    Bad quality

    • Written by from Columbia

I got the iphone 5 the day it was released in Oct. 2012. I am now about to order cord #3 and it's only February 2013. If the cord gets bent in any way at any point in time, it starts going quickly. It's frustrating.

    Cable isn't worth it

    • Written by from Shawnee

Obviously the people with five start reviews have to be being paid to say good things about this cable. I mean maybe it is good for people with pixie fingers who don't have any sort of cover on their phone or ipad but for those of us normal people who want to protect their highly over priced toys this cable is junk. The sheath protecting the lightning end is already coming off on both my cables and I was fairly certain it should at least stay on for more than one use. Apple is only doing what all companies eventually do and that is make something cheaply so you have to keep buying a replacement after they have you hooked to the main item they are selling.

    Poor Quailty

    • Written by from Raleigh

I have lighting to USB cords both purchased in October. One pretty much stays at my desk, the other is used for my car (and sometimes in the house). The sheath on both chargers are already peeling away on both the connector end and the usb end. The car charger only works if you hold it. Apple has started making very poor quality accessories. This isn't the first cord from apple Ive had to replace. I feel like I am having to replace every apple cord I own at more frequent intervals. Get it together Apple. Really.

Love The New Design - Lightning Cable is Reliable and Works Great!

    • Written by

I bought my iPhone when it first came out and the lightning cables (2 of them) are still in pristine condition. I read some of the reviews where people are having issues with them fraying and bunching and not charging. I question how these people treat the cables. You do have to respect technology and have some very basic awareness about how to plug the cables in gently and not yank them from the wall charger. These cables should last for years if treated properly. Don't blame Apple for your rough treatment of it's technology.

    Awful

    • Written by from Atlanta

I just got the iPhone 5 as a Christmas gift (2 months ago) and the cord is already scrunched at the lightening end and I have to hold it in some awkward position UNTIL TODAY to the point where it wont even charge at all! Apparently a lot of other people have this problem because when I went out to buy a new one, they were all sold out. I think this new cord was not a smart idea and I for one do not want to continue to pay $20 every two months for this.

    Very disappointed

    • Written by from Esko

I have had my iPhone 5 for about 4 months and the cord barely works anymore. It only charges if its bent a certain way. It's annoying because the old style of USB on earlier models lasted forever and I never had problems

I've had the iphone 5 for three months and the lightning end of the cord is already worn and has to be in the right position to charge.

I have gone through 6 cables. They are cheaply made and short. I almost wish I would've stayed with the iphone4. At least the cables were durable.

    Disappointed

I bought the phone in December and I lay in bed and might browse for a few minutes and then set it down to charge. The cord started to bunch near the lightning end of it and in turn developed a hole. When I paid 220 dollars for the phone I expected something slightly more durable.

    I love this

    • Written by from Uncasville

I love this new cable and connection. It is so easy to attach to your device, no fiddling around as you have to do with the huge 30 pin connector. I love that it is also right whichever way you plug it in, meaning that you don't have to turn it over if it's not fitting right the first time. I've had no problem what so ever with charging my devices. As I said my main love of the connector is how sturdy it is and how easy it is to use. I love it.

    Broken Already

Purchased my iPhone 5 in October and I need a new charging cord already. I had my previous cord for ages on my 3Gs. Not a happy camper since my phone didn't charge last night. I'm saddened because I usually love apple products....but not this cord! Guess I'll be at the store today buying a new one :-(.

    horrible

    • Written by from Fullerton

ive had this for just over 3 months and the cable near the lightning end is all scrunched up and now it won't charge my phone unless i spend 5 minutes maneuvering the phone into a specific position so that it will charge and then i can't even touch it otherwise it will disconnect. i like the idea of the lightning over the 30 pin, but in terms of quality and implementation, i am very disappointed by this piece of s product i received.

    iphone 5 charger breaks easily

    • Written by from CLINTON TOWNSHIP

My daughter got the new iPhone 5 for Christmas (just 2 months ago) and we are on cord #4! They are cheaply made in comparison to the old chargers for all my other Apple products. I think they are extremely expensive and poorly made. Come one Apple. I expect more from your company!

    Poorly made charger...

    • Written by from New York

We bought the Ipod 5 for my teen aged daughter for Christmas. She loves it. But she has not been able to charge her Ipod 5 for a few days now because the small end of the charger broke. She is only allowed to use it at home, never outside and when it's charging it's charging in one place. The fact that it's been plugged in and out of the device wears it out this quickly is a bummer. For the product itself I would give more stars, but not the accessory. Should be covered by the warranty :-)
