    Decent quality!

    • Written by from Regina

I have used these lightning cables for almost 2 years now. Since the original iPad mini. Using the cables daily with the 5S and iPad mini retina, I have yet to have a problem. I have used after market ones, due to a longer size and have found that the non apple cables take longer to charge my devices if they even work at all. Overall I would say the price is a little High but the quality during use is totally worth it.

My 7th cable gone bad in 2 years

    • Written by from Miami

Apple, your cable is really bad, why charge $20 bucks - I already spent 120 bucks on charging cables on the last 2 years, the frustration is beyond words. Steve would never allow this to happen. Where is the attention to details?

If You Don't Abuse It, It'll Last

    • Written by from Redmond

Lots of reviews here complain about price and durability. While it's true that I've seen some really bad examples of the this cable beat up to the point where the cable grossly dirty and was about to break off (my friends), mine has been close to 'like new' the entire time I've owned it ( Approx 2 yrs)

Why? Because I don't toss it in a bag with a bunch of keys, I don't squish it under my computer, I care for my stuff, that's why. :)
If you do the same, this will be just fine.

    Complete Garbage

    • Written by from Brampton

I thought it was me and/or my phone that was causing me to burn through these cables. I am on my fourth one since Nov 2013 so 10 months. These cables are total garbage and they should be warranting them or changing them cuz I am tired of spending $25 every couple months for a new cable.

I love the phone, but this charger is the worst.

    • Written by from Maywood

I just bought my iPhone 5c in May, and I've already bought 4 replacements. This charger is terribly sensitive and way too short. I've actually considered getting rid of my Apple device and switching to Samsung. Apple should redesign the 5th generation chargers. I'm very disappointed

    Please sort this apple

    • Written by from NORTHALLERTON

I have had three lightening cables now and all of them have broke, the outer rubber of the wire breaks down over time and to expose the internals of the cable. Not only is it dangerous it's annoying please sort the design out so it doesn't do this in the future. Like most people I have had to buy replacements from places like tesco that last longer...

    Good enough

    • Written by from Stekene

I bought the new ipad and an Iphone 5 so I had 2 cables, witch stopped working after a little less than a year, but I went to the apple store and they just gave my a new one because my ipad and Iphone were still in warranty. Ofcourse after 1 year you can't do this any more, but I think this cable has better qualtity than all the "made in china" stuff, because the "fake" cables don't charge the phone/ipad nearly as fast and they break after a week, so you can buy like 4 "fake" cables for the same price, but actualy you will be better off buying this one. And if you buy this cable you normally also have 1 year of warranty so in case it breaks, you get a new one for free.

    The cable made for break

    • Written by from Oldham

I'm really angry today , my usb cable broke again , last night I was suddenly ill and I decided, rather than calling ambulance in this time , I will make an appointment with my gp in early morning,
putted my phone on charge, I found in the morning it's only 2% , tried to call my gp and the phone turn off , when I managed to charge the phone again and it's too late, I had to go emergency.
The cable like new but inside broke , it's luck of quality . It's shame of apple after that long time they couldn't produce a quality charger!
Finally I phoned apple customer care, they are happy to replace. But I'm not happy with it, I said send me a pair of UBS cable one as spare as one break I can use , because you don't know any time it could be break.
Or sell the cable with under £5,,

why apple sell it for £15, it even doesn't worth for £5.
I want to say to apple ,, this cable doesn't cost to made more than £5 pound includes all cost as ready to sell, so why you sell it for £15, people use this cable use to charge iPhones not sumsung phones, make customer happy by supplying accessories with minimum price , this way apple can be more popular. People already paid a lot with main device. What else you want? Touch the sky ! But don't forget you might fall down to ground at any time. Also don't forget the past!

Best advice guys don't trust it, always keep a spare cable ..

    Horrible cable charger

    • Written by from Carteret

Am on my 4th cable charger although I enjoy my iphone the cable charger is unreliable. I agree with all negative reviews on this product . For such an expensive phone the charger is horrible and am seriously contemplating changing my phone to samsung. Am very disappointed with apple and this product. A $20.00 phone has better quality, long lastng and reliable charger. Apple need to do act fast on this problem so many people are having. At this time am furious @11:30pm with no charger and have to go buy yet another one first thing in the morning this dont make any sense. I hope apple is ashame of this product and should start reimbursing their customers. I had so many other cheaper phone and never had this problem. Shame on you APPLE

iPad and iPhone 5 charger cable are pieces of junk!!

    • Written by from Huntsville

I have 2 iPads less than a month old and both charging cables just stopped working. There's no damage to the cables at all whatsoever they just stop working. These are poorly made and not worth anything! Apple should reimburse customers with a real cable because this one isn't worth the materials they used to make them! They are a rip off!!

I have had the apple iphone 5 for 5 months now and have bought Atleast 5 chargers. I am careful and try not to bend them. But they still end up breaking. I use it for maybe a month (or less). Then I will plug it In one day and it will say "this accessory may not be supported on this device" after that, I can charge it. But only at like 3 different angles. And then one day, it will completly stop working. I have always been happy with apples products but these USB cables are the worst product I have seen. Such poor work for such an amazing company.
If they keep this up for the iPhone 6, I may not even get the iPhone 6.
But we will see what happens when they make the new USB cable for the iPhone 6. Very poor work, apple.

Epic Fail! Non standard cable that does not last

    • Written by from Bowling Green

My son is on his 3rd one of these since Christmas (about 8 months ago). He usually takes good care of his electronics especially his iPad. The lightning end soon frays and shorts and then charges unreliably. Apple needs to fix or reinforce this design. I hope Apple isn't seriously planning to start using these as Headphone connectors as the rumors say. That would be a disaster. I still have the 30 pin connector from my first iPod and it still works beautifully.

    Stopped working after 11 months

I only used this cable for 11 months before it stopped working. Yes, I was extremely careful with it. The price does not suit the quality of the cable. Apple needs to make their cables more long-lasting and durable.

2 Years and 10 no longer functioning Lightning Cables

    • Written by from Toronto

These cords are not durable. A simple twist renders it useless. I love my phone and this cord is necessary, but by the time I've ready to upgrade my phone I will have paid for it twice with the cost of the cables.

All my old 30 pin cords still work.

Apple improve your quality on this item please.

    Third Cable in 6 Months

    • Written by from Chennai

The cable is horrible. A few bends here and there and it stops working. Now I can't even figure out which angle it works at because it is totally spoiled. PLEASE, I expect better work from APPLE. I want to get my money's worth. No point paying for an expensive phone when the quality of its charger is so inferior.

    Huge improvement

    • Written by from Teulon

These are way better than the old 30-pin cables. Only one of mine have broken between the 3 I had for my iPod, iPhone, and iPad, and that was because I lent it to someone who didn't realize that bending the cable breaks it. To all the people who say the cables break to easily, all I have to say is that you need to take better care of it. When you're using it and when you're not, you should be taking care of it. If you do, it'll last long and you won't have to keep buying replacements.
