ALL LIGHTENING CABLES BREAK FAST!!! HORRIBLE QUALITY FROM APPLE?

    • Written by from Lewiston

I expect NOTHING but the best from Apple, and these Lightening cables are a COMPLETE DISGRACE to Apple! Surprised they haven't recalled them they are that BAD! Apple- if your reading these, please redesign the inside of the Lightening Cables and recall all the old ones! That would be the service I would come to expect from Apple. Let's see how they respond to this MAJOR ISSUE!

    Poorly Manufactured

    • Written by from Richmond

Gone through 4 cables and my current cables are starting to break connection between the connector and cable. The connection between the connectors and cable are so poorly designed. Really surprised the company sells this, and curious if they put this product through any reliability studies... This is such a simple component, it frustrates me that it's so poorly designed and manufactured...

    Keeps breaking

    • Written by from Albuquerque

Already changed for the 3rd time because it keeps on breaking. I did take good care of it, I'm sure its the companies' problem. C'mon apple most expensive phone?!!! But the charger keeps on breaking and it costs us another $20 for every time it breaks?!!! Is it part of your marketing strategies to make more money?!! Better focus on what will make your customers happy that gives us the quality we're looking for. Not only the phone but also all of your products includes your chargers!!!!! thinking to switch on android next time i upgrade my phone. Totally disappointed.

    5s Cable

    • Written by from New Brighton

Bought 3 iphone 5s phones last year and all three cables not working properly. This is enough to switch to Samsung (my wife has Galaxy 4 and has no problems) - goes to show that American build quality still poor.

My 4th one in 6 months!!

    • Written by from Rancho Cucamonga

I am extremely careful with all of my devices, whether it be apple or any other product. I take care of my accessories and cables as well, because I am a neat freak. I've learned how to wrap cables correctly, however, this cable seems to stop working really fast. The "lightning" part of the cable gets all messed up and stops working. It makes me really mad, because I love apple and all of their products. But there is simple things like cables that they could still get better at :/

WORST CHARGER/SYNC CABLE EVER MADE BY APPLE

    • Written by from Ottawa

I AM REALLY DISSAPPOINTED WITH THE SYNC CABLES APPLE HAS BEEN PROVIDING FOR THE IPHONE 5. I HAVE GONE THROUGH MAYBE 6 OR 7 CABLES THAT HAVE LITTLE TO NO DAMAGE THAT STOP FUNCTIONING AFTER A WEEK OR 2. I WOULD NEVER BUY THIS CHARGER IF IT WASNT COVERED BY APPLECARE. NOT RECCOMMENDED TO BUY THIS AFTER IT BEING SO FRAGILE FOR THE COSTS THAT US CONSUMERS ARE PAYING. APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!

    A bad buy

    • Written by from Eugene

There is nothing else to say. Apple either does it on purpose or is simply incapable of doing things right. The quality of the lighting cable is so poor yet there has been no apparent attempt to fix this problem. Monopolizing the market with terrible products, by the way, is shameful.

Not a great design, this really needs to be addressed

    • Written by from Lillooet

I'm thinking I should just about have shares in Apple about now. Between our family of 4 and all the apple products we've purchased. It's bad enough my kids need the latest, greatest. Now with the newest lightning to USB cable, since the birth of the iPad mini, iPhone 5 & 5S it's awful.
The cable is one of Apples worst designs yet. I feel before coming out with another phone. They need to listen to the people and fix the flaws they've already created. WE NEED A NEW CORD DESIGN preferably one that's stronger, last longer and I don't have to spend another fortune on cases.
I like my iPhone and I really don't want to change but......., come on Apple.

    Multiple Failures

    • Written by from Scottsdale

I have now had several Apple (not aftermarket) Lightning to USB Cables fail. They all worked fine initially but, after several month of use began to fail intermittently and then with greater frequency. Cleaning the ends has not solved the problem.

    Terrible Quality

    • Written by from Mount Vernon

I have gone through 4 lightning cables and 1 MicroUSB to Lightning adapter. So the two that came with my iPhone and iPad, respectively, broke (just stopped working) and one of the two was torn and every time I plugged it in, a light when on inside the cable. After that I bought a certified aftermarket lightning, lasted about 2 months, then that one completely stopped working and I went and bought an original. That stopped working so I bought an adapter and returned it yesterday to get another original. I'm not even taking it out of the package until I get my iPod's, if I have to return it I'll just use my iPods cable which should arrive with my iPod in 5-6 days. Just to sum everything up, avoid losing the receipt and packaging of the cables.

    Lightning Breaks!

    • Written by from Lafayette

This cable breaks waaay too easily. I've never had a problem with the previous generation cables. I've gone through 3 cables already. They're overpriced pieces of junk. They should call this Lightning-gate.

    VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

    • Written by from San Diego

I've been through 8 lightning cables in the past year and the all broke the same exact way. There's no way in the world I can unplug this cable without damaging it. This design is very terrible, I have never twisted nor bent. But somehow the wires were ripped for the connector part, and the part that covered the wires connect just comes off. So once agian me saying, there is literally no way to unplug your device without damaging the plug. Please find a way to make it durable because this is very annoying and I'm very tired of buying a new charger every two months or so.

Garbage, 1 star is too much.

    • Written by from Washoe Valley

I bought my iPhone 5s the first of march, it's not even may yet and I have already had to buy an off brand replacement charger. I don't use my cord anywhere except on my nightstand next to my bed. I plug it in when I go to sleep and unplug it when I wake up. I don't bend or twist the cord in any direction and the cord has completely stopped working, will not charge my phone except for a second here and there unless I pinch the cord right at the base, and I don't know about you but I don't want to have to sit and hold my cord until my phone is completely charged. I still have several original cords from my first iPod, both iPhone 3's, as well as both my iPhone 4&4s. Every single one of them still work perfectly. I have had this one for barely 2 months and it has stopped working. It is complete and utter BS considering the price of a replacement cord from Apple. I have been a loyal apple customer since the iPod and I feel like I've been cheated with this new creation. They should have stuck with the old charger, or at least do a recall and redesign the charger for the new phones. I love my iPhone but if the reliability of this cord shows how apple is going to start doing things I am going to sell my phone and buy an android. Fix this apple, or you'll be losing a lot of very loyal and valued customers.

    Sincerely,
    A very unhappy customer
