I've owned many cables for iphones, ipods, Macs for years and never experienced any problems with them. Now, I've had 2...TWO of these Lightning to USB cables go bad. They both cause connection issues. I am replacing them today and hoping they will be of the quality I have come to expect from Apple products.

    Horrible wire

I am on my second lightning wire already (less than 6 months). The old 30 pin wire I only had to purchase a new one when I needed an extra wire. Apple needs to recall these wires like they do with ipods especially since alot of people have already purchased more than one. If you plan on changing something so drastic maybe spend some time putting it through the rigors of everyday life before releasing it to the public.

I am on my third cord in three months. First of all the chargers aren't getting any cheaper, and I am so sick of having to buy them every month! I am now in desperate need of a new charger AGAIN! I have 6 functional chargers for my 4 and 4s... WHY APPLE? did you have to change the port size? the original plug in for all the ipods/etc were just fine.

Stopped working after about 3 months!

I love the new design of the cord as far as ease of use - doesn't matter which way you put it in, and the slim design is nice.

BUT (huge but), after about 3 months of use, it appears that the cable has broken at the joint of the hard plastic adapter and the cable itself. I have to strategically position the cord to ensure that a charge is flowing. It seems to just be a result of wear and tear - except I've only had it for 3 months, so this shouldn't be happening...YET.

Hopefully when I go to the Apple store today, they realize it's a faulty design and don't make me purchase a new one. One can only hope!

My daughter got the new iPhone 5 for Christmas (just 2 months ago) and we are on cord #4! They are cheaply made in comparison to the old chargers for all my other Apple products. I think they are extremely expensive and poorly made. Come one Apple. I expect more from your company!

    Bacon Neck

147 Days. Thats how long it took for this thing to break. The neck nearest the Lightning connector began to crumple like bacon and has stopped charging/connecting completely.

It would be nice if the Lightning to USB cable had a 1 year or AT LEAST 6 month warranty so that Apple can replace the defective products.

That being said, i still prefer these over the old 30 pin connector. The ability to charge in any direction is very convenient.

I got my cord during Black Friday with my new iPod touch, and now only a few months after the cord is very picky. You have to hold it in a certain spot then lay it down and not touch it if you want it to keep charging, not impressed. Expected better quality.

Lightning to USB is no good!!

I like that it can charge fast but come on I've had it since it first came out and I am already on cord number 5!!! With the latest cord purchased from sprint for $30 didn't even last 2 full weeks before it started messing up. the other cords have been purchased from the apple store and they lasted about a month. I tried everything to not have my charger defect took care of it, didn't leave it plugged in when it wasn't in use yet still it fails. I seriously am getting beyond ticked off because once the phone dies it is dang near impossible to get it to start charging. the wiggle effect seems to only work when the phone is not completely dead which mine currently is ugh.

This product worked really well when i first got it. I really liked the new size and design. But after a month or two the cable became weak and didn't work when it was plugged in. I had to twist it or hold it a certain way or else it wouldn't work. I'll try to be more careful with my new one, but i hope they come up with a more durable and longlasting cable.

Been through 2 of these already...after the second one went, I got down to business...removed the rubber sheathing, exposed the wires, and found that both had broken in exactly the same place...major flaw in the design...where did the quality go? I mean honestly...I have 5 iPhones in my house...2 iPad 2's...an iPad mini...and a MacBook Pro...is this what I have to look forward to? Use junk to make a product and you end up with junk...I'd really prefer some " beefy" wiring over buying new ones all the time...I really don't get it? It looks so bad for them it's crazy...hands down the worst thing that they have ever designed, and put on the market...

    arrive broken with iPhone 5

I love the new design, especially the reversibility. Unfortunately, the Lightning cable that came with my iPhone 5 was broken on arrival. It does not charge or sync with any of my computers. It does charge with the wall plug, so I suspect the problem is related to the chip that is built in to the cable.

I was really excited about the new thunderbolt ports for the iphone 5, but at the same time was sad about switching over to a new system. I have had my phone since october/november 2012 today 5-17-2013 my chord is broke (it still works but I must angle it in a certain angle). I wish for apple to make it stronger somehow I really like the design but it is way to easily damageable and will break. Apple's usb chords for the ipod touch, iphone 4 etc....those were pretty darn amazing really tough. I just wish that apple could make it to be stronger, because replacing these things take our our time and money, they are roughly 20 USD so it can get pricy. Just hoping for a better (Stronger).

I have had my iphone since december and have gone through 4 of these cords!!!! They are garbage, there is nothing to stop them from breaking because of the way its wired to the piece that goes into your phone, it keeps coming apart and ruining the wires!! NO ONE SHOULD GET THIS PHONE JUST BECAUSE OF THE CHARGING CORD AND HOW BAD IT IS!!!!

What is the deal with these lousy cords? I got my iphone 5 when it came out and i've already had to buy two replacement lightning cords. I'm really tired of this, perhaps I should sell this phone and go with the Samsung Galaxy. At this rate I could have almost bought a new phone for the price of these cords. I had the iphone 3GS and NEVER bought a new cord for it. Completely shoddy workmanship or a plan by Apple?

Just cheap junk. Already not working. You can see where the connection is no longer attached. Would be better to buy a knock off. There might be some quality then.

Mine stopped working after 4 months and I know it's real one 'cause I got it with my Iphone, I thought it was my own fault until I saw I'm not the only one with this problem. Apple should fix this 'cause buying a new one is very expensive!
