    Worst cable ever

    $19 for a cable that will end up splitting in various spots. I dont care how fancy the box is but you cant put lipstick on this pig! Horrible

    Keep Breaking

    I'm very careful with all products I buy, never had any problem with the old USB cables, but this one seriously takes the biscuit. We have 4 USB cables at home and currently only one of them doesn't have a split. It seems that the insulation around the wires is always coming away from where it meets the lightning connection... It's getting a little annoying now! sort out your build quality!

    I have purchased 4 of these cables in the past 2 years because of my increasing need to have this cable. I have gone from 1 to 3 IOS devices in this amount of time, and I don't see anything wrong with the OEM cables. I can't say the same thing for the third party cable sold outside of apples website, but I have never broken any of my cables. They last so long, I lose them before they break! I have kept these cables for 18 months at a time, charging iPads, and even under a high load of 12W iPad charging, these things DONT BREAK. :)

    Awful quality.. especially if you consider the high price

    I have bought two cables and both are really struggling at the moment. They charge only under one specific angle. So i have to buy two new cables, which cost a fortune! This isn't the quality i am used to from apple.

    I have been a faithful apple user since 2006 and have owned multiple apple products; macbooks, ipads, ipods, and iphones. I have had the Iphone since the first generation came out and never once had to replace any cable. I have had my 5S for 8 months now, and just purchased my fifth cable cord. I have bought all of my accessories from Apple or from AT&T (my provider) and the quality in this product is absolutely disappointing. I hope that Apple takes a look at all of the negative reviews on here and does something about it. I will be forced to buy another phone/tablet in the future if I have to continue to replace the cords. APPLE please do something about this horrible product, this is way beneath your standards.

    We're buying a new cable every 4-6 weeks

    The failure rate of the charging cables almost criminal.
    Speaking of iPad 5.

    I strongly recommend taking a good look at what the competition
    Has to offer with regards to tablets that won't require the upkeep
    That the iPad needs.
    I find Apple to be more "sizzle" than substance.

    6 months with the phone already bought 7 chargers for it . They all broke at the same place. The last one I bought I decided to put electric tape around it and still broke after 2 weeks. Very disappointed with this .

    I have bought countless replacements for these little chargers and I'm sick of it. They break constantly and it's not even like I'm misusing the product or not taking proper care of it. Pathetic for a quality brand like apple to produce something like this. The old chargers worked fine and I would rather have one that works than one that's smaller and breaks all the time. Don't fix what isn't broken. I'm expecting a free replacement.

    I prefer the design over the old one as it's much smaller, and reversible too. But the problem is the build quality. I've looked after my cable well, but the outer sheath has come away near the connector. I've put some tape around it but I think it will stop working soon. I got the cable with my iPhone 5 so it's less than 2 years old. My friend's cable stopped working last week and hers is just 15 months old. I talked to the manager at Apple Ginza but he would not replace it. Just told me I should buy a new one - at 2000yen! If it's so expensive, the least Apple can do is ensure it's quality. Very disappointing!

    Very durable if you treat it GENTLY!!!

    This new cable is much much better than the old 30-pin cable. It is very nice that it is reversible. A lot of people are saying that the cord near the lightning plug eventually shrivels up and stops working. Well, mine has been working perfectly ever since I got it with my iPhone 5S in May. As long as you treat your cord gently, it won't break!

    All of my 6 chargers have broke! All in 1 year, it has poor quality and should only be worth $7-10. Apple needs to fix the charger!!!

    So easily broken...

    We have used three chargers so far and they all broke within the first 2-3 months; the third broke within 2 weeks! They are either very fragile or very poorly made. And with the amount of money they cost, they really should be upgraded. There is no point to a phone if it isn't charged. I would give this zero stars if I could.

    This charger is horrible. Fix the problem. I have spent lots of money for a small cable that keeps breaking. So what's the point of having the iPhone 5s anymore when it's always dead and a charger keeps breaking. Please fix this problem

    Cable is poorly made

    Phone is great, cable is not. I've been an apple user for over 6 years. I have 6 kids and multiple, 30 pin apple products, all without problems. Apple switches to the Lightning plug and I had to switch all the cables as we upgraded phones, IPads and Ipods.

    The problem is the Lightning Cable does not hold up at all with average use. My kids range in age of 22 to 16 and all of them have replace cables and I try to rationalize that they are younger and usually more abusive to the cable.

    I'm a 52 year old man with five lightning cables and three have failed in 10 months or less.

    Its a poor design and Apple needs to own up to it.

    no problems for 2 years

    I have had 2 of these cables since the iPhone 5 first came out. I keep one at home and one in my car adapter. I have had no problems. I love how fast they charge my phone and transfer data. I just bought a two meter one for work. I have no idea what the fuss is. Trollers?

    I am on my third lightning to usb cable. I have had the one I am using currently for about 3 months and it is already starting to break. I am looking how to file a warranty claim but they do not make it easy for you to or maybe not even possible. Definitely a waste of money to buy the apple lightning cables.

    Splitting Cable Cover

    I purchased a new cable on June 17, 2014 and it has already started to split. This is the 2nd cable that I have purchased and have had it split.....
    Really don't want to purchase another new cable. Of course the only want to contact support is to call they should provide an email address.....

    Title says it all!! My daughter has had nothing but problems with her Ipod touch and charging cords. We have replaced the cord several times. There has to be something better!

    This cable came with my iPod touch 5g when I got it as a gift for my birthday. I took care of it but after 1 year it started to bunch up at the lightning connector part and a month later it finally broke altogether. And when I plug it in to the computer it shorts out the usb port and stops working until I restart the computer. I have a micro usb to lightning adapter and that one started to not work today. Apple should improve the quality of this cable or just dump the lightning connector and go with micro usb. If I could rate 0 stars I would.

    Glad I have an HTC as my phone.
