    Good design and well made

The "lightning" plug - the end that connects to the phone - is a big improvement over the old 30 pin design: smaller, reversible, stronger, easier to insert - much better than a micro USB. The cable itself is strong, soft and flexible. The USB end, of course, like the old cable, plugs into your computer for syncing or charging, or into the small Apple power converter cube for even faster wall charging. As with any electrical cable, do not kink it; do not yank the cord to unplug it; insert and remove the plugs gently. Duh. If for some reason the cord should fail within a year ( mine never have) by all means take it back to any Apple store or put it into an envelope and return it to Apple for a replacement.

Works Just Fine & Great improvement

With the many reviews of this product breaking, I can't help but say I have had NO issues at all with this cable. I have even stressed the charging pin by accidentally applying too much force to it while it was plugged in, almost bending it and breaking it off inside (it did not bend or break) and it still works fine with no damage. Mine is durable and great. Then again, I don't abuse or hulk smash my Apple products or their accessories like MANY people do. I don't think its the product, I think its users being careless, aggressive and irresponsible.

    Just fine

If you don't treat the cable rough it will last a long time! I have had mine for 6 months now and it's still going strong!

I just could not believe it!

I was looking for my extra USB Cable for I had for my car...could not find it!! Called my husband to check in the laundry. OH _ _ _ _, he washed the cable when he washing the pullover I had the cable in. When I came home and tested the cable after being water logged...it worked perfectly. Yea for me! Most electric cords die when immersed in water...not MY Lighting to USB Cable! Thanks!

PS...you could make these another foot or so longer!

    Liking the smaller connector

    • Written by from Fresno

Haven't had any issues with the cable and I like the smaller connector. I haven't used the dock connector for years now, preferring Airplay streaming, where I can carry the phone around like a music remote instead.

    The genuine cable works fine

    • Written by

I have four lightning cables (for work and home and car) and I've never had a problem (since last fall). Of course I bought my cables at the Apple store and not from Amazon or ebay for $10, so I'm sure I'm using real cables and not one of the millions of fakes that so many people are using. I bought a cheap cable at JFK while on a trip and the thing stopped working within 3 weeks!!! Those people having issues may want to check to see if their cables are cheap copies or the real deal! No one I know with real cables has had a problem yet.

    The Lightning Connecter is great

    • Written by from Fullerton

I dont understand the negative reviews. The lightning connecter is great. Its about time they updated that archaic 30-pin. I've had my iphone 5 since it came out, and i'm still on the same cable that came with my phone. Dont be a idiot and tear your cable in half. Thats a personal problem, not an apple problem.

Love The New Design - Lightning Cable is Reliable and Works Great!

    • Written by

I bought my iPhone when it first came out and the lightning cables (2 of them) are still in pristine condition. I read some of the reviews where people are having issues with them fraying and bunching and not charging. I question how these people treat the cables. You do have to respect technology and have some very basic awareness about how to plug the cables in gently and not yank them from the wall charger. These cables should last for years if treated properly. Don't blame Apple for your rough treatment of it's technology.

    I love this

    • Written by from Uncasville

I love this new cable and connection. It is so easy to attach to your device, no fiddling around as you have to do with the huge 30 pin connector. I love that it is also right whichever way you plug it in, meaning that you don't have to turn it over if it's not fitting right the first time. I've had no problem what so ever with charging my devices. As I said my main love of the connector is how sturdy it is and how easy it is to use. I love it.

    Very high quality and durable

    • Written by from Rockville

I stood in line to buy the first available iPhone 5s. I was about 100th in line and I have moved around my cable plugged it into my laptop and charged it en route charged it in the car, train, plane, home, hotels, and constant travel -it is still in mint condition. Anyone who says that this thing lacks durability is either lying or cut it with scissors. Also the reversibility and tiny size of the usb cable is excellent. I do nothing to preserve the cable just toss it around and throw it in my backpack.

Do you really need a review to buy a charging cable?

    • Written by from Knoxville

I ordered an extra to leave in my car and, as expected, it works fine - the darn thing charges my iPhone.

I'm really not sure what a "wrinkled" cable looks like or how it really matters since we're only talking about a charging cable. But, I would suspect the most of the negative reviews are more just venting about the change from the 30 pin connector and the impact it has had on ALL of us. But then again, it's no different from the mini USB to micro USB change-over that affected my BlackBerry and first Android phone.

So if you've hung on this long to read this review - just buy it - you'll get a real charge out of it!

Love this cable I tend to use my iPhone right before bedtime and its nice that I can blindly attach this cable to iPhone unlike the 30 pin cable.

It works. What more do you need?

    • Written by from Frankfort

I bought an extra cable to carry in my briefcase, along with a charging cube, when I bought my iPhone 5. The cable does exactly what it must do: connect the phone to a USB port. The cable is long enough to reach to behind my iMac if needed and is short enough not to be a hassle carrying in my briefcase. The construction of the two hubs (USB and Lightning) seems sturdy.

It works. What more do you need?
