    Broken!!!

    I can not tell you the number of Lightning my family goes through. They do not last, break too easily. We have a family charging station where I forbid anyone from removing the cables. It seems that every other month one of the cables stops working. This is ridiculous! My husband and I are joking that Apple must put a self destruct chip in them so we need to buy new ones every two to three months. I love my iPhone, I'm to the point to moving on if I can't find a solution for reliable charging.

    The quality of iPhone chargers is absolutely terrible, they're so cheap. I've been through several chargers and none have even lasted a year. They only last a few months and then stop working. I really hope Apple does something about the terrible quality soon. I thought Apple was better than this but they clearly aren't.

    These either break off at the lightning end, or just stop working. Been through three cables already (with normal use). Last one didn't last three months. As if they were inexpensive, or as if apple would allow other manufacturers to build and sell their own. It's infurating.

    Cord is not durable

    I am very disappointed with this product because it is not durable at all and doesn't last long. I just recently ordered my second replacement cord because the first two cords I had stopped working. I had to wiggle them around and sometimes hold them at a certain angle in order for them to work for a few moments. Apple should make this product more durable because the cords should last longer than a few months. This is very frustrating!

    Cable Frays

    I've been careful to take good care of my lightning cable but it has badly yellowed, the ends have scrunched up, and now it is beginning to fray. A similar thing happened to my Macbook charger and it stopped working; it's very disappointing that these extremely expensive cables don't last!

    Very Great Charger

    I don't see why people have problems with their chargers becoming "scrunched," because I don't. I've discovered if you don't have the charger against your chest while plugged into your phone, forcing the weight down on it, it doesn't "scrunch." A company like Apple does not make a cheap charger. What matters is taking great care of your things and they will last. I've had the same iPad lightning charger that came in the box for almost a year now and the only thing wrong with it is the discoloration from dirt it has gathered. These are great chargers to have and I'm glad I have two.

    Dear Apple- what are you using to charge your iPhones?

    Dear Apple,

    My grandkids and I have iPhone 6s and the lightening chargers that "charge" them. The chargers break very easily and don't charge the phones for long at all. They are also quite expensive. We were wondering what you use to charge YOUR iPhones. Are you using a different charger than we are? I can't imagine you are able to function very well as a company using these lightening cables. Would you kindly let us know how to purchase the cords that apple headquarters uses? Thank you,

    Apple Cords are way too pricey to replace so many times-- poor quality

    While we love the Apple phones and ipads, i think we are done buying any more Apple devices until the expensive proprietary cords Disappear and they go to something universal. We have spent a bundle on these excessively overpriced Apple cords and they constantly overheat and dont last. I've had dead wall chargers/bricks as well as these frail usb lightning cords that have had to be replaced over and over and it just isn't economically wise to keep doing it. We had the same problem with the old type cords as well. (iphone4s)
    We DO pay more for Apple products and we dont mind doing that and have done it many times but the company really ought to have a better plan to power them. 20.00 for a cord is unreasonable. Its unfortunate, but we are mad enough that I think we will have to settle for Android.

    When I had my iPhone 4, I never had any problems with the charger for it. Now, with the iPhone 5c, I am about to purchase my "5th" charger. These things are a waste of money. They last only for a few months and then you have to go purchase another one. Hey Apple, stop coming out with new iPhone every six months and come up with a charger that last more than six months.

    Cord stopped working

    I've had my iPod for about 9 months and my cord is scrunched up, and u have to bend it for to work barely. And the same thing happened to my sister.
    Apple really needs to fix this problem badly.

    2nd charger just broke

    had the ipod5 for about 6 months and now my second charger just broke. the first charger slowly went out, my mom managed to wiggle it into place for a final charge but gave up after that. my second charger only lasted a week or so and the plastic cap on the end of the actual lightning charge side came loose and you could see that the red thread was completely off so no point in trying to wiggle any more with that cr*ppy charger. now my ipod5 just sits and Im using my ipod4 even tho its a little slower, its still no problem to keep it charged. I have a ton of 30pin chargers. seriously apple? this might be my last apple device..

    If you are going to block my phone from using other manufacturers cables, you really need to build an "official" cable that doesn't wear out in 3 months. Deeply uncool, Apple.

    If it's broke, replace it

    I have seen a bunch of reviews of people having their lightning connector break and having to buy a new one, many claiming once a month since they goethe phone or a few months after, and the great expense this is.

    However, I just confirmed with Apple that my cord is covered under the warranty, I got Apple Care, so I can just get a replacement if it fails. The cable does seem kind of cheap in that it doesn't hold together too well, but they are backing their product if it fails, so not sure what all the hate talk is on this.

    Apple, I've been a fanboy since 1984 but this piece of excrement masquerading as an Apple product might just undo that. It is that bad, that poorly made, that dysfunctional. Sort it out!

    Breaks easily

    I'd like to see a more reliable, sturdier cable for my phone. I've had mine for less than a year (like 8 months) and it's already messed up. The rubber/plastic part near the lightning piece has broken open and now I have to maneuver the cord around just to get it to charge my phone. SO ANNOYING. Come on Apple, you can do better than this.
