    Surprised to find I love it!

    I have to admit I was not happy when Apple replaced the 30-pin connector. I have about half a dozen around my house, and getting a new iPhone meant that those connectors - which I never had any problems with - were useless.

    Having used this connector now for nearly 2 weeks, I LOVE IT. I love how slim it is, and how easy it is to plug into the unit. I still don't like that I my old cords are obsolete, but I think the new design will be worth it in the long run.

    Design flaws present in this cable

    This cable is very flawed. I've went through 3 already in a mere 6 months. It rips from one end and stops working after that. Also, I am now experiencing problems where it says "The accessory may not be supported". How is an Apple accessory not supported on an Apple device??? I hope Apple fixes these problems.

    Lighting to USB Cable are horribly made.

    Going to have to get a 3rd lighting cable now. Same issue with the first 2, where eventually I will have to move/wiggle around the cable very carefully until I find that magical spot for it to actually want to charge, and then I have to make sure a piece of dust won't fall near it or else it stops.
    Hope they have been doing replacements on the Lightning Cables. As I can't afford to keep replacing these.

    Fix it.

    This charger breaks super easily. I've had 2 so far and today my 2nd one just broke. I also think it's quite a lot of money for a charger that doesn't really work.

    Literally just paid my first bill after switching over to AT&T and only having the iPhone 5 for one month and the cord is already defective. It's twisted at the end where it goes into my phone and I have to bend it a certain way just for it to work. I love this phone but it's hard to love a dead phone -__-

    Terrible cord design

    I hate this cord! I have to drive an hour each time I need a new one, and I'm on number 6 in 3 months! I would go back to my iPhone 4 if I could just because of this cord.

    I really hope that the extra cables soon to come are longer than the cable that came with the phone! This cable is too short to do anything with! It is only 40" inches/ 100cm and it doesn't reach from any outlet to anywhere except the floor.
    The only good thing about it is that I can plug it into my car as a car charger because I have a USB port in my car and that is where the length is okay. I really need it to reach from the wall to my night stand or the wall to a desk.

    "Apple's worst product?"...

    ... as described by Businessweek, this is the worst, shoddily made piece of cable I have ever used. I bought my iphone 5 short over a year now and so far, I've gone thru 5 cables (Apple original product: 1 included, 1 bought, 2 replacements and 1 currently in use) all broke next to the tip. They can be under warranty and replaced for free, but I dont have the time (or simply dont want) to go to the Apple store every time my charger breaks. As far I know, these are not disposable cables. I'd give it 0 stars if possible.

    Replaced the cable 3 times within 6 months.

    I am so frustrated. I've paid $60 or more on replacement lightning cables within the past 3 months. I am an Apple fan, but I'm so ready to move on and buy a Samsung phone, just so I don't have to run to the store every time I can't charge my phone!!! I hope Apple is reading these comments and taking notes. This is unacceptable. I thought I was the only one having this problem, but I see I'm in good/bad company here.

    3 Lightening Cables have stopped working and I've had my phone 6 months

    I have had to buy 3 additional cables in the last 6 months. I am wishing I had stayed with an iphone4.

    This is the worst telephone I've had simply because of this cable.

    I got two of these and then the Lightning Digital AV Adapter jus to make a long one.. apple should make a 6ft long one.. THEN id give this a 5 star.. until then or till china makes a off brand name one i getto rigged mine jus so i could have a long one.. thanks tho

    It does what a cable does. Charges and transfers data to and from my iPhone. But what's the deal with USB 2.0? Launch a brand new adapter and it's already behind.

    Never Again A Customer

    The most positive thing I can say about this is thank goodness the people who engineered these cords do not engineer cardiac pacemakers.
    I cannot believe Apple's complete disregard for this inconvenience. If I had to choose between an Apple product in the future that cost 1 cent, and another product that costs 1 million dollars I will pay one million dollars for the other product because it is NOT and Apple product. If Apple does not care about me, I won't care about them.

    I went to Verizon. Paid double. With a huge smile on my face knowing Apple would not see another penny from me. The cable I got is a thick, sturdy well engineered cable the manager told me there have been no problems with.

    I recommend to others to do the same. You'll pay more, but you'll be giving your money to people who actually care about your business.

    Wth Apple!!!

    I like the speed of the new cable, BUT the fact that I'm about to purchase my third one in under a year is ridiculous. I still have the original usb cable which is for my iPad and it hasn't needed replacing once. I would personally like an apology and a replacement with quality. It's nerve racking know I have to buy something that will tear up in a matter of months.

    I wish there was another option!

    I love the new design concept since plugging the old style ones in wasn't near as simple, but they are flimsy as heck! I have had every iPhone from the very beginning and every time I upgraded I just left the new cable in the box because I already had one. The only time I used a new one was when my dog chewed it in half! So thats 2 cables over many of years. With this cable I have already been through 6 since I got my phone in september! They have all done the same thing; first it just seems to have a bad connection or be shorting out but the cable looks intact and then within a day of that starting a hole or open area appears under where it connects to the phone. Please apple FIX this or give us another option because I can not continue paying 20$ for a new phone charger every couple of weeks!

    How's this for an idea.....

    i've read how people are complaining about the length of the lightning cord. Easy solution folks, pick up a USB extention cable which are sold in longer lengths. That's what I did.... Problem solved!

    As for my 4 star rating..it'd be a 5 if the length were longer directly from Apple. otherwise, it's a cable, what's to brag about? It serves it's intended purpose.

    Lightening sure to steal 30-pin's thunder :)

    Apple, great job! I love this. It's similar to the micro usb in size, except unlike the 30-pin and micro usb, its symmetry makes it fuss free - and I like the way it snaps to let you know it's in all the way, too! Can't wait til more of your products migrate over! If there is one thing I would ask for, it would be an extension cord or longer cord altogether. The option to buy an extension piece would suffice (like what is offered with the MacBook Pro's).

    I agree with everyone else.. very low quality...

    My charger is going to break, I can see the rubber bubbling up right beneath where the wire meets the connector. I know multiple people that I work with or I am friends with who had to buy new chargers. I compared it to the old charger... The old charger is very sturdy, especially in the area where the wire meets the connector.. I am not sure who made the choice to make it flimsy and poor but that is very bad business. Look at the rating of this charger!! Not because its new and different but because it is made out of paper!! We all deserve free, more durable cables.

    I have an iphone5 for about a year now and so far I have gone through 6 cables. I'm not even kidding. The chargers break really easily. The quality of the product is really bad.It's so expensive also. I hope Apple can do something about their chargers.
