    cable horrible !

    I've had the iphone 5 for 6 months already, & the charging cable has been the worst so far! I have went through 4 different cables already, and they all give me the same problem.. It charges and all of a sudden it doesn't charge! I wish we could easily return them back to the store & get a different one. Those cables aren't cheap !!!!

    Charges quickly BUT...breaks quickly too.

    My wife and I both upgraded our iPhones to 5's in January. Since then, three lightning USB charging cords have simply stopped working. No signs of external damage - they just don't charge anymore. I continue to buy replacements because there aren't really any alternative options. But the repeated drain on my bank account irks me.

    Given the many similar stories on this site, I think it's fair to question the quality of the product. Apple - are you paying attention?

    Piece of crop worth 15 pence.

    This is the worst charger I have ever come across.
    It is FAR too short and it is TERRIBLY MADE
    I use many computers and have never seen such a short badly made cable
    I got my iPad (unwillingly because I wanted a Samsung) for Christmas last year (2012) and am now on my 4th cable compared to my trusty laptop charger that has lasted me 4 years.
    Classic apple, make 'em cheep, sell 'em dear.
    Ps. It says 1 star but I would rate this 0 star because it is is bad (trying not to swear)

    Expensive, proprietary, cheaply made, short.

    Apple for the love of god, make these things longer! I have to hang off my bed just to check my phone because my power outlet is 2 feet from me! I bought a USB extension cable and it's intermittent functionality. It will say almost every time "this device doesn't work with your iphone". How the heck are you going to charge $19 for a short cable, that breaks at the plug on the phone side showing wires after 2 months, not allow other manufactures to make reliable versions, and make them so dang short? What is going on in your product development meetings that you say "no! we will not give them more length! AND YES we will charge like we do!"

    The new lightning to USB is stylish. These cables are cheap and break easily. Iphone5 user for 4 months and have already replaced 3 cables.

    APPLE PLEASE GO BACK TO OLD CHARGER CORDS

    The cords stink, i have been trough 4 of them. they just dont hold up!!!
    I have had iphone since iphone 1 and by far these are the worst apple product ever!!!!

    New iPod cord design flawed

    I purchased my 2 sons (ages 10 and 12) the new iPod color for Christmas (1 each). These cords are only lasting ~8 weeks each! I've already replaced their cords twice each! They currently can no longer use their iPods because the cords are all broken. I wouldn't recommend this iPod model to anyone. Who wants to buy a new charger cable every 2 months!

    Charger needs replacing after only a few months of use. I am very meticulous about the way my ipad lies while charging,clearly it made 0 difference the charger is poorly made

    The cable lasts for about 2 months than you need to purchase a new one. on my 4th cable in 6 months and i have tried taping the cable prior to use to hope it would stop it from twisting up and the same thing still happends where it just twists up and stops charging. terrible design, if you use the phone while its charging it will without a doubt make the cable start twisting and weakening.

    Mine only lasted 4 months. 4 FREAKING MONTHS! Now we have to drive 30 mins. to the nearest Apple store to get a new one. I'm lucky I bought the coverage plan.

    I bought my Phone January, but now in april, the cord has broke, and I've been stuck with out my phone for the entire week, a total upset...... The old 30 pin one were much better quality, II still have my very first one that i had for my 3rd gen ipod nano the one with the little buttons on the side...... shame on you apple....

    Worst charger ever

    I purchased the iPad mini for my boyfriend for Christmas. He LOVES the iPad, however after only about 3 months the charger won't work. When he plugs it in it has to be on a flat surface or it says "charger not compatible with this device" or however they word it. It is ridiculous that the charger in these things, and the cable break so easy. I couldn't afford to purchase apple care and now apple won't listen to my problems with the charger and the mini. This is obviously a widespread problem and I can see from reviews online. Apple needs to fix this, for future customers and all of us who got screwed with this new system.

    I bought the new Iphone 5 and its a really great phone, but the charger is poorly made i have had the charger no longer that 3 months and it has completely stopped working i am really loving and caring for my apple products but this is ridiculous on how i have to ask my friends and family to borrow the charger for a day or two. Please redesign the charger!!

    My lightning charger broke after two months, and I just ordered a new one. It didn't even show signs of breakage, it just literally stopped charging. I love the fact it's reversible, as that really bothered me when plugging the 30-pin one in. I can tell I'm going to have to buy lots more this year... Now, I'm stuck without a phone for a week. Yay.
