    Absolute trash. AVOID.

    • Written by from Cumberland

I would give it 0 stars if possible...

I have owned my iPhone 5 since March 2013 (it is now December 2013) and I have gone through 11 cords! Each one used properly, but each one scrunched up near the phone's end and stopped charging. I absolutely hate this cord. Apple can't expect a total integration to this cord without fixing this issue. I've been demanding a new one.

I recently purchased an iPad Mini... I am now cancelling my order due to the fact that it uses this cord.

I've had two charger cables in the past six months I've had my phone and both have managed to fail due to simple fraying. Would not recommend this product.

    plastic nightmare

    • Written by from Freeport

I love apple products, but this is the one product that I'm highly disappointed in and would hope Apple completely reconsiders the material they're using for their charging cables for iphone and ipad. The phones and accessories are already expensive as it is, I really don't think any of us customers appreciate having to change an item as essential as a charger, as often as every few months. Please Apple find some other way to have your lightning charger last longer.

This would be my last apple product..

    • Written by from London

I have always liked apple products and have been using them. But new charging function of Iphone 5 is giving me so much problems that I have decided not to buy apple again.

Got my 5th charger now. Took my phone to apple store, customer services agents were very rude and not helpful at all. And just because its been over a year since I got this phone now they are asking for ££ to get it fixed..... thanks apple!!

Your new product has got issues... (lightning cable and charging point) and you are asking your customers to pay for it ???? (Lots of other people has got the same problem...)

Steve's left and the company's gone....

I am beyond mad and frustrated with this product. It keeps breaking! The part where you plug it in on the charger scrunches up and I guess it gets loose. These things are kind of expensive and I am infuriated that I have to keep buying them. I know there are tons of people with the same issue as I. Apple should really do something about this.

    5th generation iPod cable

Another unnecessary and costly change, in this case the connector cable for my iTouch, has transformed my attitude toward Apple. I will look harder the next time I shop for a new computer product.

    high price low quality

I have 2 of these cables, one from my iphone and one from my ipad. I got both roughly a year ago and both are fraying at the lightning adapter end. Given the quality of these cables they are exorbitantly priced.

    iphone 5 charger

    • Written by from Monroe

I have had my iphone 5 since September and I have had to purchase a total of 13 chargers. This is a crying shame. Some say that they are not supported. I purchased my 13th on today and my phone hasn't powered on in 2 hours. Its most definitely Android time.

    Complete Garbage

    • Written by from SPRING HILL

The quality of these cables is horrible. The outsides start peeling off of the wire within a few months. Next thing you know you have exposed wires and you're buying another one. Needless to say at $20 a pop it really chaps my hiney. Fix your cables Apple!

WARNING - lots of 3rd party fraud

    • Written by from Placentia

Professional reviews of Apple cables vs off brand demonstrate that Apple product is reliable. 3rd parties are selling poorly made knock-offs. On Amazon many cables and power supplies are listed as Apple - but when received are clearly not. Some of the imitations are very good and so hard to spot. Now I only buy parts direly from Apple.

    Lightning Cable- Couldn't be worse

    • Written by from College Station

Worst charging cables... I have wasted money on buying original apple for three times... which are almost ten times more expensive than the "fake" cables which work the same..why should one waste money in buying genuine apple cable... oh, at the first why should one be buying cables again and again....

This cord was very inconvient from the start. At first I would need to spend about 2 minutes trying to put it in my iPad , but then it started to not work. I had to move the cord around in a certain position every time I plugged it in but then it actually broke off! I was amazed with the poor quality from apple.

    ipad mini charger absolute rubbish

    • Written by from Accrington

My grandcjhildren have got ipad mini from their school on an 2yr contract (which they pay montly ) one was issued 12 months ago, and the charger gave no trouble for about 10 months, but since then have replaced it 3 or 4 times these have lasted between 3days and 3weeks. she was able since sept to use her brothers charger when he went on the same deal from school this sept, but guess what? yes that as now given up working, so no ipad, very poor, tried to replace it from school as they have them at £5.00 a time, but they have none and are awaiting an order, if the rest of the pupils get through them at the same rate as my two, they will never have enough to supply the 500 kids that are on the same project. I have tried Asda.Tesco,Game uk, none have any, so that tells you how bad these leads are as the shops can't get them or don't want them, because customers must keep taking them back. as I say absolute rubbish, I hope the school does away with the scheme. as the pupils get behide when they are unable to charge the ipad up ready for a days lesson. NEED TO GET THIS LEAD RIGHT

    Horrible terrible charger!

    • Written by from Fort lauderdale

I got my iPhone 5 just a few days after it's initial release date. Probably 1-2 weeks later my lighting cable started going bad, I noticed that the lines on the metal started turning black!!! Within a few weeks, the charger just stopped working! I had to get a charger immediately
Because now I was stuck without a charger...so I went to cvs and paid about $40 for a new charger, after that it all just spiraled out of control, I am probably on my 15th charger,
I always get error messages, saying that the accessory is
Not supported!!! I have spent more money on chargers than what I have spent on my phone, it's completely ridiculous! I think that because of this problem with the chargers, it has caused my phone to malfunction and die at 20% 40% and sometimes 60% saying that it needs to be charged. I love my iPhone, but this hassle with the charger and now the battery dying is making me really upset, and regretful about my phone.

    • Written by from Dartmouth

If I could rate this garbage in the negatives it is what you would get. Phone won't charge AGAIN. 3rd cable burned up in a year meaning I will have to make AN APPOINTMENT(!) with your rude & arrogant teenage IStore "genius" to be lectured about the correct use of a charge cable to have my AppleCare fulfilled. My wife is on her 4th. Unbelievable. That along with the forced update on the phone as well as numerous other headaches with your products guarantees that we will NEVER purchase an Apple product again - which currently inventories as 2 MacBook Pros, Apple TV, 3 JunkPhone 5s, 2 Ipads and a 27" Display. The moment my contract is up you guys are gonzo!

    Shoddy product

    • Written by from PHOENIX

The cable that came with my one month old ipad mini wouldn't charge my pad and I got a message saying it wasn't an Apple product. Turned out the wires on the lightning side weren't soldered properly. It certainly isn't worth $19.00. I just hope my replacement works longer.
I bought some made by another maker, but apparently Apple, in the newer IOS has blocked their use. Why not just fix the problem with the Apple product instead?

Apples chargers have always been trash.

    • Written by from shreveport

I have a Iphone 5s and have had it for about 3-4 months and the end of the charger that plugs into the phone is scrunched up and has stopped working completely. I have had these troubles with my past iphone 4 & 4s. Instead of making new iphones, ipads, ipods. Apple need to make a more durable charger.
