    A little let down...

Pros: The cable is much easier to plug in and feels less fragile at the connection site than the 30 pin connector of old. I don't know if it is true, but it feels like it charges faster too.

Cons: The square edges of the USB part are tough on the fingers. When I first got my phone, I thought it was a little tough to get out of the adapter but just shrugged it off. I then plugged it into my apple keyboard to sync and all that, which went ok. One problem though, the cable is now stuck in the USB port. No amount of force will get it out. I resorted to needle nose pliers and merely broke the plastic casing off of it. USB is not something dramatically new in design. It baffles me how a company so focused on fit and finish could let that slide by. Other people I know have encountered similar problems. It is very frustrating. Now I have to charge my phone by my computer (which is in my bedroom, so it can be pretty bright without a blanket on the screen). I love apple products normally, but come on...

    Finger Killing Plug-in

It does the job but the small totally square plug is tough on the fingers. I don't mind the new lightning port - love not having to pay attention to its orientation. But the USB end is awful.

It's a cable. The ONLY cable.

    pro:
the new design means there is it's easier to insert in the phone which is a huge plus when in a hurry or in the car. the 9-pin port is a brilliant by-product of the changes in phone design to accommodate the other upgrades.

    con:
the form factor was upgraded but it's still USB 2.0?

i bought 3 of these in addition to the one that came with the phone so that i wouldn't have to move this cable from room to car to room. it is a necessity (at least for me) but there was no joy in purchasing these.

Great if you get one that works

I ordered two of the new iphone 5 (for hubby and me) and really like the ease with which this cable can be connected to the phone. Unfortunately, one of our cables was completely dead straight out of the box (it won't charge or sync with a computer) and we were told we would have to drive hours to the nearest Apple store to exchange it. Pretty disappointed on that front. I'm also with others who would like it to be a bit longer.

    Great except...

I love how much smaller it is, and it's reversible! Except I was a bit disappointed to see they haven't accelerated the speed to USB 3.0 yet. My Retina has USB 3.0 and so does the Air and standard Pros so why not make the cable to work to the rising standard.

    Good

The cable is practically the same length as the one included with the iPhone 4 and 4S.

It also charges my iPhone 5 at around the same speed as the old cable charged my iPhone 4S.

I don't know if I'm the only one but it takes extra long to sync my device now though. Both my 4S and iPhone 5 have 64GB and the same content so I'm not sure if the problem is due to the new iPhone 5 or the new cable.

Good but where's the wall plug?

I ordered this thinking that the wall plug adapter was included. Nope. Just the cable. They should probably make it more clear on this product page that the wall plug adapter is not included.

i love the new tip for the cable. it fits no matter which way it is turned. the downfall, apple still made it as short as the previous usb cable. even if you have a wall socket directly by your bed there is barely enough room for the cable to reach to a night stand. come on apple make a longer cable, we have been saying this since the original iphone. ill spend $20 on cheaply made 6 and 10 foot cables for $5 a piece before i buy a second short cable from apple. the only thing this cable is good for is if it is in your car because 41 inches is plenty for a car charger.

    Came with new iPhone 5

I like that it's smaller. That's nice. However, it's still way too short. Way too short. There should at least be an option to but different lengths, or just default the length to 6-8 feet. These cords barely, if at all, make it from the wall outlet to a table top. Or a night stand. Or a desk, or my lap, or a chair base...

If this was longer in length, it would be a 5-star rating. Because it is convenient being reversible, it's a usb (always handy) and it's faster, more durable, lighter, cooler, my point is made.

However, it all comes down to how you use it. And this will be used for charging my phone. Sadly, I'll have to sit on the floor with my phone to use it while plugged in.

    USB end fits VERY TIGHT

Great idea going with the smaller, reversible lightning cable. I like it a lot. until I have to remove it from my USB port on my computer or power adaptor. it fits very tight in every USB port i've tried. Im afraid to plug it back into my MacBook Pro for fear of it destroying the slot completely.
