    Same as the rest

    • Written by from Torpoint

I burn through these cables. It's probably the fact that I'm Spider-Man and use them to swing around New York. Oh no, wait, no I don't. I plug them into the computer or ac adapter and then into my phone. I've gone through three on my iPad 4 and 2 on my 5s and it's the same problem every time. the end that plugs into the phones ends up with loose wiring and becomes very temperamental as to how you touch it. I seem to recall apple making sure that no one else can make their cable and now people have to buy a new one every six months. Coincidental?
Well now I have to go and fight crime with my trusty lightning-cable slinging abilities.
    No. Wait. Still not Spider-Man.

    3 failed cables so far

    • Written by from Woodbury

I have always been pleased with Apple's quality and functionality, but my wife and I both have the iphone 5. My first cable and now my current cable seem to have broken wires internally and will only charge if the cable is tilted in just the right position. The white casing on the lightning connector has also split. My wife's cable sheath has bunched up at the lightning connector end and has now split, exposing the shielding underneath. Currently, we have to use our aftermarket belkin car chargers to reliably charge our phones. Please do a recall or something. Judging by all these reviews, this has become quite an issue.

    • Written by from Philadelphia

Why have I had to buy over 20 cables in the short 6 months Ive had this new phone & new Ipad.... There has got to be a solution to these HORRIBLE Cables. When they work, they're just fine, BUT - THEY DON'T WORK FOR LONG !

    Cords coming and going.

    • Written by from Alpine

I have bought at least 8 in the last few months for two iPhone 5's. I first thought it was my wifes phone but now it happening with the cords I have also. Thought it was the knock off but the last two and one of the original cords was from Apple.
Can we (Apple) just fix the problem! Seriously thinking about upgrading to something different because I won’t be able to charge my phones at this rate.

    Why hasn't this been addressed

    • Written by from Durham

Just purchased my third cord in just over a year. Didn't realize that Apple was using disposable parts these days. Very disappointed that Apple hasn't redesigned this cord or maybe this is just a new part of their business plan. I guess next time I'll try a third party cord.

    Worst product EVER!

    • Written by from LONDON

I'm currently on my 4th lightening to USB Cable in the space of 12 months! Unacceptable - this is the worst product Apple has ever made - for my previous iPhones which I had for over two years a piece, I never ever needed to replace the chargers - this product is badly designed and very expensive to replace! I would say don't buy any apple products that use this type of cable - you will be sorely disappointed.

    Biggest Disappointment About Apple

    • Written by from fort mill

The lightning cable stinks. I've purchased at least a half dozen cables over the past year. They fail after repeated use and they're not cheap. I tried going with 3rd party cables to reduce the replacement costs only to find out that apple intentionally installs security features on the iOS updates that makes these cables obsolete. The recent update to our idevices has rendered these cable useless.

Apple, I don't mind paying extra for a quality product (iphone), but the charging cables are horrible and much worse than the older version which never gave us any problems. FIX IT and don't make your customers pay for it. It's your mistake!

    To fragile

    • Written by from Farmington Hills

I love how fast it charges my phone but what good is it if it keeps breaking? I can't keep buying a new one. Not what I expected from Apple, thought it was all about quality, this surely shows me otherwise.

iPhone 5 / iPad charger cable. No star rate!!!!!

    • Written by from STOCKTON ON TEES

Very very disappointed with the iPhone 5/iPad cable. We have 3 iPhone 5's in the household and 3 iPads and all but one of the cables have broken at the end which goes into the device. We have had iPhone 3's/4's and numerous iPods and never have we had to replace the cable. Come on apple I am so annoyed as we are all fighting to charge our apple products but we now only have one. Very very disappointing with all the money that we have spent on your products. By the looks of things there are a lot if other people in the same boat as me. I've never had to buy a new charger cable for any phone and I've had a lot throughout the years sony, Nokia Samsung and never had to replace any of them. I hope you read he reviews that your customers are putting on here and do something about it. Like sending me 4 cables would be a start and free of charge. You have my details as I had to put my iTunes account login. I will wait in anticipation!!

    SAVE YOURSELF

    • Written by from Dubuque

Lightning pin is by far, the best cord EVER at ruining your life... Save yourself money and time and just buy an adapter and use it with a 30 pin cable. Not only will the lightning pin cord have you missing out on calls, texts, or emails because your phone is dead and can't charge, but you will pulling hair, kicking walls, and punching babies , at the fact you will either pay an absurd amount of money for countless more chargers, or purchase a new phone, which isn't too cheap either. So I say to you dear reader of this review, thank you for taking your time to understand the pain and suffering I have gone through, and I hope I can save you the MANY more to come to this site for another cord. And to Apple, I proudly raise my middle finger to you as you have changed a one time Apple lover. You are unbelievably rich, so why is there the need to ruin customers life over 20 dollars every 3 months (or sometimes less)

    Cable - I phone 5c - 5s

    • Written by from NEW FREEDOM

My son is on his 4th cable in 6 months for the IPhone 5c. The cable is poorly made and there should be a recall on the cables. My daughter has a iPhone 5s her charger only lasted one week before we had to get a replacement. I am so disappointed with this charger that I may never buy another apple product again.

On to the Next Replacement Charger -____-

    • Written by from Plantation

This is literally my FOURTH charger. It is ridiculous that I pay so much money for the iPhone 5 and have to pay almost the same in chargers (eventually). There needs to be a charger that is durable so people don't have to keep paying for a new charger. The best chargers yet were the ones for the 4s and earlier!!

I would rate it 0 stars if I could.

    CHEAP

    • Written by from Hialeah

Seriously Apple, get it together!!!! It's sad I am considering going to Samsung because of this piece of cheap cable charger. They're disposable. Ive gone through 3 already and bought my iPhone 5s in November. I don't mistreat it. It just stops working out of nowhere. Yes, they will send you another one if your still under warranty, but the inconvenience is a pain!!! My old iPhone 4 charger was broken with missing plastic around the base of the cable and still woks after 3 years. This cable is the worst!!! After paying almost 700 dollars for a phone you would think Apple would have the respect of actually making accessories work!

    Charger will break over time

    • Written by from Columbia

I've had two of these chargers and both of them have broken. I would say that these have a lifespan between 5 months and a year. They are cool at first but the durability is terrible so don't expect these to last half as long as your phone.

iPhone 5C and iPad Mini lightning pin charger

    • Written by from Marietta

We have now gone through 4 lightning pin chargers. We are always very careful with unplugging it so as not to pull on the cable. What's up with the quality? Very disappointing ... makes me less inclined to upgrade our other iPhones and iPads that will require this charging cable.

If I can give you less than 1 start I would!!! Very bad engineering

    • Written by from Fairfax

This is NOT acceptable. This cable has a very very very BAD design right at the end of the lighting part of the cable. It bent in a few moth and break in less than a year. I have never had any electronic cable that went bad this quick this many time. Not to mention the BAD customer service you get when going to the store to complain about it. Store employees and manager automatically think that you are there to get a free replacement. So they won't even listen to your story. I am going to the store to buy lighting cable for the 3rd time today. APPLE THIS IS NOT ACCEPLABLE!!!!
