    great new cable and connector

    • Written by from PEARL CITY

Thank goodness Apple did not go with Micro USB, Micro USB is such a flimsy connector. This will be Apples connector of choice for mobile for years to come.
I'm not sure why so many people are having issues with the cable.
try not to bend the cable right at the connector end its a high stress point (one would not bend a extension cord at 90 degree angles at the end right?). have had the same cable that came with my launch day iPhone 5 and there is nothing wrong with it.
as for the length, there are USB extension cables that can be used to make the Lightning cable as long as you want it to be.

One starred people need to stop whining

    • Written by from Barkhamsted

I love the new design of the Apple chargers. In a few years everybody will have them and you won't have to worry about your friends not owning one anymore! I looked at a lot of reviews and a lot of people only giving it one star. All were saying how disappointed they were in apple because they hated the new design, and that it was cheaply made. I don't know If they are the most unlucky people in the world, but I've had my lightning charger for over 7 months and the thing runs like brand new. not one single problem. People, stop being so destructive with your property and then it will last longer. Stop whining. This is a great product.

To everyone who is complaining about not being able to buy additional cables go to walgreens and buy one if it bothers you that much. I love my cord its so more more efficient being reversible when I come home from work I dont have to fumble around trying to plug in my phone when im half asleep.

    Best Quality

I am beginning to question whether or not some of these reviews are from people hired by other companies to leave negative reviews. The average for all reviews on apple.com for this cable is 2 out of 5. If you go on to walmart.com, the average is 5 out of 5 and the average is 4 out of 5 on amazon.com. Seems a little fishy... Anyway, apple makes very high quality cables. Still use my usb to 30 pin cable from my original ipod nano to charge my ipad 2. Never once had an issue with the 10+ chargers that I have had in the last 8 years. ALL OF THEM STILL WORK TODAY. As far as my usb to lighting cable that I ordered off of here, still no problems and I don't suspect there will me.

    Quality cable

    • Written by from Sewaren

I have tested this cable extensively, and find it to be a significant improvement from the previous cable; which was also of excellent quality. Specifically, there are no issues with frayed wire or damaged insulation even under strenuous conditions, and no issues of reliability with either the lightning connector or the USB connector. I outright challenge the comments on here to be fictitious and outright defamation. In addition, apple does replace faulty cables under warranty, so there is at a minimum, clearly abundant ignorance of Apple's policies.

    Ever heard of a warranty?

    • Written by from Oakhurst

Okay. I don't know what it is with you people complaining about Apple Cords. Apple offers a 12 month warranty on your phone, cord, and any other accessories they sell. So WHY are you people "buying" so many new cords? If the cable shreds, call 1800applecare and theyll replace your cable no charge for 12 months.
You people make NO SENSE whatsoever. I use my cable 10+ hours a day and beat the heck out of it. Finally after (what is it now, 8 months? of ownership) my cord stopped working. Went to Apple Store and walked out 5 minutes later with a new cord. You pay a premium for apple products for their great warranty!

I've had one of my cables since I received my iPhone the day they were released. I have dragged it around with me every where. The cable works great and looks brand new. I also have the 4th generation iPad and that cable works, looks, and is in great shape. My husband hasn't had any problems with his cables either. They work great and are long lasting.

    Good design and well made

    • Written by from Washington

The "lightning" plug - the end that connects to the phone - is a big improvement over the old 30 pin design: smaller, reversible, stronger, easier to insert - much better than a micro USB. The cable itself is strong, soft and flexible. The USB end, of course, like the old cable, plugs into your computer for syncing or charging, or into the small Apple power converter cube for even faster wall charging. As with any electrical cable, do not kink it; do not yank the cord to unplug it; insert and remove the plugs gently. Duh. If for some reason the cord should fail within a year ( mine never have) by all means take it back to any Apple store or put it into an envelope and return it to Apple for a replacement.

Works Just Fine & Great improvement

    • Written by from Union City

With the many reviews of this product breaking, I can't help but say I have had NO issues at all with this cable. I have even stressed the charging pin by accidentally applying too much force to it while it was plugged in, almost bending it and breaking it off inside (it did not bend or break) and it still works fine with no damage. Mine is durable and great. Then again, I don't abuse or hulk smash my Apple products or their accessories like MANY people do. I don't think its the product, I think its users being careless, aggressive and irresponsible.

I was looking for my extra USB Cable for I had for my car...could not find it!! Called my husband to check in the laundry. OH _ _ _ _, he washed the cable when he washing the pullover I had the cable in. When I came home and tested the cable after being water logged...it worked perfectly. Yea for me! Most electric cords die when immersed in water...not MY Lighting to USB Cable! Thanks!

PS...you could make these another foot or so longer!

    Liking the smaller connector

Haven't had any issues with the cable and I like the smaller connector. I haven't used the dock connector for years now, preferring Airplay streaming, where I can carry the phone around like a music remote instead.
