. I have bought 6 chargers and I haven't even had my iPhone 5s for a year yet. I've tried different brands of cords and it says not accessible for your phone. The cord just doesn't work and it needs to be fixed this is getting ridiculous.

    Horrible

    • Written by from Dartmouth

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. These chargers are so expensive and are horrible. They break within a month of having them even though I am extremely careful. This has to be my 10th cable I have gotten this year. It's getting to be a little ridiculous and almost makes me want to switch to android so I wouldn't be spending so much on these cables. Come on apple... step your game up.

    Are you kidding me?!?

    • Written by from Los Alamitos

Freaking ridiculous , no one should ever have to pay thirty dollars for a charger. ESPECIALLY one with this horrible quality , Apple has been having so many problems it's really making me want to switch over to android . I can go anywhere and buy a 7 dollar charger but now since the update my phone is not allowing me to use it . $30 is a freaking joke.

    Worst Charger so far

    • Written by from London

Its actually one of apples worst models ever. To be honest, they need to make another charger for iPhone 5c and 5s because this cable wire does not last very long at all. Its only been less than 2 months and already im going to have to buy another one; which will be my 3rd or 4th one within a Year and a half. If i never had an iphone 5 i would never use it, i honestly would never recommend it, however theres no other charger/ cable possible to use with an iPhone 5.

I have had two of the cables go bad. The wiring is of poor quality and they are not cheap to replace. I expected more from Apple. Very disappointed.

    Breaks at lightning speed

    • Written by from Houston

I think it is called "lighting" because it breaks in a flash. Even though I have been very careful with it, it stopped working after a couple of months. Please believe the one star reviews because they are all correct. I bought the longer cord from the Apple store, not online. Apple, please fix this problem and be loyal to your customers, there is obviously a problem.

Lightning to USB Cable (2 m) 6 ft

    • Written by from Salt lake city

While the service at the Apple Store was awesome, I'm disappointed in the new cable! The length of the cord is great but seems to have a short when I attempt to plug it into my iPhone 5 from the very first use. I have to plug, un-plug, flip it over, try to plug again before I can get it to work. This has me concerned with the quality of both the cord and my iPhone. This is the first iPhone I've owned and it has been enjoyable accept when it comes time to charge it. I can see by other reviews that I'm not the only customer experiencing problems with this cable and it is rather expensive as well. Hopefully Apple will fix this issue or I may go to another phone over a charging cable!
